  1. I've seen the rider in 4th excluded when the rider in 3rd run into the rider in 2nd. Wasn't even the right team! Stoke vs Somerset in about 2009
  2. I'm sure about the same time Stoke hosted a NL meeting in late October for possible Peterborough, maybe Mildenhall. I'm sure one of the aware NL fans will remember. I'm also certain it was Peterborough who won the league as a result.
  3. If the Police pull me over for doing 35 in a 30 and I admit it, they don't need any fancy kit to prove it. Darcy admitted it, on television- they have all the proof they need.
  4. Who do we think "they" would prefer. Pavlic or Berntzon? Logic suggests you promote riders from the meeting the injured rider was from. Until such time that you have officially names the reserves.
  5. So it's the National speedway stadium. It will host EL and NL racing, training sessions and World Championship meetings. But it only has permission (well, at present it has no permission!) for running Wednesday, Friday and Saturdays evenings and only for 43 events a year. So lets assume EL speedway takes up 22 meeting (18 league, 2 play-off, P&P and a pre-meeting challenge) while the NL takes up 8 meetings. Thats 30 meetings. Add in a World Championship meeting thats 31. So it can be used for 12 days for training. Newport used to have less restriction FFS - you'd often if if you were over the right side of Newport hear riders practising during the day! Newport also had a permanent bar too. And a snack bar! We were told it would have unrestricted use and be using for training. With only 12 spare dates, I can't see that happening. Those of us who said that what we were promised would not happen have been proved right. Planning permission has not gone in for that but something smaller and with much greater constraints.
  6. Reading the updates I make it 13 falls in 15 heats. Clearly the track wasn't ridable!
  7. It's sad watching it from afar. I remember going to Rye House in 2003 and being over the moon we had managed to get a draw - it just didn't happen at Rye House back then! A few years later you were the envy of every club - good teams, owns your own stadium, had a CL/NL team so your future looked great. How could it go so wrong?
  8. He's from Nerwark in Notts. Comes from a motocross background
  9. Should probably get in early - Nico Covatti - Humble pie. Fair play.
  10. No he didn't. He was interviewed, he made excuses and next time said he'd hydrate before the test. So he's going to try and cover it up next time. hopefully nobody tells him hydrating wont hide the alcohol so he does it again and gets a life time ban.
  11. So Darcy can take up darts then. Problem solved.
  12. I disagree, this is one of the better rules. Heat 15 at Poole last night and Poole could have ended with 1,2 or 3 points (or 0 if they got 5-0d) and Wolves could have got 1 or 2 (3 if they got a 5-0). Made the last few heats interesting and made heat 15 a much better race with Harris and Bridger passing and re-passing for the league point.
  13. That obviously wouldn't be allowed. Once a fixture is agreed, only called off for rain or absolute necessity and they are investigated if need be. any meeting improperly called off results in 0 points for the home team and the BSPA determining if the away team should have points. Have these rules in place and you'll soon see fixture completed and less dodgy call offs as clubs wont want to risk investigations.
  14. I wonder if Emil was asked to replace Puk? If not it was a missed opportunity IMO.
  15. Simple answer. Meeting rained off, you have 28 day to run it. If you don't the BSPA award the points - probably to the away team
  16. Exactly. So he'd miss the next GP as he didnt make the top 12 cut off.
  17. 2? MJJ, Pawlicki and Bech is 3. Also, if you don't want rider to be able to quit then you can't sack riders either
  18. Your rules have just killed off Woffys title. Didnt finish top 12 in the last GP so now he misses the next GP too. Far to draconian IMO
  19. I agree Bomber should be nowhere near a wildcard these days. but at his peak he was where Freddie is now. Both 8-10th rider who made it one season and often got close in the qualifiers.
  20. If Bomber is a charity case so is Freddie. Equally as inept/close to qualifying (depending on your criteria)
  21. Lets switch that around. Why use engines that don't work with the silencers?
  22. How often do we see Greg "play the game" and sit contently in second in a GP? He's happy to score 2 2 2 2 2 3 2. Because he knows if he does that for 70 rides while his opponent score 3 2 3 3 3 2 3 then 0 1 3 2 1 that he's going to beat him over a season. I just think the GPs are made for a more methodical, thinking man like Greg than a cut throat one off World Final. I still think he'd have won a title, his constency over a long period means that there would have been a day he come good while those around him floundered. Nicki P on the other hand, he'd have loved World Finals.
  23. I may have missed it, but whats the deal with Matty Wethers? When he's due back?
