World Cup Final 2nd August 2014
SCB replied to mickthemuppet's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
TBF, in his last 6 meeting Harris is averaging 9.24 in the EL -
Chatting with my dad yesterday I said the same. I find Greg quite boring but if I was a young lad starting out, I'd be going down the Hancock route rather than the Ward/Gollob/Loram route. Seems to be far less effort and a lot less risky. So while I find Greg quite dull I have a huge amount of admiration for him.

You say that as is Kelv and Nige are any good at it. Josef Franc. It's not hard. It's Franc(e) like the county not Frank.

No, you picked a difference senario to prove you point. Pedersen was always behind. What you have said is if your back wheel is inline with there front wheel just wipe them out. As you're in front you're allowed to do it.
-
I hate this line. No you can't. Thats rubbish. If a rider dives under another rider going into a bed and with his back wheel wipes out the other guys front wheel you have just said that is acceptable as he was clearly in front for his back wheel to be hitting the other guys front wheel. If you can't perform a move without making contact with another rider, you in the wrong.

S W C - Who Will Be Picked For Uk
SCB replied to michaelcroucher's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Barker is never going to be the answer. I used to think/hope he would but he's found his level now. 6.5 EL rider. While Lambert(see next para), Kerr, Ellis and Garrity are some way off SWC level. It's no good chucking in riders because they're young! They still have to be pretty good. Rob Lambert is the only one I'd have considered using - and if I'm totally honest probably would have done at Lynn but hindsight says that Rosco has got it right IMO. What we should be doing it going to Sweden, Denmark and Poland and riding international challenge meetings against them. Get Cook, Worrall (x2), Howarth, Garrity, Kerr etc out there for these meetings. The SWC is not the place of tests and trials. -
This was my issue. Either you stop a race an exclude someone or you let it run. Nilsson in effect got in Eduards way and prevented him taking a win on the last lap - not very fair is it?! Not sure I'd have used the SWC to make my point but I do think riders need to leave more room on the outside to allow for passing. We all (well, not all, you know what I mean!) bemoan the lack of passing today and come up with ideas like more dirt, standard engines etc. Well how about tougher refereeing and that riders are not to move others over, ride your own race.

I tried to point out the same last year.
-
Why is it still only Hancock using the Golden tyre? He seems to be having success with it so why have a few others not jumped on the bandwagon?
-
This crowd and that for the GP this year is hopefully a couple of nails in Polands excessive SWC and GP rounds coffin.

Boycott Meeting- Fans Union Of Thespeedway
SCB replied to Catabracadabra's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Bournemouth? I thought it had been held in Coventry/Rugby for a few years as one of the attendees wasn't trusted to stray too far home by a loved one?! -
Would be funny though! Sadly I can't see it being funny. The Aussies should have quite an easy time of it tonight. It's a shame the Swedes didnt beat the Danes on Tuesday.
-
Mark Lemons not riding though, thats the point that was initially being made.
-
I don't do tactful
-
The one is on Speedway World Cup duty. The other was riding around in a field as practice for riding around in a field. At least Mark Lemons job is in the same competition. That said, he could have flown back if he'd really wanted to be there.

Genuine Question In Relation To King's Lynn Speedway
SCB replied to SCORPIO's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Or you look like an honest type who wouldn't smuggle in contraband! -
Thats innovation for you! They usually have until an hour after practice don't they? So I wouldn't expect anything confirmed until then.
-
Thats the issue with ideas thought up quickly over a weekend on the booze! I remember at the time we all said it would happen. Maybe another solution is assessed riders cannot drop more than a point below their assessed figure - that was they get a chance to settle if their figure drops a little but no 7 pointers coming in and getting 3. Any less than 6 and Redcar would have been mad to keep him. I used Redcar/Konupka but theres been plenty of examples. Kasper Lykke, Anders Thompson, a few at Berwick, Roland Benko. At least Plymouth finally replaced him with a young Brit.
-
Should be Brits only in reserve. And before someone pipes up it's illegal - tell that to the EL!
-
Its not just Rye House. He's crap. He's not even averaging 3. Yet they chose to sack a Brit once his average dropped from 7 to 3.

World Cup Final 2nd August 2014
SCB replied to mickthemuppet's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I'd take some of GRWs 2/1 on Poland!! Could even be tempted by the 5/2 on Denmark too. As for Australia and GB I'd be looking for about 15 and 30 before I even thought about it personally. -
My phone trying to be clever and change without to with. Without any affinity to any Swedish tema I don't care who wins or loses so it's just not quite the same, even when the racing is really good.

You surely have to admit he has a poor GP semi-final rate though?
