  1. Where are you getting that from? No bookie would have give you 66824 to 1
  2. Bit of a naff GP tbh. Weird how none of the top guys in the standung really managed to shine - even Greg's 3rd was a but bleugh. Actually felt sorry for Troy - maybe he can be the peoples champion?!
  3. So the National Speedway Stadium won't even be FIM standard? Holy crap it gets worse.
  4. Ive not seen Buyxtons but Rye Houses sort of falls apart and wraps itself around the riders. I was there in 2003 for a double header and in heat 2 of the NL meeting all 4 riders locked together and rode straight into the fence (and straight at me sat on the 1st bend!) the fence from the entrance to the 1st bend all the way to the exit of bend 2 fell down and the riders and bikes ended up wrapped in it. The riders were slowed down slowly enough and everyone got up. Had it been a harder fence - even with an air fence I'm not convinced all 4 would have got up. edit - This is simple enough. A rider who doesnt want to ride at a track without an air fence doesn't. They take the risks, nobody makes them ride. If a track is not safe, don't ride on it.
  5. See, now thats news worthy. Not the news some photos are being shown in the library!
  6. On another forum I read this week someone started a thread, "Do Forums Attract Negative People?" It's how it works, for whatever reason - I tend to find most sports forums i read has people moaning, saying the sport is bad, need changing, newbies would be appalled etc etc. We to a stock car meeting a few years back, reading one of the forums and they all said it was poor and new fans would be unimpressed etc but I enjoyed the meeting!
  7. Speak for yourself. I'll be cheering for them both, along with Woffy
  8. Any rider could. It's the risk they take every time they put on a helmet - they all know that.
  9. Jacks naivety would have been perfect had be been sat next to someone who knew what the were talking about. Sadly with Sams blithering it just sounded like a pair of clueless people - if highly amusing at times. David Rowe is a good choice though, a knowledgeable speedway man - sadly we still have Sam, the man most of us would have sacked if we had to get rid of just one of them.
  10. It was a risky team that sacked a risky rider for a crap rider. Turns out he's been even crapper than even some of us who thought he (Proctor) would be!
  11. Park and Ride at Cardiff East. Means you don't have to get into or out of Cardiff (not that it's that difficult or troublesome). The council normally sign post and advertise the best options though in the week leading up to it. You can buy tickets on the day. There's the ticket office by the main gate or ticket line in Westgate Street. Or find a tout, offer them £15 a ticket and walk away if you have to - once you're in the stadium pick an empty seat.
  12. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BnSRsSxdp4s See for yourself. From what I can tell though, most cerainly not Smolis fault.
  13. Harris is pr Harris is probably 8th. I'm starting the campaign now for him to be the wildcard
  14. TBF check out Scott's SWC record. He's hardly a huge loss.
  15. Ben Wilson as you say and Ben Barker.
  16. So you have a rider. Lets call him Nick Petersen. He keep winning. So a bunch of riders who are mates decide to call him out as dirty and get him banned. He's not longer winning is he - they have a laugh they have been able to get him banned. You can't have riders calling for other riders to be banned. Refrees get things wrong. Would you have banned Woffy for wiping out Gollob last year? Or when he crashed into Nicki? What about when Tai got injured at Cardiff? Was Freddie dirty? Nicki thinks that was Woffys fault anyway so what if the referee and the riders disagree?
  17. Lets hope thats the case. A speedway rider gets upset. They both have a bit of handbags (or helmets!) but kiss and make up later. The fans go home having been entertained and all is good with the World. Lets have more fights! As long as it's only between the riders and not any of the hangers on, officials or pit crews.
  18. Nicki has 3 World Titles. More than any other current rider. Using your theory that experience and World Titles trump all then I'll take Nickis opinion over all others on this one.
  19. Harris has 1 bad SWC and is past it. Yet people want King and Barker who are never has been and never will bes. If you go youth it has to be Garrity and Lambert but they'll be chewed up and spat out. Go with Woffy, Harris, King and Cook. Then take Garrity and Lambert so they're in the pits, they practice, they see what it's about. Take the Worralls too if they fancy it.
  20. Ive heard enough of Sam Ermolenkos waffle to know that being a speedway World Champion doesn't mean you have the slightly clue about what goes on. And I've heard enough of Kelvin Tatum to know what a hypocrite he can be and that despite his many wonderful exploits on a bike, he has a very different opinion now he's on the other side of the fence. Nobody is deny Nicki races hard. Nobody is deny he was wrong for that move.
  21. He's right about the Hancock moves. He does nothing untoward to Greg in that GP, nothing that many other rider had not already done or later did. Then in the final, in the same place Greg actual run into Nicki in the same place but Nicki carried on and completed the race. Nickis move wasn't even "hard" it was just a pass. Greg move though was hard - yet not dirty.
  22. Someone should remind Nicki that it was Freddie Lindgren that broke his hand at Cardiff. And Tais collar bone. But I did find myself agreeing with a lot of what he has to say.
  23. I remember Sam passing him and subsequently beating him in a NL meeting in 2006! It was a pretty big thing at the time, even more so now! As for Tai, in his first few years he had it all, he was "clearly" going to be a World Champion, or close to it anyway. Then as we all know his dad passed away and he seemed to lose it a bit (who wouldn't?!) and I questioned if he'd ever do it. He got the WC for the GPs and I thought he'd be out of his depth but after his first GP in NZ I remember commenting he looked good and could win a GP. Made that prediction look a little underwhelming in the end didn't he?! As for sending him to fetes. Too right I would. Can't stand his tattos myself but he's is cool, he's what the kids want to be simply for the reason most of us hate his tattoos and anything us older (and even at 29 I'm old to teenagers) people think is a mess is cool. He's edgy, he's well mannered, he's doing great things for charity, his whole back story is one you could not write. It's just perfect. I still don't think the sport is using him half as well as they could be!
  24. Stevebrum won't have liked the result of heat 14 Go MJJ "He's not Kildemand"
