Basically, Tai has to score 20 but for every point HAmpel drops, it's 1 Tai can drop. Bu Nicki is only 2 behind Hampel, so once Hampel has dropped two more points than Nicki, it's Nicki that is the "threat". 6-7 point in each GP should do it, as Tai has been scoring 15ish a GP for the last few GPs he could well be World Champion in less than 10 days.

Riders Who Come On Later In Their Careers.
SCB replied to NickRushbrook's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Zetterstrom spent years as a reserve/second string and then got into his 30s and won an EU title, a few years later in his mid-30s a Swedish title and made the GPs in his late 30s -
Rules On Twitter/facebook Use By Riders And Officials
SCB replied to Elephantman's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I've only been saying for years Middlo is a plank who should be nowhere near Team GB. People are starting to agree it seems. -
Please no! Team mangers have bugger all to do anyway, let them use their reserve to their advantage. As you say, its just good team building.

Darcy has no argument. He injured himself by over riding because he was about to run a 2nd last in a GP. Even if he'd not fallen, he wasn't exactly looking like scoring the 8 need for a semi so was going to end up on 4 or 5 in that meeting anyway and out of contention. Woffy was 3 ahead of Emil after being injured in a GP where you have to fancy he would have scored probably another 7 or 8 more - he was guaranteed a point in the head he was wiped out in meaning he'd have knocked Emil out of the semis so Emil would have 5 less too. So if he'd have not been wiped out at Cardiff he'd have been about 16 up on Emil before the last GP. There is no way that Woffy doesn't deserve this title. He's score 18, 15 and 17 out of 21 in each of the last 3 GPs, that's World Champion form by anyone standards!

24th August 2013 Gp Challenge @ Poole
SCB replied to Irk Deflector's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
It's not rubbish. The rules say a run off is used for the top 3 places. So 4-6 is determined by the count-back. -

That not what the rules said though (I've just checked). Top 3 places are by run-off. So 4-6 is based on count-back and Troy was top. So Troy should be first reserve this season. The FIM/BSI are wrong. Technically, as 1st reserve Troy should have had Crumpys place too when he retired. So rather than being in the GPs as the rules state, Troy ended up as 3rd reserve. But you DONT have run offs for anything outside of the top 3 places. So placed 4-6 are decided on count back. Which means Troy with 3 race wins finishes ahead of Madsen on 2 and Dryml on 1. -

I know what happened but the run-offs are ONLY used for qualification and NOT for the reserve spots. The reserve spots are determined on count-back thus Troy won the countback over Ales Dryml and Leon Madsen. The race-off is not relevant, it doesn't matter, it doesn't count. Either it's race-off or count-back. -

But if run -offs are only used to determine the qualifiers and not the reserves then the race-offs are irrelevant to Dryml, Madsen and Batchelor as they didn't qualify. They're only used to determine the top 3, after that it's based no count back, which last season Batchelor won. -

Were the rules the same last year that the run off was used for the qualifiers (top 3) but count back used for the reserves? If so, Troy Batchelor has been screwed over, he had 3 wins to Madsens 2 and Drymls 1 meaning the reserves should be Batchelor, Madsen and Dryml and NOT Dryml, Madsen and Batchelor. -
He needs to score 2 more than Emil and the same as Jarek.

Matty Wethers did 10 seasons at Edinburgh.

Tim Stone once plucked someone out of the crowd to ride for Australia when one of the Aussies didn't arrive for a Lions vs Kangaroos meeting. I wonder if Phil Morris remembers?

Ipswich V Sheffield (pl) 05 Sept 2013 @ 19:30

The German seems to have missed more rides than hes taken so far in his short British career. -
He was good. I remember getting a bit of stick off him a few times at Reading. I remember him putting out a request for a sausage and chips that had gone missing in the snack bar and pointing out it was probably a mistake and nobody would steal a sausage and chips from there. Quite often he would make remarks that were a touch dodgy but he got away with it, somehow!

The Olympics has to be human powered, so no motorsport.

Lets be honest, theres never a good time for a war cry!

Generally I agree but if as a Russian you can't win the GP series (even if your qualify because you'll have to miss a round) then it's understandable to want to take out an EU passport so you can get into the UK and become World Champion. Rune Holta doing it made no sense to me, it did him no favours. Not that it caused him any bother either.

Has he learnt it's Nicolai Klindt yet and not Nicholas Kling? Or that it's Smolinski and not Slominski? And that borderline racist comments are fine down the pub with mates or at home but not over the PA at a speedway meeting? Peter York wins any "worst presenter" award. And he's only been doing the job for 30+ years. Mind you, his knowledge when interviewing rider who retired 20 years ago is pretty good to give him his dues.

Neither have raced in the UK. Wasn't it suggested a couple of years that they're unable to get UK visas (nor is their nephew - their sisters son - Vadem Taraseko) because of their uncles strong links with dodgy members of the KGB? Or did I read a comment someone made being funny and fell for it? The fact neither Laguta or their nephew have ridden here before and 2 of the have had visas refused isn't really a good sign though, sadly. I'd love to see one of the Lagutas in the GPs, ideally Grig.

English Riders Is Two Riders To Many If Made Compulsory.?
SCB replied to stratton's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Which is why it needs to be phased in and shouldn'y initially be young/in reserve. That comes with time. If clubs know that in 3 or 4 season time they have to have a Brit or two in reserve it gives them a chance to work with some of the kids and make it happen. It may encourage more NL level racing or whatever. Most will fail, you can't polish a turd and all that but if you have 70 riders you have more chance of striking gold than if you have 14. -
You're not meant to quote a whole post like this without adding much but IMO it's that good it's worth repeating. Speedway websites are pretty crap and I don't think any clubs embraces facebook, twitter and all that sort of stuff anywhere near as much as they could and should. Snapchat is the "cool" kids giving you there account for you to spam them! The who concept is you swap photos, well you send them an image of speedway bikes every week to remind them there's a meeting for FFS, it couldn't be easier. Does any club have an official snapchat account? I know a few use twitter and facebook. It's a while since I went searching speedway websites but frankly, most are boring and dated. I thought speedway was fast, loud, wild, high adrenaline?! You'd not know look at most clubs websites. And the sport is made for vine (or whatever the latest video sharing app is now! Even I cant keep up). 10 second videos, that's enough to show a crash, a pass, a wheelie. Use it!!

SCB replied to stratton's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
It need to be built up. It should be 1 each in 2014, 2 in 2015, 3 in 2016 with 2 of them being under 21(or raced less than 60 EL and PL meetings to give late starters a chance). -
Dryml if fit will replace Holder if he's fit. If he's still out, then Leon Madsen and Troy Batchelor will replace Holder and Sayfutdinov. Let hope Ales' collar bone stay broken for a few more days.
