  1. The 3 fines alone come to over half a million British pounds, thats without the last bit about the first 3 home meetings. Add int eh fact that with a 12 point deduction next season it means that they're not going to be in any championship play-offs so may well lose fans at meetings it could cost them a fortune!
  2. Even i know shiny bikes make things faster! It's a long standing joke on the mini forum I am on that red engines are faster than any other due to people wanting to "modify" their car and in reality just wanting to paint it and chrome a few bits.
  3. AJ was fiddled in because BSI wanted him in. The place should have gone to Batchelor. It should have gone to the first reserve, NOT 9th place. And Troy should have been first reserve and NOT Ales as only qualified places were determined by run-offs meaning for those that failed to qualify and were only reserve their places should have been settled by count-back. So Troy was robbed out of firstly a season in the GPs and THEN a season as first reserve. While AJ got a full season when eh should have had nothing. If your face fits.....
  4. If Cardiff happened every week then crowds would very quickly drop to a fraction of their current levels. I think part of speedways problem is theres too much of it.
  5. Which GP did Riss make a final? In fact, I'll be nice and say make the top 10, in fact, top 15!
  6. Id say it's pretty spot on, this kind of thing will always have anomalies and it'll always be difficult to fully work out as how do you decide weightings for each league/competition? As lets be honest, a heat 15 in an EL meeting is harder than if you're riding at number 4 and don't get a heat 15 and I'm sure the Polish/Swedish league have a similar anomaly. Still interesting. My biggest shock is Zagar is so low, did well in the GPs, did well for BV. I assume he was a bit rubbish elsewhere?
  7. As a pedant I could pick a few holes with it but it's actually not a bad article at all, probably far better than the sport deserves.
  8. Don't think much if Woffys tattoos personally but these days, they're pretty normal. Ok most have them hidden away but I can only think of one ex of mine who didn't gave a tattoo but he had piercings, again, most people have piercings. Where I don't think much of tattoos I do like piercings esieciakky the ears ones Tai has. As for people saying he'll always have holes there, that's wrong, you'd be amazed how quickly they close up. If Tai has a few tattoos and looks like a yob it could be a selling point tbh, looks like a yob but is a likable, decent guy. Anyway, I blame Havvy. Winning a World title wearing dreadlocks, that was the thin end of the wedge!
  9. Totally agree.. As bad as Lindback has been, have AJ or Lindgren done anything of any note all year? No. At least there half a chance Lindback will do something wild at some point, no chance from Lindgren and it been a while since AJ suggested he could do it any more.
  10. Doesn't matter. The case we're not allowed to mention was all over the BBC, local papers website and news sites in Australia but any mention of it on the BSF meant a ban.
  11. I didnt think we could discuss rape cases on the BSF? Lets sweep this under the carpet like we did the last one.
  12. Sky will only be able to tell if people have their Sky box plugged into the phone line but I would imaging 90% do this as Sky tell them they have to - yet interestingly if you tell them you have no landline they still find a way to install their service 5000 is probably a pretty good sample tbf. Next time you see an advert on tele telling you that 9 out of 10 cats prefer Whiskers or 88% of women prefer Super shampoo look at the small print. It'll tell you it's from a survey of 60 cats or women.
  13. Yes, maybe. But how do you think the 2013 World Champion got his place? It was commercial reasons. Look how that turned out.
  14. Did you watch Darcy last night in the semi? He gated 2nd in the semi and was picked off. So it's not his gating thats an issue. He also got lucky in Latvia as after gating in 2nd and being picked off by Lebdevs, Lebdevs screwed up. Ward just has a poor record in the semis, trying to jump the start and when he makes starts being picked off. You say Hancock proved gating matters but Miedzisnki 3rd/4th in the semi and the final yet managed 2nd and then when it mattered, 1st, beating Gater Hancock and Ward.
  15. The first reserve in 2013 is Dryml. The first reserve in 2014 is Harris.
  16. As much as I can't stand Ward, when he does things like that I just have to smile.
  17. tbf, Puk is flying lately, Ward is probably favourite for the meeting. Woffy has been out against the top 2 in this meeting now.
  18. He could just roll around in heat 5. It won't matter.
  19. He has but his first is against Lindback and Dryml so it won't be that one!
  20. Why google when you can get someone else to do it? Thanks.
  21. Exactly. The best example I can give is that during the Mallett era I'd go to Newport probably 6-8 times a season as a "neutral" and I'd feel odd for clapping or cheering as the 250 others in the stadium were spread out and doing the same, so nobody cheered. Then Newport made the 2011 KOC final and over 1000 people turned up, the place was buzzing with people cheering race times. It was a great meeting, finished about 65-25 to Newport, there was plenty of passing as every time Glasgow gated Newport just flew past them with an air of inevitability but nobody cared, they're cheered and shouted. It was a great meeting. Now of that meeting has been the league meeting a couple of weeks earlier it would have just been another meeting in stead it was one of the best meetings I've seen for a long time. People make a meeting exciting, more people = more noise. more noise = atmosphere and fun. atmosphere an fun = more people. Sadly, the reality is that the opposite is true of speedway these days
  22. Is Carl Blomfeldt still working with AJ? He has a pretty good record but AJ seems to have got worse since he started working with him!
  23. People don't need names. Because frankly, as explained, they're not names. In their little bubble on twitter and at the track they might be but outside of that, they're just not. Darcy Ward is as irrelevant as James Shanes. People want good racing, good presentation, efficient meetings. They dont want to be stood outside in April at 11pm having got their at 7pm. Meetings should be over by 9 if they start at 7.30. They should move at a steady pace. There should be a scoreboard so the fans can see the score and not have to fill in a programme. The presentation should be fresh and modern - I've only been to half a dozen hockey games but they're so far ahead of speedway its painful. I can't imagine too many Greyhound/Rugby/Football folk being upset if the speedway promoter asks if he can tidy a few bit of the stadium up.
  24. Jarek could win his first 3 rides and unless Tai is on 0 there very little presure. Tais two lowest scores have been 7 and they both come in GPs where he broke his collarbone. As to the question of will the Poles rough up Tai, I full expect them to try it but he's in the advantageous situation of if it happens, he can shut off and sit back, at worst he gets 0 in that round of heats when Jarek gets 3, he'll still be well ahead of Jarek over all. They have to get close to him first though. Tai doesn't ever need to keep finishing 3rd as Jarek will drop points but a good start, hold on for dear life and keep 3rd will be enough.
