  1. Edinburgh to Cardiff or Edinburgh to London (Wembley)? Coventry to Cardiff or Coventry to London(Wembley)? Would you believe there's less than 30 miles in it from Coventry and less than 10 miles in it from Edinburgh and amazingly, to us fans in Newport there's actually about 90 miles in it to the good! It really does depend where people are coming from as to how far out of the way it is but from pretty central Coventry it's not a long way out. Wales is not the other side of the Earth, it's actually quite accessable and NOT "out in the sticks". How many times have you come to Wales? You probably think we all say yakki-dah and our little back roads are taken over by sheep. News for you, it aint like that!
  2. witchnut, I agree, if he does make it inot 3rd place he'll forever be remember as the unnoficial 3rd place guy in the World Championship and it'll be one of them quiz questions at a speedway quiz night in 20 years time! I think it would be hard to not include Hans as a Wildcard if he did finish in the top 8, in effect meaning the top 9 qualify for 2007.
  3. Berlin was 2001. 2000 WAS the last year with no temp tracks. Prague, Linkoeping, Wroclaw, Coventry, Voyens and Bydgoszcz were used in that order. In 6 GP there were 5 GP winners, the World Champion, Mark Loram won noe, Billy Hammil won 2 (the first and last) and inbetween Crumpy, Trick, Dugard and Hancock all won a GP each.
  4. Yep, coming out of the 2nd bend. Funny how after all the moans by Brits of other Nations doing similar, nobody ever remembers this! DH, we all make mistakes. Been there done it and got the t-shirt
  5. Well you'd be wrong then. 24 rider format has been used since 1999 AFAIK. It was tweaked a little circa 2002 I think (can't rememebr how tho! Mind playing trick maybe?) Loram had to win his title with the all sudden death format.
  6. I bet I think part of the only just making money is due to the fact they've had some quite heavy debts and have recent paid them off, so it's not as plain and simple as it may seem.
  7. If only it was that simple eh?! "Make it pay", did you know this was the first year the WRU have made money on the stadium!?
  8. I can't see the WELSH Rugby union being too happy with having to play home matches in England!! The millenium Stadium is primarily a rugby stadium. It also has football (even if you English dont want to sue it, us Welsh will), rallying, music concerts, moto-x, speedway and other shows and events (eg "The wedding show" Speedway is one of many, many event and lossing half a dozen English football matches doesn't suddenyl make the stadium redundent! Beleive it or not, we did not build the stadium for youe English to play half a dozen football matches at each year! It's not viable as many of the event there take the pitch out and use the concrete floor underneath
  9. Personally, I dislike the bottom tier, you're covered up so don't get the atmosphere. Other than that, I've not found a bad place to sit (or stand), middle and top, straight and bends, front row and back row. Tried it all.
  10. Scott Nicholls, in Praugue! He top scored in th eheats last year so surelt can go a bit better this time and do well in the semi and final too?! I hope so
  11. The rules were different back then due to the reserve thing. Hans will NOT get a medal if he's in the top 3 and will NOT qualify for next year if he's in the top 8. The rules clearly state that wildcards, reserves and replacements have there points taken awya and the standings are worked out from there after each GP, so sticktly speaking, Hans is on 0 Gp points ATM.
  12. Maybe Sky should cover the Danish, Swedish, GB, Russian, German, American and Finnish National Championships too?
  13. Thats nice! Talk about keeping your options open! 1. He can always change his mind nearer the time 2. What makes him so confident Coventry will want him? He's a great rider I love watching but I'd never have him in my team if I was a manager/promoter.
  14. Whats hamichi and how doe sit work? (too lazy to go looking back) Do we need it if we're only connecting?
  15. I would suggest not doing that!! The firewall is there for a very good reason!
  16. You might want to watch it 20 more times, there is no contact. As Scott pulls along side Hans, Hans stops letting the bike run up the natural line that eh had been taking every other lap and flicks it so he starts to turn left. There was definatly no contact until AFTER Hans' bike had flicked.
  17. Maybe Coventry should attach Hans to the dog rail at Brandon
  18. Actually, it's No (watch where Scott is compared to the white line, had he turned any sooner he'd have bene over it!!) Hans has his elbow stuck out coming out of the bend (his perogative tho) but Scott is the first to elbow the other after the netx point Hans (left), really quite clear if you look at the view form behind and the view from behind. Scott is actually seen leaning left. Hans/Scott are side by side. Having watched it over and over it depends on what view you watch, I thikn Hans just has it.

  20. So then guys, where does Scott hit Hans coming out of the bend? Did Scott really forget to turn going into the bend? Who's elbow moves first? Who's leaning and in what direction? Who's leading going into the bend? http://homepage.ntlworld.com/chrisbrown/scottyvshansHQ.avi (about 15 MBs)
