  1. So obvious that everyone does it :s How about starting in the middle and making your way to end and then go back to the middle and go to the top. Not so obvious so nobody else would have done it and you should find somewhere a lot quicker
  2. When Rye Hosue held the 75 year meeting (Feb/March 2002?), the rider had to ride the old bikes, I'm sure someone whow as there can tell us what rider did best. I know Scott Nicholls pulled out as Ipswich were not keen on him riding strange bikes, well that was the official excuse.
  3. I wonder if the Australian manager can get this rider to sign for Newport? About time we got another decent rider form Oz after suffering Lee Herne and Ash Jones. (BTW, I'm joking Anth, I like Lee Herne ) BTW. Racer X, I believe the track is sort of oval shaped, it has a straight, with a bendy bit that connects to another straight of similar length which leads to another bend beofre connecting with the original straight I don't know the lenght though but I would like to know. BTW2, I bet the IoW fans are loving this one, Jason Doyle beating Troy Batchelor.

First Norbold then everyone over 40
  5. I did warn you! Mind you, I bet it's worth it, I've been there a couple of times for various reasons and it's great, I can only imagine what it's like in the rooms there. £160 for two nights isn't that bad

    Arthur Pilgrim

If he rde for Cardiff I'll see what I can find. I'm sure to have something somewhere. Don't hold me to that tho'
  7. I'm sure I've seen this film or something similar. BTW, tried to download it in uni and they do not have a licence, I printed off the leaflet they tell you to print off with info and gave it to the relevant person, they said they'll look into it and provided there is no problem they'll try and get it sorted ASAP and to allow a week or two and try again. So I'll try in the week when I'm in one of the uni labs.
  8. Latest news, from the yahoo mailing list whihc is from the Russian mailing list is than Rinat was in hospital for a routine operation to remove some metal work from his shoulder, aparently he had a blood clot in his aorta.
  9. Off into uni tomorrow to have a look on there computers I'll let you all know what it's like. If at all possible I'll try and save the movies but I'm guessing it won't be possible but if it is (and I'm sure if it is in any way possible I'll be able to find someone who can do it) I'll put them on my webspace for you lot to get a look.
  10. I think Bilahora has it almost spot on. Ignoring his wish to see Tommy G win a World title I think most of what he says is about right, mind you, I'd love to see Tomasz up there battling it out for a title as Tomasz epitomizes what speedway should be about. Crump and Trick as the top 2, after that, who knows? I'll say Leigh Adams.
  11. That was a Championship for individual prestege, surely if you're racing in sa league for a club, you should get something as it's the club that gain from it, not the rider. Is 10p (or however stupid it is) a mile really too much to consider paying? How about, if rider cannot be paid, they get a "free" tyre?
  12. Vince, the 15 year old in the CL took a LOT of persuading with the right authorities, I'm not sure how they got around it though. Thats why I asked about this league, surely riders will get "expenses"?
  13. How will this league work, financially? As clubs cannot charge people to watch the youngsters.
  14. Celtic Springs. If it's any help. No, we had return tickets. YOU didn't have to pay! I'm sure the Celtic Manor has a few rooms, it must have, being as big as it it. Just expect to have to re-mortgage to afford it!
  15. Anth(?), my post was not meant like that. I simply meant as I had not heard of any of them, I was not able to make any sort of comparason with other riders and just how good they are. AX, why can't Chris Holder get a work permit? I though anyone aged 17 to 30(?) could get a working holiday visa, especially as he has not bene over here before to have any reason to refuse one.
  16. Can I suggest not sitting on the bottom tier, you're under cover (from the 2nd tier) and IMO it takes away a lot of the atmosphere. It's the only place I have any complaints about inside the stadium (apart from the abr but thats the same where ever you sit).
  17. To be fair, I've never heard of any of them other guys before, I have noticed the name Holder a couple of times though, so it means vry little to me to have seen him beat them riders. Thanks for the info anyway. Also, while I'm asking questions, what ever happened to Dean Wiseman? Bakc in the winter of 2000/2001 he was the future of Aussie speedway, ahead of Davey Watt, Scott Smith and Ben Shields.
  18. What information do people have about Chris Holder? Age? experience? local track? How highly rated is he?
  19. The irony, I can remember 2 times he has slowed after 3 laps, one time during a heat 13 with Worky and he still got the paid win. Go Wato. Does anyone have the Champinship standings? (appologies, if I have missed it)
  20. To look at the Adam Allott, shoud he should he not thing another way. Chris Ferguson, Karlis Ezergailis, Corey Blackman, Lee Herne, Christian Henry, Sam Martin, Ben Powell, Scott James et al, should they or should they not have been allowed to ride in the Conference League? Should Aussies be allowed into our league on 4 and 7 compared to our EU counterparts on 5 and 8? Strictly speaking, an EU rider has more right to ride in the CL and on a 4/7 than and Aussie. Surely a case of "I'll scratch your bakc you scratch mine"? After all, I beliebe thats how the Aussies first got the lower average, by having the young GB riders over there. BTW, anyone know if an Aus vs GB U21 series is likely to happen again? Even a full international (not likely I guess as Crump and Sully can't be bothered with the Aus titles, for various reasons).
  21. If it's 30 miles, Newport could complain about just about anywhere in Bristol as the crow flies, or about half or Bristol by road.

    Soren Sjosten

Have you seen the picture of Kelly in last weeks Speedway Star? Reminded us Newport fans of Frank Smart. However, having seem Kelly at the end of his career and watched Frank SMart for the latter half of his, I have to say they're two completly different, yet equally mad/exciting racers, riders woudl not be appropriate for either.
  23. It just as good as speedway, I caught a bit on some channel on Sky a few months back. Different but fun. But then I like quads, sidecars and the vintage bikes and most don't!
  24. Oooh, I hope they are, this is my kind of book, brutally honest and only been made to cut bits out for legal reasons. For those who love reading JB's comments, join the yahoo mailing list here and you can read his comments most days, fasinating reading, normally.
  25. There are plenty of smaller places on the way into Cardiff, try searching on yell.com in the Cardiff area, there must be somewhere.
