Sweden Gp William Hill Odds
SCB replied to Robbo's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Put a pound on Bjarne E/W, nothing to lose and possibly quite a bit to gain, he should be looking at semis this year so he only need another good ride after that and he's bearly won you a few £££. -
I'm glad you did, now I have it sussed I like it
-
Ok, got it working now I can't say I wasn't warned
-
Ok, having looked a bit closer, I realised I was trying to put the number in the wrong box (duh!) BTW, worked out the reserve bit too. I just didn't read the rules bit properly. Still can't work out how to get a TR to show in the score chart up the top, do we have to fill it in ourselves?
-
Steve, The problem is that we can't get the wildcards or the reserves into each GP score chart, or I can't anyway. Also, in the heats, you can't put a reserve in. Where am I going wrong?
-
I've only heard him at Brighton but he is without a doubt, the best I have heard. Most announcers are just that, "an announcer" and I don't remember names or anything about them, the fact I can clearly remember Kevin suggests he is good (or bad like the Tesco announcer at Rye House).

David Norris Cardiff Wild Card
SCB replied to Splatty's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Just become good enough. Rune Holta (Norway) is a wildcard in this weekends GP in Sweden. -
It's free with an adult ticket.

Surely Loram will be reserve, although it's unlikely he'll get to ride. -
Pah, make a banner, much better

New Gp Race Format - Good Or Bad?
SCB replied to Storming Norman's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
21CH, spot on. -
Ah, wrong tickets sent out, tickets not sent out at all. Been there done it, buy our tickets on the day now, much less hastle, cheaper and there's no bad seats so it don't matter where you sit.
-
Why not make heat 15 worth double points and last 10 laps? Why not get the opposition to throw wet sponges at the riders as they ride past?
-
Kristian Lund.

Sods law eh? GB get the first round when one of our star riders (the best?) is injured. Mind you, we'd probably not beat the Swedes with JAmes riding Anyone have any idea as to who will ride for Sweden? Lindback, Lindgren, Alden....?
-
I'd suggest avoiding the bottom tier, as you're under cover from the 2nd tier there seems to be less atmosphere, while at the top it seemed to be much better last year (prehaps lots more alcohol than previous years helped). View wise there not a bad seat in the stadium. By buying them on the day you can buy a family ticket as they don't put on there if the ticket is adult or child so you can get 4 adults in on a family ticket, saves a few pound I beleive most track shops are now selling them too, if you want to be sat with your local tracks supporters. As Jill says, get your tickets on the day, much easier.

New Gp Race Format - Good Or Bad?
SCB replied to Storming Norman's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
If you had a knockout format with 16 riders, you'd still have half the field in the semis! Simple Maths really. I prefered the new format, every race DID mean something (did Hans Andersen give up after 3 dodgy rides?) as he had to do well to try and get as many GP points as possible, if he had stoped trying and scored 0, he'd have 2 GP points less now. TBH, the track made it seem more boring, the format did not effect it, a knockout format would have had just as little passing and been equally boring. -
In the 1999 and 2000 Elite league, heat 15 was 6 laps, it did nothing, you just had 2 more laps of processional races as by that time most riders have settled down into a position because if a rider is going to pass someone he will have done it by then any way.

Anyone Seen Who Is Singing At Brit Gp This Year?

Most people do, I guess this is probabl the best band they could get, they seem to be liked by people of all ages, there's not many others who can claim that. -
Rickardsson Injured...
SCB replied to full-throttle's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Remember the opening round in 2000? Mark Loram only turned up to get his guanrenteed poitns having bene injured the week before, it was his bets GP of the season, missing th win by half a bike. I won't be supprised it TRick scores 3,3,3,N,N then wins the meeting! -
Why? If every team decides to ptu there best 2 riders in reserve, so what? Thats what the best managers will do, it shouldn't matter too much as all teams woudl do it. Even not bother having reserve, have a non-riding reserve who can have up to the same numebr of rides as the programmed riders. Whats wrong with the old test-match format? Tried, trusted and bloody good! While the logistics of a SWC like this would make it difficult, if feel it's better as having a team meeting where you never ride as a team just ride against 3 other teams, it's a bit mickey mouse as one team can be 7 down and another 8 and the team 8 down can use a joker (I thikn it's 8 down) and pass the team who are 7 down, the team who are 7 down never go 8 down so dont get a joker and might lose the meeting by a point to the team who were 8 down at one point. At least team vs team you can only use a joker if you are 8 down behind ALL other teams in that meeting as there is only one other team. Rather than hold it in a week, why not making a season long thing? Start in March/April and end in October and spread it around Europe?

Tony Hadley? I agree, "the (no longer) living legend" was the best entertainment, he got the crowd to do a Mexican wave. What about Craig Boyces band? -

Personally, I'd prefer some young up and comming local band (I can give BSI a contact number ) so some past it has been who is milking there tiny bit of fame for all it's worth. It won't bother me, I'll still be in the Price of Wales until about 10 minutes before tapes up when I'll run to the ticket office, we'll buy some tickets and then run to our seats. Am I the only one who could prefer to pay a little less and just listed to a cheap local and or just a CD? If you want a local/famous person, I'll mime on the centre green to Tom Jones for £20, unless you look at the big screen you wont know the difference! -
Heat 11 Pedersen, Crump, Gollob, Richardson. Thats one I'm not predicting Heat 2 is wrong, he is off gate 2 not gate 3. The heat line up means very little as to who will win, al 16 riders ride against each opposing rider once. It's not some Mickey Mouse Newport Speedway 12 rider line up where riders meet some riders 3 times and others not at all.

Do what my sister did, break your wrist when you're young and you have to learn to use the other arm, she can use both arms to write etc. Using the theory that Steve Turner has posted, to get out of the starts quicker, would it not be better for riders to switch the throttle and clutch around then? Might take a bit of getting used to, but they'd get out of the starts quicker. Or is it really not a viable option. Didn't Scott Nicholls have both throttle and cluth on the same side in the 1999(?) GP at Coventry after damaging his hand the week before? I know it caused him to go through the tapes in one heat.
