Glasgow Vs Plymouth Pl 05/06/2016

I expect this to be quite a tough test for Glasgow, Grajczonek and Doolan can ride Ashfield very well as can Newman. Be strange for Glasgow with Barker knowing it's his last meeting, though I expect he will ride his arse off, he always does, but his equipment is just not fast enough. Glasgow to come through in the end so I would say 50 40 to the home team. -
Richie Worrall is the 2nd string, Bens 3rd in the averages, though I know he rides at 4 which is usually a 2nd strings position.

Barker just hasn't been doing the job he was brought in to do, At home he's been getting away with it as our track is grippy this year and he's as brave as they come, Away from home he's struggled I'm afraid, at Sheffield he was decent but he only got 7 points that night which three years a go wouldn't have been decent for Ben, If you has seen him at Somerset you wouldn't have believed it was Ben Barker where he his only point came by beating there number 7. Rene Bach will certainly improve Glasgow, of that I've no doubt. Feel for Ben but it's not happening as Monday night proved at Newcastle when his points came about by beating the home teams reserve. Don't expect him to be out of a job too long.

If and when Newcastle reach the play offs the EL will have finished so won't be a problem having to use guests -
Glasgow V Newcastle, Sunday 29th May @ 3pm.

Big big test for Glasgow on Sunday against Newcastle who come looking for league points, With R Lambert and S Worrall leading them, the home riders will have to be at there best, Weather forecast is fine so all systems go, think this could be our biggest crowd so far this season as Newcastle are serious title challengers this year. Prediction, Glasgow 49 Newcastle 41, hopefully lol -
Glasgow V Scunthorpe , Sunday 8th May, 3pm.
Pogo1 replied to Pogo1's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Maybe the riders want the track grippy? I agree the opposition couldn't handle it in the first 3/4 races but that's not Glasgows problem is it, Got to say that Summers pass on the last bend was sensational due the fact there was grip on the track as was Garcias round the boards swoop as well on the grippy outside line, Also noticed Summers being a second outside the track record even though he eased up on the way to the line. More sterner tests will come when opposition will come and have a go and attack the track the way the home men did on Sunday. Nobody wants to see results like that and you have to wonder if Scunthorpe were really giving it a go when there ready to make changes to there 1 to 7. To say Sunday was a poor spectacle cause the track was too grippy for Scunny is laughable lol, Summers pass was one of the best I've seen , not being cheeky but why don't you offer your help or advice to the track staff as you seem to comment on it almost every week! Watch The Elite league boys this attack the track and thrive if it's grippy this Sunday the same way Aaron did on Sunday, yes the same Aaron when we signed him last year , you said why sign him he can't ride Ashfield and you would have preferred PIjper, ouch, lol Sometimes being a smart arse can come back and bite you on it, lol -

Glasgow 1 R Lawson 2 N Lunna 3 R Worrall 4 B Barker 5 A Summers 6 C Garcia 7 D Ayres Scunthorpe 1 J Auty 2 C Wilkinson A Davies 4 A Morris 5 R Douglas 6 Z Holub 7 J Bailey Glasgow should win this with a bit to spare, weather forecast is good for this one too Scunthorpe have a few riders who race we'll at Ashfield so don't see it being as one sided as last week, I'll go for a 12/14 point victory for the tigers which should keep the confidence high before there southern tour next week. Tapes up 3pm -
Edinburgh V Glasgow - League Cup 6th May
Pogo1 replied to george.m's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Tigers in the semi final regardless what the result would have been last night, it was good to see Glasgow having a right go regardless, Masters class act, and Etheridge will get better, Referee seemed to hold the tapes in every race Worrall was in after he jumped one early on. Barker a bit naughty staying down in the race he fell but he won't be the last rider to do that! Some tough racing out there, but fair I have to say, Nice to hear a very vocal away support, something we missed in the the derby at Ashfield. -

Glasgow line up is wrong, Worrall normally at 3? -
Be interesting to see if Panthers will be accused of over spending the same as Glasgow, when apparently we signed B Barker for big money. Great for the PL in my opinion that Cook is back, also happy that we have already raced them at home. Watch the lift that Ostergaard and Jakobsen get now that Cook is in there side of the pits!

Glasgow V Peterborough Sunday 1-5-16
Pogo1 replied to Stiltonpanther's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Well what can I say after that, Glasgow beginning to click now and even though the score line was very one sided there were some terrific races with Lunna and Barker getting to grips with there new home. Worrall looks to have settled in at Ashfield very quickly and produced the fastest time of the season in his 3rd ride. -

Hope the weather plays ball as it should be a cracker. Noticed that Peterborough have ordered tons of new shale at the riders request and are blaming that on there last two home defeats If it's grippy as last week hopefully R Lawson can have another go at the track record after last weeks fastest time of the season. Was interesting to hear in the bar afterwards that Barker and Garcia thought the track was too slick last week lol Yeah let's get it back to being slick so we can watch a gating contest!!! -
We have a team of racers this season, that's why we will have falls, scarey moments etc, These boys won't just ride round the white line looking for points, yes Barker was taking it to the limit yesterday but that's what you get when you sign riders who won't settle for second, Also noticed Lawson recorded the fastest time of the season in heat one. Peterborough next up and on there yesterday you really don't know what to expect from them lol

Redcar are our opposition for our first league match of the season, Can only see a Glasgow win but if Redcar come with the same attitude as Berwick did last week you never know. Lawson back for Glasgow while S Robson guests for Bjerre . I'll go for Glasgow 54. Redcar 38

Glasgow V Berwick Sunday 17th April
Pogo1 replied to Pogo1's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Barker was certainly not pushed away by Dickson and I believe Alistair Brady ( Wethersf mechanic ) came up to Barker to apologise to him after the meeting for a misunderstanding One or two doing a little sh#t stirring on here!!! -
1 R Wells 2 N Lunna 3 R Worrall 4 B Barker 5 A Summers 6 C Garcia 7 D Ayres 1 T Jorgensen 2 T PIjper 3 K Doolan 4. RR 5 S Alden 6 M Weathers 7 L Carr Think this could be quite a close meeting with Berwick certainly stronger without Mellgren , Glasgow are without R Lawson who won't be back till next weekend ( he also misses Lakeside on Monday at Wolves ) Wethers will no doubt get 7 rides and PIjper will get an extra ride too, Think Glasgow will edge it come heats 13&15 as Berwick don't have big hitters but are solid the whole way through. Glasgow 49 Berwick 41

Richard Lawson shares a position with Eddie Kennet at Lakeside so whatever the re staging date is I'm sure he will be racing with Glasgow. -

Edinburgh will be up for it after losing at home last week, Glasgow need an away win as Berwick have already got one in the group, Think it will be close that's for sure , Lawson could be the key, he's had some stinkers round Armadale and a couple of decent meetings. -
Once Glasgow clear up at Premier league level we will go after Poole lol, Ford is ahead of the game every year when it comes to team building , his statement is pretty strong, though a little bit arrogant, best promoter in British speedway IMO . Is it good for them to dominate every year, yes if your a Poole fan but not great for the rest. With only 8 teams in the EL it's a little bit boring now, with a new tv deal around the corner wouldn't it be great to see a new super league set up with maybe 12 teams with 4 of the PL biggies joining forces on a level playing field in 2016, You can't argue with his newspaper interview , it's maybe time other promoters/ team managers to unearth the gems he does on an annual basis

Glasgow V Edinburgh - League Cup 3pm, 3rd April
Pogo1 replied to george.m's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
A very solid performance from Glasgow right through from 1 to 7, The long tail mentioned by many during the winter doesn't look too bad although tougher opposition and away matches will give us more of an idea, great atmosphere in the stadium yesterday and Glasgow were well up for it right from the start, special mention to Nike Lunna who was beating Sam Masters with ease in heat one before Jye Etheridge came to grief causing a re run, Edinburgh will no doubt say they will get better as the season goes on which I'm sure they will, whether that will be enough to challenge the top teams remains to be seen, Glasgow don't have another fixture until they visit Edinburgh a week on Friday where they will no doubt have a large travelling support compared to what must be the smallest support Edinburgh have ever took to Ashfield, a mixture of strained relationships between the clubs or do they only travel in large numbers when they think they have a chance of winning. As I say there will be tougher meetings ahead so we shouldn't get too carried away but a very very promising start from the stripes.
