Eastbourne End Of Season Awards Evening
catinthehat replied to TurnTwo's topic in National League Speedway
I was smashed at the awards, i let the kids drive home while i was hanging out the boot of the Car, Kids are as big as TED so i just nailed some blocks of wood to there feet, Police would never look at a 14 year old looking pretty in a Honda Civi. Only joking, was a great night run slick and to the point, it was a bit different and the good thing about it all you can see all the respect each rider has for the management, and for the Sponsors and everyone involved with the Cub, the only think i have to say that i was dissapointed about was nothing. Nothing i can moan about. Had my photo taken with my partner and Kids on the Red Carpet on the way in, then had my photo taken with the bikes and then again with the silverware and this was before i was seated, Steve raven was great with the show and his magical shoes, well done to everyone involved it was a night to remember. xxx -
Just waiting to hear if I have got tickets tonight. I want to sit on Ben Hopwoods table i am told he's such a laugh is benny boy. Bit like Benny Hill.
-
I heard that Luke Harris had not been paid by Cradley? maybe there is a few more problems at Cradley than we have been told. Smith is good but if the Track is slick then i put my money on Dugard having a good meeting.

Eastbourne to lose on the night at Perry Barr by 8 points and win on the day at Easatbourne by 18 so a Ten point win for the Eagles and another Trophy fingers crossed
-
Unfortunately I cannot make it due to other commitments your just going to have to use RR for me for the night. But I hope to be at the last meeting of the season but again I have to move a few things around to get to it.

Damm not seen a photo as my facebok is playing up. was it a big mess,? more to the point was it a 500cc or a 600cc as he was so fast at Birmingham lol
-
Nothing wrong with 42 points and it allows new teams in the league to build a good team and see some great racing as we have done this year at Eastbourne. This will keep the better riders and the other riders will soon procress upwards and the whole of the league will be lifted another step upwards and not get left behind.

Eagles Vs Brummies Gold Cup Part 2 7:30 Saturday
catinthehat replied to Alex2000's topic in National League Speedway
Graham Dury was a gentleman in defeat at Eastbourne, They won the League and Eastbourne must have been a thorn in the side for them, Knocked them out the KOC, Better on 2 legs, Won the Gold cup, Better on 2 legs. Birmimgham won the league better over a season with playing RR and having a superstar in Zach. Well done to them but as gee jay said. Beaten on you home track in the First leg would have been a real killer for them. But now another trip to Perry Barr to meet Cradley seems like that and Kent are our local track lol. -
I hope it will go up to a 42 possible a 40 point limit as you said its got a lot of riders on a false average this year.

Rye House V Eastbourne - 19th September

I have done a bit of investigation on this little bit of a mess, seems quite easy really when you know the truth, John Sampford was on the phone talking to the ref and telling the ref that the Eastbourne riders were being a bit hard on his boys and could the Ref keep his eyes on them and ask them to take it easy on the first turn this was after the second time of a restart. This is again speedway and not chess? so from what i can make out that Dugard did talk to his riders and he was upset that Sampford didn’t talk to him or Glenn and went telling tails to the ref, which i can understand, then the crash happened and Dugard was upset and told Sampford what he thought and called him spineless and why not talked to us rather than then ref, Which john then agreed. Dugard then told him he could not use any of his riders and also for John not to ring him anymore asking to use Spiller as he was not available as he used to ring Eastbourne every week to use Spiller even though Rye House / Kent put an objection in for Spiller to ride in the UK. Then Brads crash happened and was no fault of anything else but Brads as he lifted and ran into the back of Hughes, as far as I am aware that’s all that what went on. Luckily for Eastbourne Brad was Ok but nobody knew that at the time. So I guess a bit of handbags and a post bag from Sampford lol. -

I am going to take my big sponge hand and cut a few fingers down so they are small and wave it around and like Nikki Pedderson, lol see its all banta, riders you love riders you hate riders you just want to cuddle, Nothing wrong with a bit of banta as long as it does not get personal or with intent to hurt anyone one, Stick and Stones? Like SteveC said "There are idiots everywhere" your have to put up with it and move onto another sport other wise. Nice to see that Graham Dury said Eastbourne were the better team over the 2 legs. (Respect to the man that won the league) but just had his pants pulled done by 23 points. Good to see the Eagles wining again, One question to aske myself. Why was Niall Strudwick on the celebration walking around and looking as if he just beatean Ellis? with a neck brace on just in case he slips up on the damp grass, Most riders wash the suits to get rid of shale stains but Nialls washes his to get rid of last weeks celebrations on champange. Come on Niall dont tell me you been at the gym getting ready meantally for 2016 and working out so you can open a bottle of champange. -
Saturday or Sunday is good to know that there i going to be speedway, Personally i like saturday as gives me sundays off, But i also like to sit at home and watch the gp? So i am not sure they can fit all the fixtures in around the GP? we just have to wait and see.

Eagles Vs Brummies Gold Cup Part 2 7:30 Saturday

Who is Nelly is that another rider that they have found, dont tell me he is from Germany, NZ, South Koren. lol Have to say its the same where ever you go and i guess because your winning or loosing a match you will always get some fans going to cheer, few weeks ago we had it at Rye House, its not normal for Eastbourne fans to cheer as they are normally that old they cant take in a deep breath to have a cheer. ( Thats a little joke to all of you that cant see it). Well done to all involed and it was nice to see Glen Martin up on the rostrum talking to all the fans. Any one got an update on Georgie as i was the one who gave him the bad luck, i see that his Engine gone bang but thats all i know. The Cat -
No one can live closer then David Mason, they were thinking of flying him in but by the time the plane took off it had to land again. you can see the stadium lights from his kitchen dave cant see them unless he stands on a Box "Sorry DAVID"

Eagles Vs Brummies Gold Cup Part 2 7:30 Saturday
catinthehat replied to Alex2000's topic in National League Speedway
Spiller was sick with a tooth problem, BWD was walking around with a knee problem and a cold. Just think how good we would have been if everyone was all well. Think Saturday night is going to e a good one. -
Chopper it says it all. Like they said no rules in how riders travel from a to b or are they going to police that next year. Cheaper to fly rob makes sense. If you had to pay for a van plus fuel plus wages for rider and mechanic then to fly makes sense. This is the start to the new NL Add the price of flights for perks return flight (£1300) then divide it by 20 meetings is £65 then plus the internal fuel money to get to meetings would be more expensive then Spillers flights. I think open and swallow comments while eating humble pie xxxx
-
If Adam was getting paid £600 per meeting its really none of our business, Who cares who gets paid what or how they all run at the end of the day if the club can pay it and can survive is it not up to the club how they run? I pay an extra £1 to watch Adam ride for the Eagles as the Birmimgham would. Hats off to all the riders becuase if they can get the money and the help they may as well take it when they can, some riders are always going to get more then others. Whos to say that the whole team is not going live in a house together and travel in a coach like the old days less cost to travel
-
I guess its just brought the NL up to another level, this is a step forward for the British Speedway to fly a BRITISH RIDER in, why keep the league at a low level needs to step up again, this is more like the old Second division way back in the 1970 and 1980s this is the the way forward i think. Shame that it started with Adam Ellis at the Island when they started to fly him in . Rye House when they do it from Branford from Scotland to Stanstead, but its cheaper then travel by car for Rye House then it is by Car for Branford and same for Spiller. Easyjet is easy come and easy go. xxxxx But have to say well done to Eastbourne for making sure the spiller does all the meetings and well done for the lad who has given up school time to make his dream come true to race speedway in the UK. Long hard days for Spiller but the young lad is dong great. I think UK Martin could be right and raise the points limit to 42 for the NL and make it the second division. Let the MDL have the lower class riders and let them step up when they are ready.
-
Danny Ayres is in for Zac so same as Birmingham, Will come down to Jack P and reserve and Dugard will be the telling, Dugard looked faster in his first ride at Birmingham then tailed off for the rest of the meeting. But we all know he is good at him home track so a few extra points there for him, Will be a good tight match.
-
Didnt he get excluded from his first race last time he was at Eastboourne for knocking off Andrews? but if he didnt then it could have been 17 out of 18. But your right he is top class and he was another level above everyone last night, but back up is what he needs.
-
Your right Countershaft, at the start of the year the cradley fans were rude and very aggressive towards me and the family when we was there, I kept my cool and let them get on with it but it was if the speedway world owed them a club and a track. Not to say that speedway does not need Cradley as it does but the supporters need to realise that being rude wont help them in there time of need. Like countershaft said if i was a business man and read what was going on face book at the start of the year, sorry guys not for me.

Ellis is top dog no question about that, if BWD is fit will give him a run for his money but george will win heat 1.
