On top of that. Just had a visit from a couple selling advertising for the club, I have long bandied on that a corporate team should be out there looking for advertising. It's taken 7 years, but better late than never. Well done, at last. I have not taken up their offer, as this form of advertising gives no benefit to my business. From the beginning my way of supporting the club is to sponsor riders, which to me is better use of any spare cash i may have.

A lot of us support speedway in general and like to know what happens at other clubs, and what is happening generally in the speedway world. Not just live in the little bubble of their own team, it does not make them any lesser fan of their home team though You can be as sarcastic as you wish. I am content with my lot, and my little enterprise has given me a very good regular income over many years,

I am pleased to be a member of the vast majority who are members of the 'THEM' camp. It is a great shame the club surround themselves with 'Yes Men', those who see no wrong. In business I need to know if I have got something wrong, so that I can correct my error quickly, before I lose any of my treasured customer base.

Always good to take on a rider when they have something to prove. The mistake some promoters make is to retain that rider when he has proved the point, the trick is to drop that rider, then find another rider who has something to prove.
-
I think a few riders will have had a bust up with Mr Roynan he has taken a few riders out in his career so far. Matej had two bust ups at Berwick with Vissing, mainly due to Vissing fencing him on the 2nd bend.

Think you will find Kus always started slowly and picke up later in the season

Pakistan Catholics perhaps

OK so where Pakistan is now.

You mean that stuff that was invented by the Chinese, mind the Haggis is French/Spanish, the bagpipes come from Pakistan.

Nah !, probably too much water, better with no water, but I will stick with JD & ice. :drink:

I think Felton was a training track, set up by Ken Marshall, Tom Graham and the late but great Will Hunter.
-
Better get a drainage company in first, Berwick Rangers abandoned water logged pitch
-
It also said on news today, they were from West Lothian.
-
Then, to put it simply, why put an unrealistic figure on the purchase of a rider, other than out of spite, if we can't hve him then no one else can.
-
You are probably correct about it not being competetive, as for the figure are rumoured it would be unfair to state them as they are rumours.. However if i remember correctly the figure to come to Berwick last season was in the region of 20k. I am sure there a lots of fans at redcar who do not want Kus back, but equally there are many who do.
-
I genuinely believe the high figure placed on Kus is just there to put another team off, no one in their right mind would pay the figures that are rumoured, and the Havelocks no that. They really want Kus to stay at Redcar, hence the reason for asking silly money. This is why it is important to a riders livelyhood that the BSPA should intervene with arbitration.

If it is he's still shopping in the bargain shops in Berwick

You are right, however a free for all is not helpful. When a club puts a figure of 20k plus on a 7 point PL rider, it's not about the money, it's about blocking the rider from wanting to move to another club. A simple financial system as part of the rules needs to be impemented, perhaps a sub group on the BSPA to set the price for a rider.
-
Perhaps it is time the powers that be set prices for the sale of a rider, x amount for a 3 to 5 ave , x amount for a 6 to 7 ave and a final price for an 8 and above . It would certainly stop all the stupidity of as asking 20k for a rider knowing nobody would pay it in the first place,
-
Screms right Matej is a good punt on a 7 ave, with a mentor like George who is able to keep a confidence rider on track. He may even increase his average a little, however don't expect it be over an 8 ave, he is about where he is, but if he can do that for Newcastle what more should you ask.

Any Saint involved in speedway or in life start to worry
