Berwick Versus Sheffield: 14th May, 7pm
To The Point replied to crescent girl's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I agree with you, except they were said before the drink had reached the lips -
The riders said, they were having a closed practice session next week. Got to say the track that was prepared in a way that it played to Sheffields strengths, why prepare a track in a way that they must know that Scandinavian riders epecially do not like.

One rider is not happy, there were only 2 riders in the B&G. (not counting LIAM who wasnt riding) He has a point to be annoyed though, luckily only 1 meeting before averages change, at that point I 'HOPE' to see an improvement. -
The only complaint I have , I don't like my race night changed. Speedway is a combination of things for me, a couple of hours of speedway to break the evening up then a night out with like minded folk. As it's a Monday night I cannot have a night out, work in the morning dictated otherwise.

Sky probably like Berwick because the track is prepared in a way that has no home advantage, to that end a visiting team has a much better chance of turning over the home team. For Sky that is good TV, because you dont hold home advantage

No way you will get past anyone after heat 4 at Berwick, too much rubbish around the outside nothing on the inside and one line in the middle.,

Don't need him at Berwick then, got enough riders who cannot gate

Still think you will see the Anders of last season when fit, with Seb probably going to No1 in next averages, and re-positioning of the team this weekend,, we might see a different Bandits. Then if we can have a consisatant track that suits our riders, would like to see the track back to when PW was there, teams were scared stiff to come to Berwick. Nowadays there is no FEAR FACTOR and the visitors reap the benefit.

Strange that, I thought we would get turned over on Saturday, Newcastle sadly, is a good team. I did think it would be more like 44---46, but as usual our problems come in the form of heats 12/13/14/15. A few old die hards thought the same in the B&G before the meeting. TJ will be OK when he drops from the No1 position, too much pressure on him and he's thinking too much about it. Seb will handle the No1 position much better.

If I have a comment, Scott needs to be a lot harder on his riders, they are there to do a job, and Scotts job is to make sure they do it. Remember you are the boss not their mate. Apart from that, Scott is on a learning curve, and is more than capable of learning by any mistakes made, which I am pretty sure there will be.

I must assume then, that other promoters are not very shrewd.

Holub is not a new rider this season, he was signed last season, the rule applies to this season

Even though there is a sense of union at Berwick this season, it does appear that certain folk concerned with the club seek division, it must be now fairly obvious that these same people caused the division in previous seasons in the 1st place.

SICKY BAD my friend, glad to hear you made it, and even more pleased you seemed to enjoy it. Look forward to a pint or 2 next time you are up, which I hope is soon.. Track is slowly improving, you did not pick the best night with the bad weather Berwick had just had. Scott Courtney will prevail along with his riders in getting the track they want, and the old dinosaurs will have to back down and provide it, so keep at them Scott. Did not read anywhere in that statement that did say kids should pay. I think the question was how many of what looks like a healthy crowd were children, and if say a 1/4 of the crowd were kids was the rest a healthy enough crowd. I believe myself that a break even crowd of paying adults of between 750/850 is a fare figure, if that happens and you have say 400 kids going free it does not matter, the important thing is you get 750 + paying adults. Cannot disagree with that, it is still important to get the paying adult to a sustainable level though, or it's back to square one, and the kids get nowhere to go free too. YEP
