  1. I’m just going on the fact he was outperforming Gappmaier at the end of last season imo, but you could be completely right, but tbf, there seems to be a shortage of 5 point riders without a club as I can’t really think of anyone to replace Gapp or Coty unfortunately, saying Coty as well because realistically he should be scoring more at reserve than he is, Leon is outscoring him most meetings despite Leon being the junior with no pressure and Coty being the senior reserve effectively meant to be carrying Leon, as Campton did for Bickley last season when Workington won the league.
  2. But won’t be an absolute embarrassment at half of our meetings, doesn’t have to be Pijper, I’m open to others, you clearly don’t go to away meetings which is absolutely fine, but when you have to watch him consistently half a lap behind and getting beat off NL riders when he can beat Craig Cook at home, it’s the most frustrating thing in the world
  3. I never made that point? What are you on about? Crescent girl said he had a higher average than Gappmaier and so couldn’t be replaced, which isn’t true.
  4. Away to Edinburgh 0, 0, 0 Away to Newcastle 0, 0, 0 and 0, 0, 0 Away to Eastbourne 1 (beat Jenkins), 0, 1 (beat Leon), 1 (3 rider race), 1 (beat Leon), 0 Away to Leicester 0, 0, 0 That is 5 out of 7 away meetings this season he has failed to beat an opposition rider, on a 5.68 average. This is his 4th season now for Berwick, no excuses anymore
  5. Pijper higher than 5.68? Are you sure? Must of went up an awful lot in September
  6. Gappmaier same again, how MANY TIMES do I have to say it, very poor from Jakobsen after a lot of good performances around Leicester last year.
  7. Was not poor at Sheffield last year? He can ride Workington, Sheffield and Berwick well, anything else seems a bit of a fluke, Coty for me, although it doesn’t really matter too much, both probably similar
  8. I’m sure Bellego lives in Britain? possibly with Nick Morris or Dimi Berge?
  9. Pijper lining up in a tough Scottish Open field on Friday, suppose that may give an indication, although looking at the line up can’t be expected to beat many.
  10. Oh if that is the case then fair enough, I suppose you could argue between Theo and Jye but I would of picked Jye and I’m sure most others would as well, however, I still stand by my opinion that Theo should come in to replace Dany or at least be tried after meetings with the view to bring brought in if sharp enough, similar to what Newcastle did with Jedd List before going with Bukhave.
  11. Averaging 3.83 away from home and he scored 14 in one of his 6 away meetings...
  12. Says on the gazette that he would get a ride somewhere else? Makes it even more confusing
  13. Yes you can see that Garcia and Jye are struggling but... why are they riding? And why are the club letting them ride if they’re not fit? I understand they don’t get paid if they don’t ride but they’re directly making the team worse
  14. David Meldrum and Michael Makovsky were never getting beat by NL nobodies on tracks they had ridden at least 7 times (no disrespect to David Wallinger as he done very well)
  15. Garcia obviously would move up and we would have Pijper at reserve, the man who nearly got us into the playoffs last year and who completely saved our season, which everyone seems to of forgotten, the management made the decision of Gappmaier over Pijper at the start of the season , which I respect as he is an asset, but he has had 4 years and has not improved on most tracks bar Berwick
  16. Go on explain that one? We can replace him with Pijper with Theo going to reserve First meeting scored 6 from 4 in a 52-38 win v Newcastle, Pijper would of managed that He put in a good performance against Glasgow and would of been close without him We would of still won V Edinburgh without him Sheffield ran us close and is tough to call because Garcia had an awful night at reserve and we carried an injured Jye which Theo could of covered if at reserve, will say Sheffield may well of beat us Would of still beat Newcastle on Saturday But... away wise, we would of won at Edinburgh 100%, still won at Newcastle first time and been a lot closer in KO cup, would of been closer at Easty but still got nothing. I have watched Dany Gappmaier away from home probably over 30 times since he put on a Berwick race jacket and I’ve seen him have 2 good meetings, I’ve also watched him not try and be absolutely pathetic in nearly half of them, never mind meetings I havn’t been to at Lakeside, Eastbourne, Ipswich, Plymouth, I’ve had enough of it and so has a lot of others, if the club had any form of ambition he would of been sacked when he shut off early going into the 3rd bend in heat 14 against National League second string David Wallinger
  17. Dany Gapp has an average over 5.5 people... We are wasting 5.5 points away from home every meeting because of him
  18. Shocking from Gappmaier, bad weekend from Etheridge and an unusually poor night from Jakobsen, I would be getting rid of Gappmaier and if the right rider was available would drop Etheridge too
  19. Everyone on here knows how much I have criticised our away performances in past years but come on? We had no chance at Eastbourne and even less so when our most experienced rider had to be replaced by 2 riders who had never seen the track before and 2 u18 2 point reserves. I’ve been to every away meeting up until tonight and can safely say we have been much improved, only problem has been Gappmaier but he done respectably at Glasgow and very well at Sheffield when some of our other riders struggled. We have won at Newcastle and scored 44 at Sheffield and Edinburgh in our first 4 away meetings, that’s better than any start to a season for at least 10/15 years.
