Wolves V Somerset 8th May

Take a photo of our team tonight Wolves, it might be the last time they ride as a team !!! Changes must be on the cards. Either way, have a safe meeting Wolves and Rebels, whatever the result !!! -
Somerset V Wolves Friday 5th May 19;30

Exactly ! I am a relatively new returnee to the sport after a break of some 40 years and obviously I have seen lots of changes to our sport on my return over the last three years !!! But I never expected teams to operate without their No1s so many times. I watched the GP at the weekend on TV and saw Freddie riding and was looking forward to seeing him ride this Friday at the Oaktree, the same as I wanted to see Holder and KK before, but alas we are to be starved of this treat and having to put up with guests that we will see, probably more times than enough this season. The Burnham and Highbridge News actually wrote in their sport coverage on Speedway that Wolves are led bi Freddie. It is not the Promoters that are ripping us off it is the system in use !!! -

This is all getting beyond a joke now, every meeting that counts so far at the Oaktree has had a significant member of the visiting team missing and the speedway public are being ripped off !!! -
You must have a white stick !!!

King's Lynn Stars 2017
Aroundtheboards replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I see Somerset Speedway has been deprived of the presence of Chris Holder when the Stars come - a - calling on Friday. The one thing I was looking forward to when we entered the Premiership was the chance to see such top class riders as Chris, last Friday we deprived or our own Paddy Hougard and the week before we were begrudged KK gracing the Oaktree shale. The paying public are being sold short and promoters are simply doing no better than hiring cardboard cut-outs when the engage these Euro-Hoppers !!! It's a rip-off for the Speedway paying public and is only destined to get worse !!! Imagine the riots if Premiership Football Clubs took to the field without their star striker week in week out because he had commitments in Europe !!! Fair enough if they happen to be representing their country but for any other reason it sucks !!! I know Chris in the GP but it does not alter the fact that we miss out for the bigger bucks !!! -

Agreed ! Josh rode a blinder but this comes to nought if he doesn't get the support he needs and deserves. He, too, will lose heart ! -

Yeah guys ! I am really relishing this one ! It will be good if Tuny has sorted himself out ! Just a shame we have to rely on Brady as a guest, albeit a brilliant one, it would have been good to go into this one with our own septet. Anyone heard how Paul Starke is doing with his shoulder injury ? -

What people don't seem to realise is that it is not just the team who engages a disloyal and regularly absent rider that misses out, it is also the supporters of their apposition that miss out as well after paying good money to see top riders in action. it is bad enough seeing guests for the apposition one night in their team riding against you and then the next night riding against you for somebody else !!! We are being sold short !!! I know this isn't the guests fault it is the system to blame. Somerset were just giving Poole some of their own medicine and the Rebels wanted it that way !!! Their prerogative, live with it and stop whinging. There's always a moan with Poole !!! You can't even WIN gracefully and hold your hand out and say well done, pathetic !!! I notice you haven't seen any moans from the Somerset Faithful !!! You Dorset Wallah's must have bloody miserable lives. Although Garry May comes from that neck of the woods, he's as happy as a pig in the proverbial at the moment !!! Enjoy your Speedway, when you get your own way !!! Which won't happen !!!

Well judging on our present form and the result Swindon had against Poole 45-45, I am feeling upbeat about the match on Friday. Although we have our problems with our No 1 at the moment, I don't think our rookie Premiership team are doing to bad at this time. Bring it on Boys !!!

When Somerset went into the Premiership I was delighted that we wouldn't have to go to Scotland anymore or read the garbage that Glaswegian fans came up with, making excuses for losing and moving goal posts to make the write up go in their favour or at least to make them believe it was in their favour ! Goodbye and good riddance I say! But now look ! We have POOLE !!! "If this and if that and this guest was not suitable and that guest was not up to it, the track was dusty, the tractor driver failed to salute me, a POOLE fan" !!! If I was Garrity and read some of the bulls**t that is directed at his efforts to guest for you lot last night, I would turn my back next time. It is POOLE'S fault they need a guest in the first place by hiring a rider that has about as much loyalty as a lettuce devouring slug !!! As for dust bowls !!! I would say pot calling the kettle grimy backside. Get over it and play the cards you are dealt with !!! POOLE doesn't warrant anymore preferential treatment than any other Team in the league !!! Nice to see a good turnout from POOLE last night, I wonder did the SOMERSET fans leave Wimborne Road before the termination of the match ? Unlike your fans who couldn't wait to get out because Somerset had the audacity to put 4 points over you ! Still you went away with a league point to add to your 3 in the morning so you had a fruitful day. One thing I am glad about is that although Somerset fans felt a bit low after the morning match and enjoyed the return match, they have still got their sense of humour and don't look for anyone else to blame for their team's shortfalls and look forward to the next match, LEICESTER !!! Look forward to the rest of your season GLAS - - - Sorry, POOLE !!!

I have just read through the last 3 to 4 pages of this thread and it has become apparent that you Poole crowd can't even win a match gracefully without carping at each other and generally whinging about what would have happened if the dog hadn't stopped to sh one t. I guess he would have probably caught the rabbit !!! If KK had done this or that and if this that and the other. I reckon if he is in Poland he's better off staying there he obviously hasn't any loyalty to you crowd and who can blame him !!!??? Have a safe visit to the OTA this evening and for god sake cheer up, you won this morning !!!

Lasse and Jake were mixing it in close proximity to each other, it was on the edge of the seat stuff, it happened right in front of me. They were giving no quarter, it was inevitable that it was going to end in tears for one of them and I reiterate, one of the them !!! It could have gone either way, it just so happened it was Lasse got to bite the shale, it could have, quite easily been the other way and Lasse would have been out. That, my friend is speedway. It was a racing incident !!!
