Leigh Lanham is one of the nicest blokes to grace our sport. I am about the same age as his dad Mike and I watched him in the 70s, another top bloke ! Enjoy your speedway from the other side of the fence now Leigh and enjoy the time with your family. I was always impressed with the way you were immaculately turned both personally and your equipment, A1. If there is ever an ambassador to the sport and someone for youngsters to look to as a role model, your the man ! I enjoyed you riding for the Rebels and when they let you go I was fuming but you were mature about the whole thing and moved on in that same professional manner that you always have and gave your best to Scunny and Rye. Good luck Leigh Lanham and thanks for the entertainment. Your brother is also in the same mould and I am sure he will be missed around the pits.

Ah well !!! At least Kurtzettes and the Holderettes will be happy !!!! Better tell the track shop to stock loads of "We want Brady" and "We Want Jack" Silk scarves in !!! It'll be like "Bay City Roller Mania" all over again or was it "Bros". Shang-a-lang !!! By the way ! HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY !!!

Thanks for your predictions guys ! Either way I am sure Gazza will give us a good, competitive side. Thing is I've been in a speedway vacuum since 1978 and have only been back watching speedway at the Oaktree for the past three years, I was just getting used to all the changes there have been since 78 and now we have not just gone to a higher level but a new format as well !!! I'm not too familiar with the riding personell that's on offer at this level so it's all a bit daunting for my 1951 brain box !!! Add to that the doubling up and I am all at sea with it !!! . Roll on the new season and I suppose all will become apparent !!!

Has anybody got any calculated ideas or guesses on what our team might be for next season. We know Josh Graj has gone, we also know Zach Waj has moved on.

Don't think he will be with us as he cited traveling as one of the reasons for the move to Tigers. Good luck to Josh and Sheffield for next season he has been a good servant to Rebels. !

It said nothing definite in the Star ! It just asked the question if Somerset were destined for the Elite and were not we're, we're destined for the Premiership and in the format that's laid out I feel hopeful, there are bound to be transition snags but on the whole I think it will be good for the Club. Look at the visiting fans we will get for a start ! Poole, Swindon and the Midlands clubs. GO REBELS !!! ROLL ON MARCH 2017!!!

Somerset going into the Elite League would be suicidal in my view. Kiss of death !!! .
