Obviously Private Snafu and Seaman Tarfu are hiking down the Fubar trail !!

Bit of a harsh remark. Alex struggled all night at Leicester, with a couple of bikes that were 'dogs' on the night. His problems were mechanical (carburettor) and nothing to do with lack of effort or talent. Maybe a little research wouldn't have gone amiss before posting.............you clearly didn't read the match report !!

Merv Marsh Rip (somerset Speedway)
womble53 replied to orderly's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I'd just like to add to the sentiments expressed above. I was extremely saddened by the news when I received it yesterday. Merv was one of those who worked behind the scenes at Somerset, summer and winter to ensure that the OTA was in top shape for the seasons ahead, and that speedway continues to thrive in Somerset. He'll be sadly missed, not just for his expertise and experience in consruction and general upkeep of the place, but also for his enthusiasm, and personailty. My condolences go out to his widow and the rest of his family & friends. R.I.P. Merv, a top man who will be missed by all. -
I've read some rubbish in my time, but this must rank as one of the most stupid things I have ever read !! Do you really think that a rider would take his own team mate out in an important match, and risk injuring him and possibly put him out for the remainder of the match or longer, just to give that same rider he was taking out, and possibly injuring, a better chance in a re-run ? I think you must have been at the Broon !!

Is Speedway Too Expensive Now ?
womble53 replied to Super Blue's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
You obviously don't watch football at the Emirates !! Bit of a misniomer that one Phillipsr, it might have been a tenner against Coventry last night, but the cheapest adult ticket for this weekends game against Chelsea is £62.00, and with a pie and a pint that would pay for nearly 5 speedway meetings, and the top priced ticket would probably pay for 5 Grand Prix admissions....................so do you still think Speedway is expensive, don't think so !! -

Have The Cardiff Tickets Been Sent Out Yet?
womble53 replied to kluson's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
If anyone is still looking for tickets, I have three £38 tickets for Block N1, which is on the second bend, looking down the back straight. They are 8 rows from the front of the block, which is the first tier above the ground level. We have been booking these same seats for several years now as they give you a really good view of the first/second bend action. They were for family members who now cannot attend, so I am looking to sell them on, rather than waste them. If anyone is interested in buying one or all or them, please send me a PM to discuss it. Kind Regards Dave Thompson (Womble53) UPDATE>>>>> 2 taken, so only one ticket left Note to Mods, if this posting contravenes any forum rules, please let me know and I will remove it ASAP. -

It's a real shame, especially at Zolder in particular. Just a few miles (Ooops sorry Kilometers as we are taliking about the Continent ) down the road you have the Zolder race circuit, which still has 9 motor racing events to run this year, including a 24 hour race, and when its running it can be heard from the town centre quite easily. The other thing about the speedway track is that it is in an old industrial area, at the end of town, opposite an old coal mine, and whilst there are quite a few houses around it's not right on a heavily populated part of town, like Blijham in Holland for instance, which backs on to a very large residential area, with house on the opposite side of the lane. The club who run the speedway are great people, and for an amateur club, run a very professional set up, and desrve to be successful, so a rain off like this is a big blow, as the profit from this meeting would have gone on to help finance the Golden Helmet meeting, and allow them to invite some higer grade riders, which would help in attracting the crowds in future. You can find their website here, and it currently has some photos of the aftermath of the rain on Sunday, as well as information about the club etc. As I said before a quick whizz through the Google Translator will help get the idea.

Wouldn't have thought so MP, they only have 3 meetings a year (noise restrictions I think), and as they practiced on Saturday and ran a few Rookie races on Sunday before the rain really set in, I should think that was classed as meeting number two for the year, so the next action will be on the weekend of 1st & 2nd of September for the Golden Helmet. On Sunday they held on and held on, but to no avail, as the rain wouldn't relent. We all got very wet, as Jesper can no doubt attest to, and the poor lad drove all the way back from Gorzow (nearly 600 miles), just to get a soaking.

The second event of the Belgium 2012 season takes place this weekend, when the Speedway Fan Club hosts a Four Team Tournament at the Helzoldstadion in Heusden-Zolder. The teams are the local Helzold Stars headed by Denmark's Peter Juul Larsen, an they take on the Long Eaton Invaders, with Tomasz Piscz at the helm, Team Veenoord with Dane, Anders Vad, who finished on the podium of the recent Helzold Chapionship, heading them up, and they also included another finalist from that event, Randy Oldeziel. MSC Diedenbergen round of the line up, and they have Ukrainian rider Kiril Tsukanov leading the way. MSC Diedenbergen also feature Marc Riss, son of former World Longtrack legend, Gerd Riss. Full details of the event can be found here. It is in Flemish, but a quick whizz of the Google translator will give you the basics, and since the preview was posted there have been a couple of changes to the line up. I know that some of the Brits won't be there, but Nico and the team have drafted in additional riders to take the spots left vacant, so a full field is expected to take to the huge Helzoldstadion circuit. So if you fancy a speedway fix and your in the vacinity of Zolder, I'm sure the guys at the Speedway Fanclub will be pleased to see you, both on practice day, Saturday, and the day of the event on Sunday. The forecast for the day isn't special, but I know from experience the SFC will do there upmost to provide a full programme on the day.

Another terrific outing for Nathan Stoneman tonight, wish I'd have gone tonight, was thinking I might earlier today, instead I worked late........DOH !! Great showing Nate, keep on piling in the points -
Another good day for Nathan Stoneman, shame about the EF in Heat 2, but these things happen. Keep racking up the points mate, your doing fine. Hope Josh is ok, and will soon be back in the plate.

Tried that already, they have not updated their site with the result, which is strange considering they're the organising club. Anyway have now been able to get the full results from another source, which is as follows: 1st Jason Doyle 36pts; 2nd Max Dilger 29; 3rd Ty Proctor 26; 4th Cory Gathercole 24; 5th James Wright 23; 6th David Bellego 23; 7th Mariusz Fierlej 19; 8th Oliver Allen 19; 9th Jacek Rempala 18; 10th Mat tresarrieu 17; 11th Kenny Ingalls 14; 12th Zdenek Zimota 12; 13th Mark Lemon 10; 14th Tomas Suchanek 9; 15th Stephane Tresarrieu 9; 16th Maks Gregoric 7; 17th Matic Voldrih 7; 18th Justin Sudgemen 5. Great performance by Doyley to go unbeaten in this field. Surprise for me was the performance of Max Dilger in second spot. Who although he has improved his UK performances since his time with Edinburgh, never seems to to be able to translate his continental form into his UK league racing. From a personal point of view, it was good to see the Rebels represented so well with our 2 participants, both in the top 5. Als many thanks to 'Vincent' & 'Knightofcydonia' for posting the finishing order above.

There are usually numerous classes in this meeting, as well as the main International class (Trophée Labarthe). Brendan rode in the next class (Trophée Inter RMA), and added victory to last years runner up spot, great result for him, well done Bren. Anyone else got any info about the main class please.
