  1. Try. Breathing. On. The. Coma's. Mate.........that helps, a bit Found. I. Had. A. Few. Full. Stops. Hanging. Around. So. I. Thought. I'd. Use. Them. Here. To. Equalise. My. Two. Posts.............The only trouble is I've used up all the capital letters from my next post
  2. How do you know he doesn't ? It's the team managers decision who he nominates for Heat 15, and with the last four home meetings not being close, he's been able to put in others who qualified for the heat. With Brady being the only one who didn't take at least a point from those races, who can say he was wrong, not me. In the home meeting previous to those four, against Plymouth, when the score was tight, he rode H15, and the one before that he crashed and had to withdraw from the meeting. Against Newcastle he had bike problems all night, retiring from his last ride and only scoring 5-points. Away from home in the challenge at Plymouth the two top scorers rode, with Ollie being the third highest, he rode in H15 in LC match at Peterborough, and was the only Rebel to scores a point, at Ipswich he rode H15 and fell, at Newcastle he was ill, and didn't ride in the meeting, because of his crash at home against Peterborough we ran R/R in the next two away meetings, at Plymouth he had a bad night, and didn't complete a race, and was replaced in his last ride, so he would never have been put in H15 under the circumstances, at Redcar another poor night, meant others were put in, and at Workington in the KO Cup match, where we needed to keep the scores tight, he rode H15 and fell. Given all that, there is nothing in there that tells me he doesn't want to ride Heat 15, more likely he wasn't able to ride, or the team managers decision was that he didn't ride.
  3. O.S.S., In a situation such as last nights encounter it's my belief that another good measure of a teams superiority is the number of last places, or more to the point, lack of them, they run..............I think in this area, Rebels 2 and Comets 13 also tells its own story
  4. No mention of Ollie tonight then? .........how long did you say it would be before he lost his team place
  5. That was a quick about face.......What happened to 'We believe' ?
  6. You're wasting your time Nick, it's no good asking him a question he can't answer, as his time is all taken up by posting negative comments about certain members of the team all the time. I wouldn't mind if he did it from a position of actually being there half the time. If he had, he would not have made the stupid comment about the heat leaders being disappointing at Derwent Park, as he would have seen what actually happened. He even suggested that Ollie was on borrowed time, and that there could be a rider change................Mind you I didn't see any comments about Ollie's performance the following night, when he top scored with 11+1. I wonder why that was?
  7. Why would you think I was blaming the BSPA ?. I was just asking the question for two reasons 1. Because the Visa rules seem pretty straight forwards and easy to understand to me. I was just reading through the Visa and Immigration rule, and if these are applied correctly by the Home Office, then the fault must lie elsewhere. Where would you suggest that is in the two cases I commented on above? 2. Because we are dealing with an organisations that appears not to know its own rules, in the Proctor/Sheffield case, therefore why would you expect anything it says on Visa rules to be 100% So there you go, no leaked information involved here, could the same be said for you?
  8. This would suggest that none of the above is correct (you did say 'without knowing for certain'), and there appears to be no necessity that a second employer is named, as the requirement for a new application only applies if you are seeking secondary employment outside your sector of employment, in which your main job resides. From the Uk Visas and Immigration section on the Home Office Website (Here): 'You’ll need to make a new Tier 2 (Sportsperson) visa application if you want to do a second job that isn’t in the same sector as your main job or isn’t voluntary work. You can do a second job (up to 20 hours a week) that is on the shortage list without making a new application'. Once again, according to the same source as above, anyone on a T5 Visa (As Doyle is), can work for up to 20 hrs per week for a second employer, so it begs the question, who was it that put the single job restriction on Doyle............Answers on a postcard to ACU Headquarters Wood Street Rugby Warwickshire CV21 2YX United Kingdom From the Uk Visas and Immigration section on the Home Office Website (Here): What you can and can’t do You can: work for your sponsor in the job described in your certificate of sponsorship do a second job in the same sector and at the same level as your main job for up to 20 hours per week do a job on the shortage occupation list for up to 20 hours per week work as a sportsperson for your national team and as a sports broadcaster if you’re here under the sporting subcategory bring your family
  9. What Jim Bowen's in Speedway now !!.............Can't beat a bit of Bully
  10. Rock and a hard place mate..........B4E at home, and her family in the 'Frozen North'.........Don't fancy your chances
  11. Treading in thin ice there aren't we Shadders..........I can see you getting a very frosty reception the next time you travel to the 'Frozen North'
  12. What do you mean won't let him out..........he's the only bloke I know that brings his Mrs to Speedway, then leaves her in the Car Park for the whole meeting.......the mans a legend !!
  13. Hi Cliffeboy, Were you the guy we were talking to at the starting gate, telling us about your father and Somerset? That sounds like our Cliffeboy............You must have been one of the people stood in front of me
  14. It may have something to do with repositioning the start/finish line to the same location, as last year they were separated. The start line was nearer to the last turn, and the finish line nearer to the first bend, as I recall. When I came for the Somerset match I thought it actually looked bigger with the air fence in place. Mind you I only see it a small number of times a year when the Rebels visit.
  15. On the evidence of Friday evening he can do it from the back too......stunning ride
  16. No she doesn't.....she has a secret yearning to be a Rebel.........must do as she appears on more Somerset threads than Starman
  17. Certainly not with you SK, as normally you take a more considered view, but there are some people in particular, who only ever post on Somerset threads in a vitriolic and negative manner, which does tend to ruffle the nasal hairs of some of our supporters I'm fairly sure it wasn't done on a whim, but was a considered and well thought out decision. The original decision to let Nick Morris go was taken because of the large number of meetings he would potentially miss, as his intention was apparently to run in the World U21 individual Championship, and his absence would have only been covered by RR, as we still had Jason Doyle in the team at this point. Doyley's visa issues looked like being sorted in Somerset's favour at that time, with no problems about him doubling up. Since then Nick has decided that he now won't go for the U21's, thus drastically reducing the number of meetings he will miss to a more manageable level, and not too far from the number that Ty would have missed. This is probably also a possible factor in the Promotion's decision to let Ty go. In 2011 Travis McGowan came in on a 9.09 average, from his previous season with Glasgow, and didn't fire at all, but the very same promotion, who are now being vilified, stuck with him. By the time they had decided that things were not improving, and he was released, his rolling average was down to 7.49, whilst his actual average for the season was down to a woeful 6.64, leaving them with a bit of a problem to find a replacement for a rider that had started the season as the out and out No 1 So with Ty's early season form being a long way off what was expected, maybe they felt that it was a case of 'once bitten twice shy'
  18. The feeling's mutual........the 'Queen of Verbal Diarrhoea' strikes again That quote alone shows how little you understand about the rules of Speedway, the UK border Agency surrounding the current visa situation, and the Somerset promotion. You really should learn the facts before you take to the keyboard............mind you it's never stopped you in the past, nor I doubt it will stop you in the future You're doing a pretty good job for Worky yourself
  19. No problem Lewy, easy mistake to make. That's the trouble when someone is so vocal about a team, especially when they actually support someone else. All the actual fans of that team get tarred with the same brush
  20. Lewy, to be frank you are totally wrong. You really need to go back and re-read the Plymouth thread covering Mark Lemons 'Release' from the Devils, as there is not one negative post from any Somerset fan. The only person, who you may feel is vaguely associated with Somerset who posted in the manner you describe, is actually a Poole fan. If I'm wrong, and I don't think I am, or you can find post on other threads, where Somerset fans have berated the Devils for releasing him, then I will hold my hands up and apologise..........but as it stands I only see one person who did that, and we all know that he has his own very 'Starry' outlook on things
  21. Team now being introduced at P&P.....some great news to come out of it for Rebels fans
  22. I know exactly what it says, as I have been pointing people in it's direction for ages now on other threads, and this. My point is that it doesn't matter at all how you or I interpret the rule, as if at the end of the application process the UKBA accepts a riders request for a T5 visa, be it Alex Davies or any other applicant, they will have made their decision based on their interpretation of their own rules, no matter what we think of the merits of the applicant. In real life decisions are rarely Black and White, and many are based on the many shades of grey in between............especially where Government agencies are concerned
