Riders will contact Glasgow if they pay better. It is their career after all. Heard their £s per point is one of the best but what attracts riders is the scale of signing on fees. Now apparently staggered payments over the season. As mentioned by previous posters Tiggers can do what they want as can other teams BUT riders now quote Glasgow figures to other Clubs who can ill afford their demands.

Said it often but he should be trying to get a team in Sweden. 2020 vision will not be enhanced by competing in what seems to be a severely diluted 2nd tier league. Financially makes sense but not for any career ambitions to make and COMPETE in GPS.

Take it Cookie won’t be back “home” but will be heading to Land of Milk and Money. Are the promotion planning to sell him?

Like the team Kevlars. But ...... expensive business way teams hire and fire mid season.

Mauger with his consistency would probably have won more world titles if it had been in GP form when he rode.

Workington v Edinburgh 29/09 7:00pm koc 2nd leg
Endeavour replied to topaz325's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Just in from Workington - totally gutted BUT credit where credits due. Well done to the Comets. A total team performance, working for each other. A very jaded looking Eric tonight. Hope the Comets do the double. Laura has been a great supporter and friend to Edinburgh and no one would deserve some silverware more. A great performance clawing that deficit back. Take a bow Workington.- 151 replies

Glasgow’s to lose. Cookie has galvanised them on and off track.

Hurting like hell after that doing. Agree with Mags, sorry to hear a minority of fans booing Cookie. Viktor looked far from fit, bit like Lawson’s 8 year old bike. Yes Cookie was back to his sublime best and has to earn a living but it sure is hard watching him in Weegie Kevlars thumping us. Not only miss him in team on track but his ability to galvanise the team off track too. Glasgow riders wanted it more. Don’t see Ipswich beating Tiggers. Can but hope but forecast not too good for Dale on Friday either.

How many tracks do provide consistent “racing” Check the Speedway updates , how many FTGs are there in nearly every match. Apart from Belle Vue there are many gate and go races on the updates. Track was overly grippy first few races on Friday but Richard Lawson only dropped a point in his last 3 rides. I would like to see a statement from Edinburgh telling us what the team is for Tuesday (weather permitting) and how our Swedish boys are.

Workington v Edinburgh Ch 01/09/18 7:00pm
Endeavour replied to topaz325's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Just in from Workington. Think we deserved the point and Monarchs were a tad fortunate with Nicolai having bike problems. Reserves for Workington tanked our two so well done to young Kyle. Any two from our top 4 could have been in heat 15. On reflection maybe would have put Ricky off 4. Hope both of us make play offs, Laura deserves it. -
Don’t know how this one will go. Would settle for 50 40 but a) which Ben Barker will turn up? b) Hope tracks is like a fortnight ago and not last week. c) Starke and Serjeant can be handy round Dale if they gate. Bomber all gives it a 100%. Vissing quite handy this year. d) Need our reserves scoring. Maybe Lawson will have a new Hoover engine. e) Come on Richie

Sheffield v Edinburgh 23/08/18
Endeavour replied to 4thbender's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Hoping rather than confident of an Edinburgh win. Sheffield bound to hit some semblance of their true form soon. -
Don’t think we will win title Gazc. A lot of matches to ride to even get into playoffs. Weather forecast not looking good for either Armadale or Glasgow on Friday. Hope for teams who already have points in the bag. Will say again big gamble bringing Lawson back.
-
Desperation or a master stroke ? Feel sorry for Max although surprised he was signed again given that we still had to go away in the league to 3 bigger tracks. Lawson hardly set the heather on fire at the Caledonian Riders meeting. Undoubted talent but a big ask to turn the clock back. Hope it works out.

Berwick v Edinburgh 11/08/2018 Championship @7pm
Endeavour replied to screm's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Don’t think Max has ever found his way to ride bigger tracks let alone lost it. Our reserves were poor and while Josh is exciting to watch he needs to address his gating problems. Points make prizes and the Bandits won fair and square with a great team effort. We need our three heat leaders firing on all cylinders if we want to make play offs. -
Belle Vue v King's Lynn 06/08/18
Endeavour replied to Bagpuss's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Monarchs fan taking in this match. Five ex and one current Edinburgh rider in the match so really enjoyed out. re heat 15. Surprised to see Dan off gate 4, only one winner from that gate all night. Thought the obvious choice would be Bewley off 2 and Fricke off 4. Cookie seemed a bit subdued last night, hope he picks up at Kings Lynn and GP.
