  1. so torun plan to build lots of flats as well steve ??
  2. not quite true starman,i agree with ove fan promoters can and do channel sponsors toward certain riders nothing wrong with that, might depend on the promoters investment in that rider, rider potential, future return on investment in that rider or full filling contract obligations. i do know a couple of occasional poole sponsors that were recently invited to matts house to meet brady and have a chat, they actually declined not wishing to commit at the moment.(does illustrate the relentless efffort matt does put in)of course next time they might go for it.
  3. if klindt is low scoring when he goes into the top 5,he'll just get 3 rides, then drop back down to reserve again and off we go.
  4. christina was certainly an excellent choice of guest last night, superb interaction with the rest of the panel, intelligent, great sense of humour, called a spade a spade, definitely a hit with the fans and seemed to really enjoy the evening.(i hope my description hasnt clouded your fantasies fig roll lol)
  5. getting a visa for poland might be the least of their problems, language, accommodation, air fares, vans, workshops, sponsors, travelling half way round the world and not getting a ride, remember they cant ride in polish team as a reserve,if riding not getting paid!didnt havvy say recently hes owed money by every polish club he ever rode for.doesnt affect chris holder etc young aussies want to be carefull what they wish for
  6. the aussie riders have to be carefull they dont dig their own graves, matt said if british clubs didnt bring young aussies over anymore speedway in austraila would be finished in a few yrs,he sort implied that if the polish situation got worse(he thought next yr the rules would apply to all polish leagues)he wouldnt be bringing any more young aussies over, they need british speedway more than we need them
  7. with the purpose built uni flats behind the bus station that area is already on the uni bus route.could easily drop off at the stadium, just need to offer special deal for certain matches,or dare i say free entry(hope matt ford doesnt hurt himself if he reads that and falls over!!)horse racing has really tried to attract the students with some amazing success
  8. think the hall green site was a bit different to say the least the planning committee rejected the application for development, some weeks later the full council decided it didnt have sufficient spare funds to pay the legal costs reqd to fight the inevitable appeal so reversed the decision and granted permission
  9. interesting skids, what weak link or links will be kicked into touch ???pray tell.
  10. i added bt sports package today, was paying 47.99 for bt landline unlimited free w/end calls and bt infinity 1 unlimited broadband, offered complete bt sports package free for first 3 mths then 7.50,but with a new broadband 12mth contract (same package) willpay38.99 first 3mths then 46.49 per month,so this evening im paying less than i was this morning and ive now got the bt sport package included, crazy world! all up and working through sky plus box in 10 minutes.i might have been paying to much before i suppose but hey ho cheap speedway
  11. there is considerable truth in that post dj in more ways than one ??
  12. as a fellow poole supporter good to have you back from a presumable ban but please just chill, and dont be rude to people, were all speedway fans, and follow a rule ive imposed dont post after 5pints of cider!! (thats me finished for tonite)
  13. certainly an early contender for worst language of the year,no need for it,were all speedway fans.
  14. agree, had different problems myself, ended up taking out "sky protect" thats another 9.99 per month just for an easy life, subsequently had new sky dish fitted and new sky plus box installed, all covered on the policy. dont agree with it but if you want to watch the sports they have you by the nuts
  15. i say again rob there arent enough dogs these days for both tracks
  16. rob i certainly never said stadia uk were looking to buy oxford stadium they would look for lease to run the dogs, doesnt the consortium of fans plan rely on the council purchasing the site via the community purchase order? the owners who really are galliards in disguise are very powerfull, lots of clout and would surely fight that proposal vigorously
  17. around 90% of greyhounds that race in england come from ireland steve, where they are bred, reared and schooled before being sold to england, and ironically the irish breeding is in decline, they have their own problems.there is now only one track open in the capital city dublin, and strong rumours about several provincial tracks closing. as post57 says speedway and greyhounds share a path.the common enemy of both sports has been the developer. the point is rob if stadia uk move their greyhound operation from swindon to oxford do you think they would build a new stadium at swindon solely for swindon robins?? quite honestly theres no chance.however its not certain stadia uk would "get" oxford stadium as i understand there are at least 4 prospective greyhound promoters with their hat in the ring to take it on,and the owners of course are still determined to filll it with houses
  18. if speedway ever returns to oxford it will be an oxford team not a swindon team
  19. the simple reasoning is that both swindon and oxford are or were both principally dog tracks and there are now not enough dogs around to support racing at both tracks(remember around 100 dog tracks have closed in the last 30 yrs) so unfortunately it would be swindon or oxford tragically not both
  20. seen shanes on the grass several times and he is one helluva of motorcyclist, but this season is massive jump for him, once hes sorted a quick engine for wimborne rd he will get a few pts, will get great support at home from the fans.(good to see matt developing young british talent)
  21. might not need to demolish the existing stadium its pretty close to falling down
