  1. not sure he had any interest in speedway poole or other until recently
  2. those combinations could be a big gamble based on last yrs crowd figures, going to be a very strong team anyway, think the last signings have to be a financial fit as much as anything
  3. poole fans that wanted either of the holder sisters back are in the minority, but it is possibly an attractive average, just hope we dont have to endure a season on here of excuses every week about the poor chaps "personal problems"
  4. what pees me off is the knocking of speedway riders on the forum when 99%of us on this forum wouldnt have the balls to do one full speed lap on a speedway bike
  5. as old racer says ray how can ford legally ask for a transfer fee, with bosman as a legal guideline it would be a very quick legal judgement
  6. how do all these young people find the time to read these 10s of thousands of facebook pages they are linked into? shouldnt they be working or studying? or isnt that" hip "anymore? lol (dont take this post to seriously bfm)
  7. fair point matt but you still have april, may and part of june plus part of sep say for 3 student specials, dont suppose the thousands that go to the horses are serious punters.£6 admission, free raffle for 10 winners to visit the pits, free raffle 2 winners ride on the parade lap, free raffle 20 winners watch 2 races from the centregreen in groups of 5,fancy dress competition best 5 do parade lap as passenger on 500cc sidecars, sidecar races in interval, give free admission ticket to every student for a nightclub in bournemouth sure to be a club that would go for that, if they comeback its normal student prices or perhaps they will visit a track when they are home
  8. you wont find any holidaymakers in the town centre unless its pouring with rain then the speedways off, target the beaches and beach car parks perhaps, skidders right about students 20 thousand of them i believe but it has to be a special package like horseracing does perhaps 3 or 4 times a yr,but if your too tight to finance a package they certainly wont be interested
  9. opening for a few wks before xmas in an already empty unit(actually in a bad position) rent free and staffed by volunteers is excellent, saying it could become viable all yr round is insane, you wouldnt get past two quarters of rent and rates oh and wages.
  10. not sure about the 50p valuation lol, however any promoter would be totally insane to pay anywhere remotely close to the supposed asking price
  11. saying she is an " employee" skids implies she is paid ,just wondering?? ps her work looking after sponsors partys on racenite is excellent she is really really great with everyone
  12. matt ford quite sensibly not getting into a bidding war with a swindon promoter who has considerably more financial clout.shame as i think ellis would have been an excellent long term signing(unlike the poles who you pretty much know probably arent going to be around to long)
  13. heard on the terraces that the restaurant at blunsdon was closing in new yr
  14. good club to join i think for james and simon stead appears to have quickly developed a real ability to work with riders of all levels,so would expect a yr of improvement now, like many people have said it would be good for him to give speedway a real go,best of luck shane.(did we decide which club hes an asset of?)
  15. it seems matt has identified and is trying to resolve a definite weakness in the team as a certain member of the promotion was a serious liability in the "public relations" arena in fact any sphere of relations!!
  16. think your absolutely right there pp,possibly significant improvement, which makes you wonder why they weren't top of every clubs shopping list for next season, their supposed baggage seems to outweigh the attractiveness of their averages
  17. its mainly you who says matt ford has a lot of money bolton
  18. possibly similar standard riders but significant difference in cost?
  19. which is why ptw said he would rather have woryna
  20. good solid signing tho perhaps not a crowd pulling title winning one, still we have to be a little patient, think matt is having to curb his desire nay obsession to win the title with a stark awareness of the pretty low crowds last season and the predictions of little or no financial growth in uk for possibly many yrs,on the plus side for poole many more people will be staying in uk for hols, so that has to be one of the main target groups to aim at to bring to wimborne rd
  21. investing in rider assets might prove not to be the cleverest medium to long term financial strategy, remember that little known belgium footballer who totally changed the football world?
  22. if matt ford is required to make team changes through the season and he repeats last yrs mind blowing mid season changes then we wont be" blowing" anybody away, but hey ho i shall be there every week supporting what ever team he puts out and enjoying it.
