In a top ten certainly WK,Nigel was more of a 50s/60s, man and Les Collins would not be in my top 10 all time Brits. -
I dont see what the problem is, if you are not interested in reading something dont bother it is that simple keep it going Gustix.

He did have a gripe against Nielsen and he was very pleased when he beat Nielsen for the helmet. That day along with his brilliant BLRC wins showed how good he really was.He totally destroyed Nielsen at the Shay, and the Carter Dvd is worth getting for the footage against Nielsen/Lee in the Helmet a brilliant Dvd the best i have.

Great point he is entitled to be in that list. Ove i see Ashby ride alot and he was one hell of a rider i put Louis ahead just only because he did better on the world stage. -
When you said Lewis Kerr was the best rider then the alarm bells were ringing.Kerr,Toft,Auty,Douglas all have there moments but consistency is what they need a great win against Glasgow. And there aim now is to keep things tight on the road and win as many home meetings as possible.

Picked these five British greats out,and some go under the radar a bit when remembering how good they really were. The list consists of .Louis,Simmons,E.Boocock,Ashby,Ray.Wilson. here goes and i could look again and change my view constantly 1.Simmons. 2.Wilson, 3.Louis. 4.Ashby. 5.Boocock. Any thoughts...?

Thanks Pawel great stuff. -
Funny thing "BOBBATH" is i have plenty of pictures of Carter/Penhall together all smiles then so i dont think there relationship was always bad.And i can always remember Schwartz who were hardly friends having the grace to shake Carter's hand after winning the pairs with PC a great gesture i thought.Anyway you would probably know "BOBBATH" was there any truth in the Mauger Ivor Brown feud or was that a myth.?

I thought Carter got on very well with both Moran's ?

When looking back at Bewley's season in 2016,and as someone else eluded to on the thread his times are very quick he also has a very tidy riding style. It must be great for Vue fans to be able to follow Bewley's/Smith progress and also see them for the Colts.I feel envious of all the loyal Belle Vue fans but fair play to them they deserve it.

Am i missing something Riss has started the season very well. -
I have not been excited about a young English rider for a long long time maybe since Lee.What a ride that was against Kurtz i saw Bewley on Thursday he only scored three but he really impressed me Smith as well was on the pace and had a nice heat win.Going back to Poole this side is not good anough and changes are needed.

I never see him averaging that, where as a rider we let go in Sedgeman might of. Worrall for me is a step ahead last night his brilliant ht1 win over Doyle was awesome and as someone else said he is good in both leagues. -

Poole's track last year the first two bends horrendous would of been more suited to Banger Racing.😅 -

I really thought the Abbey track looked in good shape last night, unlike the scary filthy dreaded toilets on the back straight.😆I do think our bend two is very tricky now and it changes the shape of some of the races. -
Who Were The Real American Pioneers?
Sidney the robin replied to Sidney the robin's topic in Years Gone By
The Americans really took our strong BL by storm even the lesser lights like McConnell were great value. Our league was really strong and varied and to think that the likes of Penhall/Sigalos started at reserve a great time to watch speedway.
