  1. I see your point about Hume but as you say he has the speed i am afraid alot of the 2 pointers have not. Most of them have a year of struggle to look forward to but fingers crossed loads of Brits will break through.Going back to Hume maybe he needs a regular tutor ie like a Steve Lawson to keep him in check over his over riding and (trying to hard).
  2. I don't expect anything but the team so far has alot of question mark's in it ,Castagna is a bizarre signing but hey hope the Brummies do well.
  3. I hope you are right Bruv , i know Danyon has had his injury problems but i just presumed he was popular with the Brummie faithful.Danyon and Tom Bacon should of been the first two on the teamsheet anyway good luck to Tom at Redcar i see Tom at Swindon last year and he must be the most improved rider in the UK.
  4. This side to me looks like one that is destined to fail and looking at the signing's at other club's how harshly has Danyon Hume been treated.A dreadful decision riders like Bowtell,Wood,Kingsley,Smith,Clegg, Chessell, (etc) get spots Danyon gets shafted. He showed at Ipswich he can be a champs rider and now the league looks even weaker so disappointed riders like Danyon should be fixed up first.
  5. Swindon's reserves will be fine if this is the level.
  6. When you look at Covatti at reserve Swindon's reserves don't look to bad, don't see the fascination with him always inconsistent.
  7. Woodhull is a rider i like hope he pushes on.
  8. But Ashley who i like a lot and he has progressed really well but he has rode at two real homer tracks.Of course you have to be good anough to ride them and Ashley even in the top five did well Shanes will do ok
  9. I have never even considered a team without Musielak for me he was a shoe in.Batch who did a great job on his average he would of been a doubt but i am happy to have Troy back.
  10. So who is the better rider? i make my judgement on what i see everyweek.Palm Toft would be a great second string signing if we could of fitted him in third heat leader material No.Also Matt hopefully???? the track will change a wee bit that might change a few things maybe in our favour .I actually think 6.52 for Musielak is a steal going back to your point about the chequebook a very strange comment. Doyley is not cheap you know money does not grow on trees.
  11. The list you gave none of them are available are they ? Palm Toft really??? over Tobi he is not yet even a Championship no1 .Nick wanted a new challenge also his confidence at the Abbey was shot so that is why he moved.Of course Tobi needs to improve away, his performance at King's Lynn shows he is very capable i am more than happy to have him as a third heat leader.
  12. Also i believe the Poole track has to be prepared better for Jack to show his true form.I rate him very highly and for Poole to have any chance of doing well he has to score 10 plus at home most weeks.
  13. Rosco has built some great sides over the years and his record speaks for itself, so for me personally Hyabb17 i am very happy with the side.
  14. You have seen far more of Cook than me over the years so you could well be right. But my point was don't judge him up against Lambert who for me is a super talent who has a natural racing brain and is destined to be a regular top eight rider in the future.Bjerre can he shine in this watered down league yes of course he can but for me he is on the level of Hans Andersen who was once world class but is now on the slide.
  15. Musielak you have made it quite clear you don't like , for me this guy can improve he took a while to get the Abbey dialled in to but he got there in the end and at times looked terrific. This year the track might change so will we have a home advantage.?? who knows going by your comments Musielak would not be in your 1/7 REALLY!!!! . Forget his average can he improve and if you replaced him who would you replace him with in a watered down league.?
  16. Lambert is a mega talent Ace, don't even compare Cook to Lambert , he is up there In the same bracket as Drabik/Smektala we all knew he had talent the penny has dropped he has moved up a few levels.Craig is a different kettle of fish he had to work at it but your comments about him are mighty harsh and Bjerre who i like and have followed since his Newcastle days has at times been a blow out.Yes at times he will be mighty quick at home but could you 100 per cent rely on him ? i am not certain Fricke will be the number 1 anyway different gravy.
  17. I prefer Cookie Bjerre might be on the downward slide? but Belle Vue again will be exciting to watch.
  18. Holder is good but Fricke ahead at the moment.
  19. Would Jake Allen be better value on a lower average? he can also improve.See your point about Wells a steady Eddie type do think Tungate's home points will be really missed we shall see.
  20. Just looked a mixed bag really, 8 pts in the Craven (2017) 6 pts for Rye House (2017) - 2018. 2 pts from 5 rides in the 90th Anniversary meeting. and 4 pts from four rides for Leicester.
  21. I am not worried but you pesky Pirates could be come March time.!!!!
  22. An interesting theory Steve it could come good, my worry with that will you collect anough heat wins.? Thinking back Birmingham nearly won it with a workman like side ( before Doyley upped it) there trump card was Smolinski at reserve.
  23. Is Wells that great on the big tracks? i am not convinced he would do great at home away yes certainly can score useful points for me Wolves is his home.
