  1. Engine failures happen, that’s like penalties over the course of a season they even out, and if they don’t you’ve got to question machinery prep. the track is the same for everyone, I’m sorry but Richard Lawson is an exceptionally experienced rider so saying we were lucky the track suited king and barker and not him is utter rubbish - especially when lynn is typically a grippy track. we were also missing starke who ran up a big score at lynn last season so as big a miss as your riders. harris is great form and iversen less so, so no real difference. tj form up and down this season, 6+1 for his rides isn’t far off the mark. desperately sad the injuries jack sustained, think he’s looked like he’s really progressing well this season - but you can’t use him being out as an excuse when worrall the far superior reserve took his two vacated rides, if you’re pinning us being “lucky winners” on Mulford taking 1 ride in the meeting pure excuses, the better side on the night won
  2. That’s really rubbish for the lad, thought he was progressing well this season
  3. Winners make their own luck pal! same for everyone on the night and lynn got beat fair and square! What was lucky about it?
  4. And on Thursday Leicester released a statement saying he was no longer riding for them having asked to stand down
  5. Could Jeremy Doncaster be worth a gamble? If he finds 1988 form you could make a run for the playoffs
  6. Danny is suffering from mechanical issues, even at Poole he is not performing as well as he can but at the higher level it is probably showing up more against stiffer competition. He has found the problems with his engine, and he tried a new engine tonight without having a chance to practice on it and get it set up which he did after the meeting. He has found the problem, but it is not an instant fix, these things take time to be repaired and I have no doubt in a few weeks he will back at his normal level. From Richie’s meeting report, king’s bikes and engines are just not working for him atm, it’s been clear standing in the second bend exit coming off the turns he’s just not got enough speed and drive.
  7. King needs to sort his equipment out double lively, massively letting him down atm, not driving off start to the first turn, spinning coming off the turns and not drive and straight line speed down the back straight. Good to get the home win and keep the points going but really need our captains fortunes to improve rapidly I feel. assume the rumours I heard a week or two ago about Rowe supposedly wanting to drop uk speedway and focus on Poland are true then, no sign of a witches return with no real explanation and now dropping Leicester
  8. Appalling decision to exclude starke there, kemp came from miles back a la Nicki p
  9. Fair enough, I thought a number 8 could take up to 7 rides like a reserve so as all riders have their minimum 3 rides, either way can still have both Danyon and anders in attendance at meetings, I guess the issue comes in costs to Danyon travelling to meetings to not ride
  10. I’d have anders back in but have Danyon in attendance at no.8 at as many meetings as he’s available for, anyone in the side struggling he can come in can’t he, if he keeps on performing like Monday it’ll give the management a decision to make
  11. Ok so if 500 people attend at £20 if the promotion drop it to £10 they need double the amount of punters through the gates to make the same money…what assurances are there that they’ll get those punters through cos any less extra people the reduction gets they lose money. speedway is not an affluent sport, it’s run on fine margins, no promotion in this country is laughing their way to the bank are they. tbh the simple fact of the matter is British speedway in it’s current form gets little from being broadcast, they don’t get a great deal from the tv rights financially and it’s not exactly making more and more people turn up at tracks, more energy should be put into local advertisement and promotion than tv. it’s also quite unfair to tell a speedway promotion their product is worth less today just cos it’s on tv tonight, all their costs on staging are meeting are the same, riders earn the same etc etc. I don’t disagree speedway meetings without atmosphere are much much more rose and home teams certainly feed of the energy of a lively crowd and more people cheering them on from the terraces, but not at the cost of promotions taking big financial hits they can little afford.
  12. Could we not afford to pay Doyle to ride in heat 15 or something? Another top drawer move from the tactical genius Hawkins to gift belle vue a point
  13. I mean Doyle and riss teamed up for 2 5-1’s and a 4-2 heat advantages in their three shared heats against Lynn so I think it’s completely fair to see why he would stick with that.
  14. True would’ve been an incredible signing, but one thing that can be said about Chris Louis is he’s always run the club in a pragmatic and financially sound manner and if it was going to be far too expensive it’s not worth it for short term success but jeopardising long term security for the club. workington won every competition they enter red in their final season before having to shut so bringing in a game changer may have been great, but success in the season doesn’t necessarily bring in the extra finance to cover the team costs.
  15. Barker the obvious choice, has made a good start to the championship season and won’t be costing the earth above what heeps will have been compared to a continental 7pt rider. shame for heeps he’s a good kid, but I guess there comes a point where you’re not a kid no more and you’ve just simply got to be more professional and better prepared for the season, 2019 the season before covid him and Jake were a revelation at reserve and when riding in the team - no coincidence that that was the hardest he’d ever worked on his fitness and preparation in the off season.
  16. Track was much better prepared for home riders in the kings lynn match, nowhere near as slick
  17. Belle Vue is an unbelievable racetrack, but there’s little home advantage is there, every rider likes going there, got to get the set up right for sure but not got the same sort of home advantage of say monmore green or other smaller more technical tracks
  18. You think Fricke is going to average higher than doyle this season??
  19. Without a doubt, sheffield and ipswich much stronger than last season tho, kings Lynn not looking like front runners but they won’t be whipping boys next season, going to be a much more open season and imo wolves will be weaker this year than last
  20. Wolves will be entertaining and competitive again but not league contenders imo, worrall and kemp replacing Schlein and Nicol makes them a bit weaker than last season where they eventually fell short come the play offs
  21. Can add kings Lynns ploughed field of the past few seasons to that too if you’re gonna throw shade from your arm chair, tracks been absolutely dreadful every time I’ve visited in each of the past 3/4 seasons
  22. They wouldn’t reduce crumps average after he’d been retired for 7 years so can’t imagine they’ll be arsed changing tai average the other way either
