Ipswich v King's Lynn 11 August
89buttons replied to Roger Jacobs's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
26-34 We can still make the playoffs….oh…not now hahaha nice to see the 2 minute rule actually being upheld, Klindt taking the Michael and rightly punished -
He’s half decent around Foxhall tbf. Expect him to do a decent enough job, especially starting at reserve

We’re lulling belle vue into a false sense of security in preparation for the play offs haha -

For sure not expecting a win as such, but 100% our mentality going into to every meeting now is that we can and are trying to win that meeting, home and away. batch been getting better and better lately, tungate an unknown but went well at nss when he was a home rider, and the track most similar to the continental tracks he’s been riding all year so it’s the best track for him to return to uk speedway at I’d say. real shame this meeting isn’t being televised -

Looking for a point!!!!????? We’re coming looking for a win mate! -
Completely agree, imagine if he’d have got injured Thursday night riding for a club that has already sacked him and effectively halved his earning potential for the rest of this season, and then his earning potential falls to zero
-
I mean he left in 2015 aged 25 he’s returning 7 years older and wiser, I know I’m a really rather different bloke now than I was aged 25 8 years ago…

Decent moves that definitely strengthen us up heading into the playoffs, real shame for the outgoing lads, sadly injuries play a big part in speedway. difficult situation Ben finds himself in, the reality is even if he’s innocent that likely means he readings came up non negative due to him being so dosed up on legal painkillers due to riding with injuries, tbh I’m much happier moving forward with 7 fully fit riders. surely Rohan has grown up a bit since he last rode for us and ruffled the feathers of almost everyone, either way he’s a decent little rider and if we’re gonna be champions we’re likely going to have to beat belle vue over two legs and he was very fast around the nss when riding for them in the past. aaron has been banging in points since his return to the sport, have no qualms he’ll big a valuable asset for the witches, I believe he’ll start at reserve too which surely makes him one of the straightest reserves in the league

Kings Lynn vs Ipswich August 4th

Best no.1 we’ve had in decades, out and out winner, but also seems to absolutely thrive of entertainment too, absolutely box office, went up to lynn with my dad and uncle last night first time we’ve made the trip since the lockdowns etc and Doyle a huge reason why. been impressed with his integration and commitment to helping the other riders too, super encouraging hearing his words on Danyon in the programme a couple of weeks ago, along the lines of “Dan will go far and keep improving because he engages and listens” -
And summers current champ average 6.21 would be converted instead of old prem average used I would think, if the conversion is still 1.5 that would make him 4.14
-
Very cryptic, good to know the management are moving quickly tho, not a lot of available riders and erik’s injury and bens situation a nightmare given how good a position we’d got ourselves into in the league. if willing summers an obvious choice given his form for Oxford, I’m guessing maybe Jorgensen the other as widely reported leaving kings lynn and decent around Foxhall
-
Source? in time for kings lynn Thursday?
-
Why on earth would we want to bring Rowe back into the fold at this stage of the season for someone like starke. for whatever reason clearly doesn’t want to be riding for Ipswich in the uk atm whereas starke gives his absolute all for the club every race start to finish
-
Yep and levishyn the young Ukrainian while we’re at it too!!
-
Possibly need to be looking for a 28 day temp replacement then. not many riders around of course, Aaron summers maybe the best option at the moment, if he’s even interested in riding both leagues

Ipswich v Sheffield 21st July

In part I agree, however in the current economic crisis, if we had another 10 meetings at home and we’re riding basically every week, how many people would be picking and choosing what meetings they attended anyway, finding another £200 for 10 more meetings plus travel costs etc isn’t easy for a lot of people right now -

The track has produced some really really good raving the last 3 meetings, credit where credit is due, bob and Chris have got it right. -

Before the season began someone on here told me Doyle was on the way down and max fricke would finish the season comfortably the best rider in the league - whoever that was I hope you see this post hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahahahahahahaha Doyle’s on the way down haahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha ha -
They needed a 5-1 to claim a point

Were you at the meeting? The suggestion zagar wasn’t trying tonight is utter bs -
Absolute farce that the witches miss the opportunity to collect a league point due to the Sheffield staff’s inability to repair the fence

From the clip shown pretty damning on starkes part. at the time of the event I felt Doyle having gone to the outside initially stood the bike up very hard and changed his line cutting back a lot harder than it looks in the video and felt once committed to a line starke had little time to adjust and avoid him cutting back. The angle of the video doesn’t really support that and I guess end of the day if you’re in front you can ride whatever line you want in theory can’t you. -
Don’t know what or who the answer is but we really need a dependable no.5 when the business end of the season is reached. doyle can’t do it all alone at the top end. maybe Chris Louis needs to ask guy for an engine for Troy as well, seems to have helped Danny

Harris robbed us at the start in his first ride so swings and roundabouts
