Missing riders / guests / rider replacement is now rampant in our sport. It is a rarity to have 2 complete teams !!!!! -
Presenters And Announcers
Gunner85 replied to LondonSpeedwayFan71's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
The most important thing is to have a good knowledgeable announcer. No presenter on the centre green is better than a poor one who can do damage. For many years at Hyde road we had Bernard Tennant and Ken Wrench who were both good announcers and there was no need for a centre green presenter. Dick Barrie had a stint at Belle Vue... he was entertaining as long as you realised he was just trying to be witty and entertaining with no real malice intended.. unless you took him literally in which case you might have been annoyed with some of his comments -

Hope that new signings are on the horizon and Scunthorpe have a good meeting. -
Chris Holder Average Farce At Kings Lynn
Gunner85 replied to mudflaps's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
With no rolling aves and new averages after 4 h and 4 a, then the promoters have had a field day strengthening up by " fiddling " their averages. In this case it is more exaggerated due to Chris's high starting ave. Once again promoters set up rules that can be used to strengthen up during the season Is it any wonder that the media show so much disdain to Speedway ? -
Hope that Rob can sort out a good signing after Josh's retirement. Scunthorpe deserve a bit of luck after the recent bad run re injuries etc.

Swindon Sprockets - I O W Warriors 25-5-17
Gunner85 replied to A ORLOV's topic in National League Speedway
Well done to Ben Woodhull on what I assume is his first NL MATCH.... 13 points. -
Glad to see that Buxton now have a good top two in the team. Perhaps now they can move forward after a disappointing start which was beyond their control once Ellis played up.

Coventry Possibly To Join Nl
Gunner85 replied to ProudtobeaBrummie's topic in National League Speedway
NL speedway is better than none at all. Watching the young riders progress.... hope the Coventry faithful back the NL If it happens... Similarly hope Plymouth fans keep the numbers up and Speedway continues there for a long time. -
Belle Vue V Swindon Friday 19th May
Gunner85 replied to STEPHEN 333's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Max is flying out of Manchester on Saturday morning . -
Sadly when they introduce new averages after 4 home and 4 away with rolling averages now defunct it opens up a shedfull of fiddling to strengthen up..... back to the bad old days of easy to fiddle averages.
-
Now Wolves have added Schlein and Riss to the side they are a very powerful unit. Strong favourites to take the title
-
Now that riders can cry off for various reasonsin the NL........ like can't get the time off work plus a multitude of other reasons it opens the floodgates for abuse.
-
Great value at £10 for adults , £8 for concessions and u18s free. Should be an entertaining meeting whatever the scoreline.

Good start from Kyle Bickley. Luke Woodhull had a good first ride followed by 100% effort afterwards. 3 maximums fron the main team was most welcome. -
Plymouth Training Schools. Sat May 6th 1-4
Gunner85 replied to LaurenceRogers's topic in Training Tracks / Amateur
Great to see your efforts in training schools and breeding as much British talent as possible. Well done. I hope your efforts @ Plymouth reep the rewards you deserve. -
Pleased to see Stefan in the side. He is is a great racer and a pleasure to watch.

The crowd at Scunthorpe looked a bit slim. The racing was excellent... Rob deserves better crowds Hopefully when the new rearranged team is announced then it will encourage more people to come.

The double points rule makes the sport look Micky mouse. Try explaining it to a football fan and they will probably laugh. It is like saying Liverpool are Winning 3 - 0 so if the opponents score they can have 2 goals for the price of one and make the score 3 - 2 and therefore more interesting. I wish they would remove it completely f on the rules.
