You didn't have a number one last year, now you've got one of the best riders in the division and you're still not happy. If he doesn't live up to his average then you'll be able to sign one of the numerous 5 point riders left without a team place to strengthen your lower order
-
There is better home grown prospects but they've got too high an average. Really need a higher reduction for young British talent to stop them being forced out of the Championship. In Plymouth's case those promising young riders wouldn't have been an option, even with a greater average reduction, as they have signed up for the Polish under 24 league.

Ricky Wells, was born in New Zealand

I believe the regionalisation is to attract away supporters. Plymouth might be a long way from everywhere else but up north meetings between Berwick, Edinburgh and Glasgow attract away supporters. Agreed it would have been better to just include as league fixtures but then you get people complaining about unbalanced fixtures but league is ultimately decided by the playoffs. Having 3 random addition fixtures is definitely a none starter.
-
Well that's the only thing you'll win next season
-
Zach Cook got his 4.92 average mostly in the main body of the team. It was August before he dropped to reserve, he only rode one league fixture at reserve. At reserve he was sensational averaging 7.61, 8.59 including bonus point at home, away 6.13, 7.07 inc bonus. I'd be confident he'll add at least a point on his starting average. Not so much your rumoured reserves in the twilight of their careers
-
And you've signed Craig Cook! Wish he was still at Glasgow but .....
-
It's not minimum 11 matches guaranteed, it's just 11 matches. Get past KO Cup 1st round or the playoffs you have to buy a ticket

Per gbspeedway.com: All Championship meetings 1. Sam Masters 9.83 (10.26 incl. bonus pts), 2. Ryan Douglas 9.60 (9.85), 3. Richard Lawson 9.22 (9.85) League only 1. Masters 10.03 (10.39), 2. Nick Morris 9.33 (9.52), 3. Douglas 9.24 (9.52)
-
He started the season on 8.43. The average he attained the last time he rode in the league, 2019 at Glasgow
-
Aye, no need to mention it's Ryan Douglas because everybody knew that anyway, just like Cookie at Edinburgh. No concern over Zaine Kennedy after that horrific crash?
-
Poole to announce their 7 riders by 28th February
-
Didn't remember that, obviously didn't do much as still on a 2 point average
-
Big jump from NDL to Championship. This year Mulford was at Belle Vue along with Jack Smith (higher average), Nathan Ablitt & Harry McGuirk (slightly lower) all who struggled in the Championship.
-
Well Redcar don't look strong at reserve. How much Championship experience has Jake Mulford got? And James Shanes has failed to progress. Will make the playoffs but don't see Redcar challenging for top honours
-
Plenty - 6 in the whole season 3H & 3A, a 4 pt rider that averaged just over 2. I saw him on 2 occasions home and away against Glasgow and he scored 1 in both meetings. A wee boy who looked out of his depth. With all the 2pt reserves and in a second season hopefully he'll do better next year
-
Do you know Poole's mystery 3 then?
-
No plenty of us did, just hoped it wouldn't be so.
-
Scunny: Jake Allen had a poor year coming back from injury in 2021 MPT coming back from shoulder issues Simon Lambert really only good at Scunthorpe Zaine 2 seasons as 4pt reserve and it was a horrific crash that finished his season. Will it effect him round there?
-
But they are rubbish away from home. If you score less than 40 on the road it's a lot harder to win the bonus point
-
Premiership playoff final 2nd leg heat 14 Justin went from last to first passing Blodorn then Brennan. Think it's more down to the Birmingham track than his ability to overtake. Anyway wasn't it Scott instead of Nick Morris that you wanted?
-
You've got Justin to back Nick up, will do just as well, if not better than an Scott
-
And almost half a point to spare!
-
Who's Shirley?
-
You lacked a No.1 last season, be happy you've got one for 2023. And barring injury he'll be there for the whole season. A 2pt reserve would put a lot of pressure on Pearson, who looked out of his depth last season. But's been doing well in Oz.
