Good result for both Ipswich and the champions tonight. Well done to Ipswich on a great performance. We have seen it time and again when the home track differs from the norm, then the home side can sometimes struggle, and that seems the case tonight.

Good win for the Aces tonight, sad I was not there to witness it, as holidaying in Cuba atm. The mark of a good team is they are hard to beat and if one has a bad night, the other steps up to the plate. Sheffield next, with the team whose captains mother cuts my wife’s hair. Aces forever, from Jibacoa.

Wolves v Peterborough 17th JUly 2023
one of clubs replied to Beowulf's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Please correct me if I am wrong, but how can it be right that if a team draws at home, then they get the same points as a win.FFS. Greetings from sunny Cuba. -
The presentation ceremony was a amateur looking effort with a kids football type cheap rostrum.

Sheffield look awful.

Just heard BV mentioned twice now on the ten and eleven o'clock news on Greatest Hits radio. Seems the owners are doing the right things in increasing the clubs profile. -

Congratulations to Sheffield, a thoroughly deserved win and they were much the better team last night. -
1 Sheffield 2 Ipswich 3 BV 4 Wolves 5 KL 6 Pb 7 Leicester I have placed Peterborough and Leicester at the bottom because of the doubts around Nicki P and NKI and Leicester’s potential loss of home track advantage with Max and Justin coming in. KL have a balanced look about them, although there is a question mark over KK who can be decent or awful. The above bottom four all have question marks of one kind or another so it could come as no surprise should teams swap places so to speak. The top three are pretty nailed on, and I cannot see Sheffield losing many throughout the season, and defeating Ipswich in the final.

Congrats on the signing of Emil, who is one of my favourite GP esque riders. This is a (pardon the pun) shot in the arm for British speedway, and Ipswich in particular. Could Emil's first ride this year be at BV in the PCMT perhaps?.

Potentially it may have been a box of cornflakes the bits of paper could have been put in.

Well that comes as no surprise, never mind. I will just have to give him the box of cornflakes i bought for him next season instead.

Shame on Sheffield

It is not Sheffield's fault that the stadium is repeatedly unavailable. They have just got to put up with it. Sadly, as we all know, not very many clubs own their own stadium. -
Sheffield vs. Belle Vue Grand Final 2nd Leg 13/10/22
one of clubs replied to TTT's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Having just watched the highlights from last night due to being there, and reading some comments including some by a rider about alleged dodgy refereeing decisions I have to say she got them spot on. The presentation by Eurosport was poor, as they did not capture the atmosphere and it seemed a bit flat. -
Sheffield vs. Belle Vue Grand Final 2nd Leg 13/10/22

When all the dust has settled, and the trophies were handed out, at the end of the day Sheffield had their chance and they blew it. Plain and simple. Do not try to blame the ref. She was the one making the decisions, and she called it as she saw it. Deal with it, and accept defeat with grace and dignity. -
Belle Vue v Ipswich Play off semi 2nd leg 3 Oct

I do not see what all the fuss is about. It is merely a like for like signing, with one rider having a lower average than the one he replaces, FFS. As for the title being already in the bag, ask our potential opponents the same question. We have not signed Bartos Zmarzlik, and let us not forget RL has not ridden in UK for a few seasons now. -
We all know that regulations can be bent for certain individuals/ tracks that are “in the interests of speedway”. Having a Grand Prix rider possibly replacing another GP rider for a max of two meetings does not appear to be one of them. Whenever will the clowns who run our once great sport ever learn?. Robert Lambert seems to agree.

Way back when the Sky broadcasted the Elite league, in a deal by Terrry Russell, I was told that TR took a sizeable slice of the Sky money. Along with this, he took 20% of all the advertising revenue from every track, as well as pulling all the strings with his violin brigade. It is no accident that nearly every club he has been associated with has gone to the dogs (forgive the pun). Speedway is much the worse because of people like him. The chap who told me was a very knowledgeable fellow, who has supported Speedway in general, and BV in particular, for a very long time and was in the know so to speak. He walked away from our great sport because of this and has not been back since. He told me then TR would suck British Speedway’s blood and was not to be trusted.I t seems he was right. I feel saddened at the plight Swindon find themselves in, as I lived in Swindon for a few years back in the seventies, and hope that something can be sorted on a permanent basis securing the clubs future.

Sheffield v Belle Vue 25th August

What an absolute effing joke. First Kings Lynn, now Sheffield. Wolves are next no doubt. Sheffield IMO are running scared, same with KL. I despair. I do not have the words.
