  1. Wishing a speedy recovery to Martin and all the very best to all at the Warriors.
  2. The strong possibility that there would be no medical cover sadly means how many people might pay becomes of no interest. Very sad but we all need to help each other through this and hope that we, businesses, sports and life as we know it survives.
  3. If you don't test then you appear to have a very high number of deaths per 100 cases which is exactly what I would have thought the government would not want but maybe they want the panic to continue, who knows. Must make life for health professionals very difficult, you have my best wishes doing what at the best of times is a pressurised job.
  4. The likely cancellation of the first three months of the season and possibly longer.
  5. I thought I heard something to the effect that the reason why the UK government did not want to close schools was due to the fact that they thought the kids would then end up either being looked after by the grandparents who the government want to keep away from kids or the kids would be playing on the streets and spreading any virus or colds they may have to even more people than by being at school. All governments are trying to do the best for their country but the media hysteria is making rational discussion and decisions almost none existant and certainly very difficult.
  6. Thank you for the information Steve, sad news but I suspect we can all guess what has caused this.
  7. I think we will have a very short season if any racing takes place at all. The Premiership and Championship are going to have massive problems with riders who race in other countries not being available due to fixture congestion everywhere. The only league that has a chance of running a meaningful short season is the NDL which the two top leagues seem to want to kill by next year so I fear they will say that if the top two can't run then the NDL is not allowed to.
  8. Where has it been announced that he has left? Certainly not on the BSPA or Newcastle sites when I looked a minute ago! Is this inside information or fake news?
  9. I left school in 1972 and took A level Computer Science for my last two years so I would have thought a computer course and exam would have been available in some schools from the start of the GCSE.
  10. Sorry to see that Warriors have lost Macauley Leek due to him having financial issues. At this late stage they may have problems finding a replacement of the same standard but I hope Barry Bishop can work some magic.
  11. He must have learnt from Mike Parker who loved throwing the press out of his Stock Car meetings. Reason I know that is that at one Crayford meeting he threw me out three times before start time and I still saw the whole meeting thanks to his staff letting me back in each time. He would have been even more annoyed to find that I was being let in for free every week!
  12. The new site could get very busy with this sort of free extra!
  13. Those in power are still too busy destroying the MSDL to have started serious work on their new baby!
  14. I used the link from the BSPA site but I suspect they still have a link to the old site! I will try a Google search for the new one. EDIT:- The new site works well, just a shame the BSPA are behind the times for not the first time. It would be even better if they could publish the correct start time for meetings! Good luck to Rob and everyone at Newcastle Speedway in 2020.
  15. I have just tried looking at the Newcastle website but all the news items come up with a 404-0 error saying they are not found or have been removed.
  16. I am more than willing to accept what you and pitstop84 say. I was only going on what the F1 drivers used to say about the track that they all loved.
  17. In that case you know better than me as I have only watched there and chatted to F1 drivers.
  18. Most of the F1 Stock Car drivers said it drove like a tarmac base and it certainly looked like it at the end of most meetings with a big black line around the bends. None of the other shale tracks ever looked the same as Brandon but I am willing to accept what you say if you know better.
  19. If he wants a tarmac track he can just go back to Brandon which was only a thinlayer of shale on top of tarmac.
  20. Leicester need to be careful, he might take all the seats with him at the end of the meeting.
  21. The problem is that Newcastle do not have enough dates to run a full National League programme but want to have a team racing at that standard to help progress the careers of junior riders. They need a few riders who are experienced at NDL level to help the newer riders. The progression as I see it is NJL, then SDL/MDL and then NDL, Championship and Premiership. The National Trophy was being run this season for the stand alone teams who need more competitive meetings than the NDL can offer and Newcastle are adding extra meetings for those teams which helps the stand alone teams and Newcastle. A win win situation as I see it.
  22. For a Saturday evening the quicker route would be Southern from Crystal Palace to New Cross Gate then Overground to Whitechapel, then Hammersmith and City to Liverpool Street and then Greater Anglia to Rye House. 1 hour 26 minutes according to TfL website journey planner. You would only be a little slower doing Overground from Crystal Palace to Whitechapel and it would save a change. When Rye was open I used to do Southfields to Liverpool Street on the District line to Edgware Road and then H&C or Circle to Liverpool Street with Greater Anglia to Rye House. Took around the same time and I was always home before 11.30pm, normally before 11pm. Given that we both should have a Freedom Pass and a Senior Railcard the extension from Boundrey Zone 6 cost under £5. By the way it is cheaper to book the extension ticket to Hartford East rather than Rye House, don't ask why just be happy you are using their system against them!
  23. No one apart from you has suggested that we are all disabled although sadly some are. Most of us are lucky enough to be fit and well but that does not deminish our wish to see those who are not as fortunate as ourselves looked after properly.
  24. I have just started to think straight after being so shocked by the very sad news. Checked my programme from last seasons IOW Warriors v Mildenhall Fen Tigers match and sure enough there is the 18 point maximum by Danny who was the most exciting rider I had seen for a number of years. I just wish I had seen him more often and the fact I didn't makes me sad. Once again my thoughts are with his partner, children and all his family and friends. I just pray that they can remember the good times and leave everything else tucked away. RIP Danny.
  25. If we are getting into promoters then I can fill the next three pages at least with the wrongs Mike Parker did to both Speedway and Stock Cars while also doing some good as well.
