  1. It has been working for the last two or three days on my phone.
  2. The easiest way of encouraging British riders is to have a minimum number of British riders in each team. I would suggest three or possibly four would be a good idea. Then you make team building rules that make a non British rider have one point added to their average which will encourage teams to use more than the minimum number of British riders.
  3. Centre green looks a lot better than the Rye House one at did in the last season the BMR muppets were in charge.
  4. They didn't think it would have more than 100 viewers at a time so we have overloaded it!
  5. Copied from Lions website:- 2022 ADMISSION PRICES (CHAMPIONSHIP MATCHES) Adults: £18.00 Concessions: £15.00 Students (Age 17-22 with a Student card): £15.00 Children (Age 5-16*): £1.00 Children (Under 5s) FREE * (With paying adult/Family) (NATIONAL LEAGUE MATCHES) Adults: £14.00 Concessions: £12.00 Students (Age 17-22 with a Student card): £12.00 Children (Age 5-16*): £1.00 Children (Under 5s) FREE * (With paying adult/Family)
  6. Very pleased to hear that Southern Water are being fair and that things are getting back to normal. From a personal point of view the fact that the Island Line is back working is good news but sadly until the late train from Portsmouth Harbour to Wimbledon and the connecting boat from Ryde Pier Head are back running I will not be able to see racing at Smallbrook Stadium which I deeply regret unless I seriously increase the cost of a trip by staying overnight in Ryde. Staying would enable me to have two days on the Steam railway which I would enjoy but would not go down well with my wife!
  7. I am sure many readers were as upset as I was at the flooding damage due to a burst pipe caused by road works at the end of January. I hope that whoever was responsible for the damage, has repaired it and ensured that the stadium has suffered no loss. It would be nice to hear from the Warriors promotion what the current situation is.
  8. One promotion already do what you have suggested but sadly are not in the BSPL but last season ran a successful season on the Isle of Wight. Hopefully in the future they will be able to back into the league AND allowed to provide the show they did this last season.
  9. Just seen on the Warriors website the details of this years Three Team Tournament featuring the Warriors up against Weymouth Wildcats and Cradley Heathens. Looks like the tournament will provide three good evenings of entertainment.
  10. It must be a Scottish thing to have nearby tracks running on the same night. Glasgow and Edinburgh in speedway while Cowdenbeath and Lochgelly do the same thing for stock cars. I suppose the only way I can see both tracks in both sports is to spend two weekends in Scotland.
  11. I was shocked and saddened to see on the Warriors website that the stadium has been flooded by a water main being burst on the road outside during construction. Better news is that Warriors have announced their team with Danno Verge, Connor King, Alex Spooner and Ben Morley. All four have NDL team spots and were pleased to get the chance of extra competitive track time. Once again the full details are on the Warriors website.
  12. The trouble with going away from the league sections is that I suspect fewer people read them. The racing on the island is National League standard, so leaving this thread where it is seems about right unless our mods want to move it.
  13. Thanks for the information. I try to avoid buses whenever possible but still useful information.
  14. Being a railway enthusiast as well as a speedway fan I was aware of the need to change Metro trains but thank you both for your replies. In fact I will only need to change Metro trains on the way home as I intend to arrive early and have time to ride the whole loop via Whitley Bay. From what Dave says I assume a team who have a track with tight bends at their home track would be the ones to expect to provide a close meeting. I let you know what my plans are once I know what they are!
  15. I am thinking of visiting Newcastle speedway this year. I would travel by train from London to Newcastle and then use the Tyne and Wear Metro to Byker. How long a walk is it from Byker Metro station to the track and with a 4pm start what would the latest finishing time be? Many thanks for any help anyone can give me.
  16. Good to see from the website (warriors-speedway.com) that there will be a full summer season of racing at Smallbrook Stadium in 2022.
  17. It would be nice if either the OP or Admin would rename the thread with the correct name of the team!
  18. More like this forum is becoming a farce due to nothing being done about the trolls. BSPL and the admin deserve each other.
  19. Used to enjoy Bank Holiday Monday's with speedway in the morning followed by Stock Cars in the afternoon at Rayleigh and then a dash back by train to see the speedway at Wimbledon in the evening.
  20. You missed out Canterbury, Romford, Walthamstow, Harringay, New Cross, Crayford and West Ham! In all probability I have also missed some! Lea Bridge and Stamford Bridge came to mind before I hit submit!
  21. I barely missed a meeting at Arena Essex in the first eight years it ran and the season I enjoyed the most was when they finished second from bottom as every match was very close score wise although sadly too often the Hammers snatched defeat out of victory. For close matches it is much better to have a team in the lower half of the league.
  22. One rider, Vic Duggen, did not have his initials for a good reason. He just had Vic on his bib.
  23. How can you say a track is in the middle of nowhere when it is a five minute walk from a railway station that has an hourly or better service to and from London?
  24. At least they will finish in the top six in the league!
