  1. I've read they've started laying track and making it wider, any photos yet? Are they bringing inside line in?
  2. One thing for sure, if it does go ahead tomorrow it shouldn't be dusty.
  3. Short bit on Granada tonight : http://youtu.be/O0eJ7cg9zNU
  4. I presume you have only seen the 3D computer generated photos? There are detailed designs available here : http://www.publicaccess.manchester.gov.uk/associateddocs/MCCList1.aspx?106133%2FFO%2F2014%2FN2 The track was the first thing to be designed by Chris Morton, it was the most important thing, Everything else was designed to fit around it. In fact when the plans had to be changed earlier this year due to a dispute over land the track stayed the same but they have had to remove terracing from the apex of the bends to still fit it in. He has never said it will be close to Hyde Road, that would be too difficult to do. There are elements from Hyde Road like the width and the straights will have a slight kink in them like Hyde Road did. It will more like a wider Bydgoszcz.
  5. No, all that been done is a small tarmac car park to put a portacabin on. Hockey still playing there so nothing else going to happen yet.
  6. Good news about both teams running, but running on alternative weeks is going to be a pain, if a meeting gets rained off that team won't race for 4 weeks and then rearranging it will be tough.
  7. Belle Vue Speedway featured in Elbow's latest music video https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=nghmOMdL4fM&list=UUmOFHvCruXt5NJmxS8HPoaA
  8. Not tarring everyone with the same brush but there is a small minority at Cradley who like to cause trouble at away meetings. It's happened at several tracks now either causing trouble directly or goading riders into doing stuff.
  9. No power cut in the stadium, we were puzzled in the stadium why there was long delay between heats 13 & 14, think it was a transmission/satellite issue
  10. That's what the fans who went to Gelsenkirchen thought too...
  11. So the fact the GP is been cancelled and being moved is not a disaster? Yes they have had rain but the problem is the track was only laid a few weeks ago without inadequate drainage, no where enough time. BSI should have moved it to Daugvapils a couple of months ago when it was obvious then there was going to be problems.
  12. This GP has been a disaster from the start, surprised BSI let it get to this stage, up to last week the place was still a building site with no floodlights etc. If tomorrow does go ahead the track is bound to be soft and cut up, with it being narrow and square bends can see it being a nightmare
  13. Putting a temporary track in a stadium without a roof in Denmark a bad idea!!!
  14. BSI getting desperate realising how poor crowd going to be : http://bellevueaces.co/newsitem.aspx?id=1197
  15. That's the figure promotion were saying at the public consultations.Think most of it on bends 3 & 4 on top of car park, bit of room on bend 2.
  16. Yep the shape was the most important thing for Chris Morton designing it, it's a mixture of Hyde Road, Bydgoszcz and Torun. Straight fairly short with longer bends. Straights have a slight kink in them like Hyde Road did
  17. Yes mostly. There has had to be some changes due to the covenant land issue so it has had to be squeezed in a certain area, because the track size and shape is most important and couldn't be compromised there is now no terracing around the apex of the bends. Car parking is limited but that was always going to be the case in the built up area. This document is the most interesting provides most of the details : http://www.publicaccess.manchester.gov.uk/associateddocs/selecteddoc.aspx?106133-dsx-0001.pdf
  18. Yes a deal has been done with Showcase cinema for overflow parking, lots of parking there across the road, I'm sure the GRA will want to make some money and charge to use their car park too.
  19. Planning details : http://www.publicaccess.manchester.gov.uk/associateddocs/MCCList1.aspx?106133%2FFO%2F2014%2FN2
