  1. Best to get hire car I'd say, that's what we always do, Vojens in middle of nowhere really. Had a quick look, looks like you can get combination of bus & train there but not really going back as isn't any till early sunday morning.
  2. Official Press Release - Richard Frost BELLE Vue are negotiating to run a Colts team in the National League next season It would mean around an extra ten meetings at the Kirkmanshulme Lane greyhound stadium in the third flight of the British speedway pyramid which is designed to provide racing for up and coming riders. Local whizzkid Jason Garrity, who has just signed a full contract with the Aces, will be a pivotal member of the team. The club have signalled their interest to the National League management and will attend their annual meeting later this month while negotiations with their Greyhound Racing Association landlords to use the stadium are at an advanced stage. The surprise move is fuelled partly by a frustration in being unable to help young British riders but the possibility of the club having their own stadium is also a major factor. Chris Morton, the Aces’ Operations Director, said: “Nothing has been finalised because the National League haven’t had their annual meeting yet but we will be going with the intention of joining. “We envisage a minimum of ten home meetings and these will be stand alone matches, either on a Monday if there isn’t a senior fixture, or on a Wednesday. “This will only work if we get the right support from fans. That is the risk we would be taking. Running in the Elite League is very tough financially and a National League team would have to be capable of looking after itself. The fans have to want this if it is to succeed.”
  3. They use to always do the draw about 1-2 weeks before the GP then some riders started getting suspicious so it was done at practise in front of the riders. You don't have to fill in 20 heats of names, its only the 16 names you have to write in the programme grid similar to what they put in the speedway star, and they provide a seperate sheet in the programme with the riding order.
  4. Forecast I'm looking at says still lot of rain today but may stop about 4.00 and looks ok for this evening.
  5. 20mm of rain forecast for Saturday, Sunday looks bit better but still some rain.
  6. Looking at weather, looks like could be a repeat of Croatia, looks like it will pour down all day on Saturday.
  7. Someone at track says it's off now, 12 tomorrow.

  10. Completely different systems, virgin use fibre optic broadband through special cables that your tv comes down too, sky use BT phonelines. I pay a little more but have the best of both worlds, use Virgin for broadband and telephone line and SKY for TV.
  11. No the meeting starts at 3pm in Denmark (2pm here). SKY are starting at 1.30 but goes off at 2.30 presuming switching to red button as live sport on all 4 sports channels.
  12. Ah yes showing now. Yep looks like red button which means people can't record it also no HD.
  13. Tomorrow looks like some rain for morning but ok for afternoon.
  14. Yep I just noticed that, bet it will be red button which is pain
  15. Looking at radar looks like band of heavy rain going to hit vojens in next hour or so
  16. Does anyone know if practise went ahead yesterday? Presuming it didn't with all the rain they had yesterday.
  17. Yes Vojens is the only track I think that has purpose designed track covers, they had them specially made last year, cost about £20,000 apparently. Can't just put loads of dirt down though covered up with no watering as would just be load of dust.
  18. Vojens is always slick doesn't matter if Denmark qualify or not, GB will have to improve their gating. The other thing that always happens at Vojens is the rain!
  19. Every year Jonas Davidsson does really well in World Cup
  20. Since track as got slicker racing has got lot better.
  21. Only thing that is keeping this interesting is the close score. Wish they would stop going on about how good the track is, racing was better at Gorzow yesterday.
  22. Looks like Kings Lynn been lucky with the rain, 2 lots of rain gone either side over Peterborough & Norwich.
  23. Why don't you read previous comments and would know that Olsen has nothing to do with GP & SWC tracks apart from Copenhagen & Cardiff.
  24. The problem with today's meeting was the result was always known before the start, and you could predict most races would finish Poland, Denmark, Russia, Czechs. There was some good racing, especially in the middle of the meeting. Like others have said the Poles had no problem passing inside & outside and they don't like slick tracks!
