Yeah, bit surprised that the Riders Championship has been scheduled so early. Wonder if this is going to be an early season event for the next 3 years ? 2025 form would then influence picks for 2026. The BSN was allowed to drag on in 24, wonder if more urgency will be applied in 25 to get the latter stages completed sooner.
-
Got to agree BSN have brought more entertaining and wider coverage to the Championship. However, fans do not know what individual clubs have received in financial reward from BSN. More fixtures for BSN to televise should result in a bigger pot of money to be divided out to the Clubs should it not. However potential impact of supporters watching meetings at home for ยฃ11-99 or much less instead of attending away or home fixtures has yet to be fully ascertained imo.
-
It's not about peeing anyone off, Poole were insulated from the lack of fixtures experienced by some clubs last season. Looks like you are going to get another couple of fixtures minimum next season being included in the Premiership KO Cup. The Premiership don't have a BSN Series wonder if that p!$$e$ them off. You never said anything about the idea of having a North and South BSN section. Sure the BSPA could have worked round 9 teams like they have with the Premiership KO Cup. BSN could always sponsor the Championship KO Cup.
-
Some sensible decisions like having the Pairs and PLRC early season over same weekend weather permitting of course. Would have rather seen either dropping the BSN and having 2H/2A or just a North and South league. Still an issue of potentially too few fixtures for some teams. Like the 40 point limit .

Highly likely Craig will be back at Leicester next season so I wouldn't be surprised .

I'm a fan of Jordan Jenkins and think he would be a really good signing. Would love to see him and Dan Thompson in the team. Slater Lightcap at 2 is a big ask, too big in my opinion. If he was coming in at reserve then that is an easier proposition . The jury is out with me on Dan Gilkes, he has shown flashes and performed pretty well guesting for Oxford in the playoffs. Would suggest if he isn't back with the Bears then Oxford are a more likely destination than the Comets. Appeared inconsistent for the Bears last season. Personally can't see Connor Bailey making a comeback next season. Ben Trigger has a bit of potential, quite like him but there are sizeable question marks over whether he has the potential to put a point or two on his average next season. I think the Comets will want two strong reserves after suffering in this delartment for most of last season. May also look to build further on their asset base where after the success of Tate and Antti last season.

The 2025 team has to excite at least on paper. In my opinion this team just doesn't cut it.
-
Every team needs strong reserves.
-
I'm not sure the Championship will continue with the 2 pointers simply because not enough NDL riders who would qualify appear to have the ability at present.
-
If he is riding in Poland then logistically it is highly unlikely Antti will be wearing the big C next season which would be shame. At least he is a Comets asset.
-
Totally agree

Must watch this on catch up. I remember Greg Mackie from the old Northside training track, shocking way to have your life taken away at the tender age of 18.

Troy gets a bad press but twice this season at the 'meet the riders' and again last night he has spoken with humour and intelligence. He appears to be very personable and happy in his own skin. Done himself and Worky proud last season and fully deserves the fans vote as Rider of the Season.
-
What a man !๐ he was just saying on the live feed last night before setting off for the meeting that he was going to take it easy as he has only had one small practice ๐๐
-
Does appear to go well for Glasgow, definitely rides Ashfield way better than Northside which is a little hard to explain as both are good race tracks. Claus turned in some big away performances for Worky, Berwick twice, Plymouth and Redcar come to mind.
-
noticeable Paul Starke was not at the presentation night, would suggest he is probably not coming back
-
Is Bowes not just as likely to be heading for Armadale ?
-
Probably depend on who along with Tate is coming back and the rubber stamping of the widely rumoured 40 point average at the AGM.
-
Hopefully hear something on the team front following the AGM ๐ค

900 miles on a tank would be enticing. JCB have been working on hydrogen engines for their diggers since at least 2020. Remember watching a YouTube video on this, seem to remember the intention was for the smaller less intensively used diggers to be electrified while the bigger more intensively used would be hydrogen powered.

It's ridiculous . Hope they consider calls for more meetings from the fans. -
Having seen William Cairns a few times at Worky it is undeniable what a talented and confident prospect he is. Having said that I just hope he is well managed and not overly pressurised in his first season or two. He also needs to be lucky on the injury front. I wish him well.

Yeah it really annoys me too. You just get the impression that some of them don't get it or don't care. The age of the multi club rider appears to have fostered a culture of aloofness and less affinity with the fans. I don't think they realise how much fans clock this. Fans pay there wages, they should remember this and acknowledge them at every opportunity that presents itself, it goes a long way and costs nothing.

Very sensible and makes complete sense. Poole are in the fortunate position of being well supported. For other clubs even the Championship is financially challenging. The big challenge for those running and promoting the sport is how to make it more appealing in order to effect an increase in supporter numbers. Riders must also realise they also have an integral part to play in this, for instance way too many just ride back to the pits after winning races.

Hope there wasn't a fire at the GT Tyres Arena. Yeah lithium ion battery fires are incredibly hot and very difficult to extinguish I believe. Personally I have not got much interest in electric cars. Need to get moving on Hydrogen and Biofuels me thinks.
