  1. Apart from our first away meeting at Scunny in the BSN Trophy Batch has shown his class away from home. Well done tonight Jacob, been riding well lately and has a bit of fight in him and to a lesser extent Vinnie. Seems like a poor one from Tate, 4 points over 2 meetings at Armadale for the Comets , 10 points as a guest for Redcar, hard to fathom that one. Seemed below par performance from Fraser tonight while 2 falls are uncharacteristic from what we have seen this season. Antti really should be pulling closer to his average on these tracks now. We had one fall less than in the KOC but mistakes seem to cost us good points. Gonna be tough tomorrow so we will need a full team effort. A win will do as realistically the bonus is beyond us. UTC !
  2. There is a mini track at Worky would be good practice for the likes of Tate, Antti, Fraser, Jye and Vinnie.
  3. Hope its a good one, it was a draw in the KOC meeting.
  4. Vinnie done well at Glasgow beating a much in form Leon Flint. Watched Fraser, Tate and Batch after the meeting.Antti is an enigma for sure, can be absolutely brilliant at times.
  5. Apparently Batch blew an engine before heat 15 at Glasgow friday night. I heard his second engine wasn't as strong so he was using an engine borrowed from Hooky against the Cheetahs. He seemed to find a better setup for heat 13 after which I half expected to see him with Antti in 15. Jye was deserving of 15 though after a strong performance.
  6. I also sent an email to the above and have not received a reply.
  7. If you like proper sausage rolls or steak pies, small cabin between back straight stand and Peter Hall hospitality.
  8. Pretty stiff breeze this morning from the south west although it is due lessen into the evening. The back straight is more sheltered with the wind from this direction as there are pine trees surrounding . Any dust will affect starting gate side, any early evening sunshine will mainly be on this side also as well as bends 1&2. I was reading that there will be a fly by along the coast by the Red Arrows who will be on their way from Blackpool to Edinburgh Tattoo around 6-30pm which will be better seen from starting gate side. Don't blame me if they don't materialise though 🤣, hope its a great meeting .
  9. Enjoyable competetive meeting tonight with some top racing. Heats 7 and 14 very influential for the Comets. The Tigers turned what looked like a 3-3 into a 5-1 in heat 7 and what looked like a certain 1-5 in heat 14 into a 2-4 with a great last turn from Leon Flint although we thought Jye still pipped him but the transponder didn't agree. Well done both teams for some excellent entertainment.
  10. See ya all at Ashfield, tough ask against a very much in form Tigers. UTC!👊
  11. All Glasgow riders hitting top form now and looking like the favourites for me. Nagel signing proving very influential, he really is an exciting prospect.
  12. They are doing alot of things right at Plymouth and it is being rewarded with better attendances so well done the Gladiators. After saying this I thought 150 minutes for 15 heats was too long tonight. The interval in particular was too long even with the kids race and the re-runs of heat 14. I tried the curry and rice tonight and it was very nice. Wouldn't hesitate to purchase again.👍
  13. Yeah have to agree with this, when we needed him to stand up tonight (which he eventually did last night) he went missing in action. It will be hard for him to progress further in speedway without showing more steel and adaptability on tracks of different shape and surface quality.
  14. Yeah Worky wouldn't have minded this scenario last Saturday.
  15. Not sure which Worky will turn up for this, hope it is the sharp confident racing head on one. I will be cheering them on . UTC👍👊
  16. To be honest Gazc, I don't know anything other than what you have mentioned. Allied Mobility are included with other sponsors on the Workington Comets Facebook account now.
  17. Some great on point observations there mikebv. Getting more water into the track pre meeting is something we definitely need to be working on doing especially in the absence of rain in the 12 -24 hours before the meeting. The signage which has just gone up this week looks great. This can only help keep Workington Speedway visible and increase conscious awareness that it does actually exist as a credible sporting family option. Continuously putting the supporter experience right at the top of the clubs priorities in all aspects has to be the only way forward. How well the club is doing on this should be gauged periodically through feedback surveys.
  18. My insinct was realised, the Bears gave us a spanking for the second time this season on our home track. This was disappointing for a couple of reasons : one a decent crowd was in, some of whom may have been encouraged by our decent form of late and two, we looked to have transgressed back to the poor team we were at the start of the season. Consistently beaten out of the gate with only 5 heat wins and finishing last in 9 of the 15 heats sealed our fate. We looked like the away team most of the meeting which left one feeling deflated after the recent optimism. Thanks to the Bears fans who made the journey , you must be loving seeing your team winning at Northside.
  19. Very tough meeting for the mighty Comets, Danny King especially has shown a real liking for the GT Tyres Arena. Jonatan Grahn is probably an upgrade on the current form of Jake Mulford having already had two excellent meetings at Northside. Paco is not Eric Riss who also loves Northside but has shown in the past that he is capable of double figures. Jason Edwards another rider who has had plenty of laps around Northside and achieved double figures. Jason has shown good form following his recent return from injury. Both Ace Pijper and Jody Scott go well at Northside. Comets will need a real solid team performance with another scrap for every point attitude and good starts. Should be a cracker ! UTC 👊
  20. Bit harsh for me that Bellers101 . Originally you guys had booked Tate but an injury in Poland tuesday prevented that so Antti stepped in. Not easy getting guests on a Friday with 6 teams riding, you might have been left up rubbish creek without a paddle without them. Jacob a reserve guesting at No2 a difficult position. In his first race he finished 3rd in a 4-2 with Charles Wright. In his 2nd ride he had a mechanical failure , in his 3rd ride in heat 8 he was disappointing but coming out of gate 4. He only got 3 rides and rightly so the way the Bears reserves were riding tonight. Antti always starts with a pretty poor 1st ride but ran a third behind Kerr and Cook in heat 3 won in the fastest time of the night, he was last in his 2nd ride out of the grave yard gate 4, he then ran a 2nd from gate 2 behind Zach Cook with Edwards last from you guessed it gate 4 before winning heat 14 from gate 3 beating heat 14 specialist Cook to put the Bears 4 points clear with only heat 15 to come. Oh by the way Richard Lawsons first 2 rides from gate 4 yielded 1 point in total.
