If the Monarchs had retained the 20 point lead they had at one time during the meeting the advantage was with them but I believe the Tigers will overcome a 14 point deficit at Ashfield. The heavy shower spoiled it as a spectacle but I have seen worse televised meetings to be honest. At one time it looked like all the Tigers good work during the season was going to count for nothing mainly because of a heavy downpour and agreeing to ride with a patched up team, thought they really missed Dan Thompson as Nikolai was woeful for 3 rides and then looked liked a world beater in his final outing. The Monarchs will be kicking themselves for letting the Tigers reduce the deficit over the final third of the meeting especially as Bomber rarely looks that uncomfortable.

Good post. I agree that the BSPL with only 4 current active members does not indeed have the wherewithal to steer the sport to better times. It definitely needs the help of professional business, marketing and PR consultants to develop strategies for sponsorship, fan engagement, improved media coverage and the attraction of investment. However this costs money and the BSPL don't have much. Promotions need to urgently think about improving facilities and introducing activities that make Speedway more family oriented and not just about the racing. It also in the shorter term needs to be serious about realigning the costs of running the sport based on current attendances.

Championship definitely needs more meetings imo. Worky recently had a run of weekly home meetings and the crowd held up well even with holidays and the usual many summer attractions in the area. It was good to talk about who is it next week rather than having a gap of 3-4 weeks without a home fixture. Need to change the current model it has stagnated and proved detrimental to British Speedway for too long now.

Feel for you here lot of miles involved. Hugely frustrating especially after all the dry weather this summer. -

started to rain in Worky at 2:30pm and was on and off after that sometimes quite heavy. The forecast for today on the BBC changed last night to more sunshine and less showers so it will probably pour down this evening. Weather accuracy is still not great even with all the data fed into computer models. -

Poole vs Glasgow KOC SF 1st leg 27/08/25

If you get a third party to carry out the streaming I believe the club typically get around 33% of the takings. Seen some rather poor streams that I would be reluctant to pay £12-99 for again. I believe the Poole stream was £13-99 on Wednesday. -
Cami critical of the refs decisions which he claims all went against the Tigers, also the Poole fans especially those near to the pits who he claimed verbally abused the Glasgow riders. Shaping up nicely for a battle royale in the second leg.

Richard has always been a consistent points scorer.

Also were outstanding debt exceeds the value of the bond.

Yeah , not paying riders correctly breaches SCB regulations. Rules for some but not others it would seem.

In the absence of Nagel to date guests have failed to score what he would have. He has been very good at Ashfield. If he is missing then Poole are favourites for me. -
still looks to be an active director on Compnies House.

Yeah this is not great if true, with Nagel in the Tigers team I fancied you guys to be lifting the silverware. The number of meetings he has now missed has to be extremely frustrating for everyone at Glasgow. -
Oh hang on, isn't Damien Bates a director on the BSPL ?.
-
sounds like enough to warrant a 2 point deduction at least 😉
-
think they were pulling some part of your anatomy mate 😃
-
Certainly rumours about some Premiership clubs owing riders multiple weeks wages, don't know how true they are but Oxford and Sheffield have been mentioned.
-
Where on earth did you get that from Neila🤣
-
Dayle Wood. Poole quite a bit stronger at reserve tonight.
-
No guarantee Fraser will go as well this time around although the Tigers will be hoping he does. Personally I would like to see him do well again, he seems a dedicated young man.
-
Hope Charles Wright will be helping out.

Used to love going to the Fours at Peterborough. Once they held it over a weekend and included an individual event which was won by Ryan Douglas if I remember rightly. Helped that the weather that weekend was superb.
