  1. Easy for Poole in the second half of the meeting. Thought Lasse was going to have a good meeting but the fall related to the shed chain followed be the mechanical failure on his second bike done for his evening. Only Klindt had the class to take the fight to the Pirates although young Ben Trigger done well. Joe Thomson and Mitchell Cluff looked a weak 3 and 4 on this showing and suspect a change won't be long in coming. Alfie Bowtell and Ben Barker offered little. Tough place to go but on this showing Plymouth will struggle away.
  2. Yeah the season always feels short as it is but starting our home team schedule on 3rd May feels all pretty frustrating. Heaven knows what some of the riders must be feeling like.
  3. Been some long periods of rain this week although thursday was nice. Got to Edinburgh yesterday around 1 pm yesterday and it was dry Looked at my phone around 2pm to find the meeting had been called off on the back of a forecast of heavy evening rain. Started raining about 2-30pm but intermittent. Dry coming home until we got to the Scottish Uplands when it started raining again and turned heavy. Don't know how it turned out in Armadale ?. Still raining in parts of North west Cumbria with the odd dry area but it was wet in Workington. Heavy rain ensued for the rest of the evening well into the night. It was still raining on and off this morning up until about 8 am. With this being an early start I could well imagine there would have been soft spots which would have done nobody any favours. Would think that is what probably done for the meeting.
  4. Could use Antti at 5 at home. Fraser might really take to the track he looks a sharp starter and very stylish. Jye might also put himself into contention to. We will know soon enough πŸ‘
  5. Yeah, teams have either built with strong heat leaders/ weaker reserves or gone for more strength in depth. Winning all your home fixtures is vital and if you can pick up the odd away win with aggregate bonus points here and there it should be enough to make the playoffs ?. I agree about a fascinating season. I really don't know how Worky will perform until we get out on track as a 7, we have potential but there are unknowns and our sub par performance in the Pairs didn't help answer any of these . We will need to be strong at home because our track holds no real advantage.
  6. Armadale has never been an easy place to go to for the Comets. The early season form of Tate has not been at the high level he was at early last season. This is probably to be expected following his crash at Belle Vue and relatively inactive season back home. Just hope his form and confidence can pick up quickly from here now that he has had a few meetings under his belt. The KO Cup and BSN Series are important to our season. Progression will provide more meetings for riders and fans in a season where there aren't that many We need Batch to lead from the front and hit the ground running until some of our guys find their feet. Edinburgh have recruited well, having ex rider Palovarra at reserve is a strong point at present and he is way better than an assessed 5. Time to be focussed and competetive, keep it tight as possible to help give us a chance in the return leg. UTC !
  7. Possibly a bit jaded tonight Bomber following 3 consecutive days racing, we shall see.
  8. Quite true, his first bike was also reported to be down on power.
  9. We were present and commented on just how bumpy it appeared from watching the bikes skipping over them on turns 1 and 2. Regardless of this we enjoyed the meeting and it was great to see Bomber win the title.
  10. Chips were poor too. Curry sauce might have helped but they had run out of that.
  11. Can't say I noticed it being long drawn out either. We were having a good crack in the spring sunshine. Wonder how many moaning were watching it on TV ?
  12. Wasn't that bad was it ? 21 heats, 2 semi finals with all that entails, crash in the final with a rerun, 2 incidents that required the ref to leave the box to check on a bigger screen and grading every four heats with BSN etc. Probably felt too long for the supporters in the shady windier side who will have felt the cold. Cardiff GP 22 heats always took 3 hours.
  13. I think some sort of apology from the Glasgow management would be a fitting gesture here. It just looked a bit disrespectful, may just have been an oversight ?.
  14. Although the sun is quite strong in April that wind was coming off the North Sea which is around 8 Celsius this time of year. We aimed for the sunny side and it was a sound decision.
  15. Some cracking racing after the first 4 heats following a track grade which created more of an outside dirt line. Dust was kept to minimum and was not really an issue so well done to Steve and Andrew on that one. It was great to see Nicolai Klindt back in Worky and he reminded Comets fans of the rider that played a big part in the 2018 Comets trophy treble, he is some gater. Congratulations to the Redcar Bears who have a great record in recent years in this competition, there fans attended in numbers and they were well rewarded. For what it's worth after watching a replay of the final on Facebook I think the ref got the decision right in excluding Lewis Kerr. Thanks to all the fans that made the effort to attend today, crowds do help make these occasions that bit more special. The temperature differential in the stadium between the sunny and shady sides was very noticeable and at least a top coat difference on the shady side due to the chilly stiff north easterly breeze.
  16. All of this is right on the money for me πŸ‘
  17. Sure Tate and Antti will enjoy themselves. No last places is the order of the day πŸ‘
  18. Fear not Steve will water when he needs to to hopefully keep moisture in the track πŸ‘Œ
  19. Keen north easterly blowing yesterday which took the edge off the temperature on a sunny day. Don't forget your layers πŸ‘. UTC !
  20. I feel for the Berwick fans, seems like very poor communication from within the club. The warning signs were there when Craig couldn't be contacted by Leicester and were apparently informed by his Dad that he was in no condition to ride a bike. Worky were in a similar position last season with regards to Craig not responding to communication and the club not knowing whether he would turn up for P&P.
  21. Possibly but Max Perry did ride for the Monarchs NDL team last season so the experience should be beneficial.
  22. Think the Stadium will look very well on Saturday and I hope the fans will be suitably impressed with what has taken place in the last 3months. It is a work in progress but is coming along nicely. I'm sure the fans will see some top speedway on what is forecast to be a nice day. Should be a great start to a weekend festival of Championship Speedway, can't wait. πŸ‘
  23. Depends on the wind direction mate. Forecast possible Northerly on Saturday which could blow any dust to that end . Sure Steve will be utterly focussed on keeping an adequate level of moisture in the track .
