  1. team building points limit is reported to be 36 though.
  2. excellent 3 or 5 but not a No1 often enough for me personally.
  3. I'm not initially a fan of this rule, will have to see how it works in practice. Danny been a solid signing for the Bears, appears a good club man and a fair racer.
  4. Believe we did try to sign him last season but we can't really compete with the Tigers .
  5. Pretty sure Bowes has signed for Poole. Showed flashes of ability for sure but very inconsistent. Some of that could well have been down to his schedule . I think with Bowes at 4 and Bailey who is new to British Speedway at the difficult No2 position Poole will be weaker next season.
  6. KJP ?. Put himself in the shop window at Worky and Poole end of last season so must be looking for a team place.
  7. Apart from the home time against Redcar in the BSN Final when he looked down on mechanical power I thought Lewi Kerr played an instrumental role in semi finals and finals for you guys.
  8. Must be 6 teams in the Premiership then I would think.
  9. mmm, need more of that on yer bike but we say that every season. Mind it was rumoured he was getting 5 figure signing on fees when he rode for the Monarchs ? not £80K though 😃
  10. Fair point, sometimes people are built up in a role when there are limitations to what they can achieve.
  11. Could be, think that was the stated reason he gave up the Championship.
  12. That is your early xmas present Paul. Think I may have kept the best till last though.
  13. Great signing but an expensive one I would imagine.
  14. Of course they can, the narrative suits a lifestyle choice albeit a dangerous one.
  15. Looks to me like the 1 rider only over 8 point average falls within the "knee jerk"category because I fail to see the logic. Would love a meaningful explanation from the BSPL as to why this will help remedy the speedway malaise of not getting enough supporters through the gate. If this is what has been leaked already then I am not hopeful of any meaningful change. No disrespect to Phil Morris but he doesn't seem to have really changed British Speedway for the better but he does appear to have created a nice little niche for himself and is now an expert with a rake. I can't see Harry Redknapp helping much either. Think I've slipped back into negativity mode 😟😀
  16. Really, there is a saying that there is non so blind as those who do not want to see
  17. Disagree with this in general I suppose. Don't believe there is a sense of entitlement from certain Championship clubs none of which you have named incidentally. To state that they need to serve the Premiership because the Premiership is British Speedway sounds more entitled and just a bit condescending. I don't think Championship clubs are waiting for the Premiership to collapse, why would any true speedway fan want to see either league collapse?. How do you know one big league would be mostly full of journeymen and out of depth NDL riders, it is not that long ago since Tom Brennan, Dan Thompson and Jason Edwards rode in that particular league not to mention Dan Bewley. Speedway's band of Promoters have had plenty of opportunity to get to grips with rider pay structure but seem to have lacked the discipline required as a group to do so. Is that statement fair ? . Historically lots of riders only had one British team place but the number of teams in the leagues at that time meant they got circa twice as many league fixtures than the 16 of recent years in the Championship anyway. The Premiership with 7 teams was just sustainable but still loss making for a number of those. But 5 teams assuming no one else is joining at the moment with no announced major tv deal is another story. It was rumoured that Ipswich were reluctant to partake in a 5 team league and personally I can see why. Sometime you have to go back to move forward so if one league in the short term at least is beneficial for the sport then I for one embrace it.
