  1. You could design a race program in which GP riders didn't ride against 2 pointers.
  2. There has been multiple zoom calls by all accounts with the 2 league/ 1 league scenario back on the table. I would imagine not all Premiership teams will be overly keen to compete in a 5 team league .
  3. Personally can't see it making much if any difference, nothing to stop the 'same' clubs signing riders with averages just below 8. Could it be aimed at leverage in an attempt to coax targetted teams into the Premiership.?
  4. Well I would think they would have to include the matches as the SCB rules state that the league and BSN series matches count towards the match averages.
  5. Well they are still to publish the final green sheet declarations.
  6. would think it more likely to lead to some average manipulation toward the end of the season depending on the Greensheets.
  7. All teams build to same points total. If a team uses more points on its heat leaders then it may well be stronger in that department but potentially weaker lower down as a consequence.
  8. No idea bearing in mind we haven't had the AGM .
  9. Yeah but they will finish 2025 over 8 no. I have questions whether the reduction should come into this for reasons of fairness. I don't even see the logic behind why they would want to impose this 1 rider over 8 proposal anyway ?. Should be able to build a team within the team building points limit as you choose.
  10. Well there were 12 riders exceeding an 8 point average. What happens to the other 3 if still 9 Championship teams and they all want a team place ?
  11. Was supposed to be 40 points for next 3 seasons following last years agm.
  12. Felt the same about Zach in 14 also, couldn't understand why he didn't try to slow Jody down to try and get Paul Starke through for the 5-1. I thought there was no team riding generally throughout the meeting. Charles Wright never attempted to look after young Jody Scott in heat 11 which I found inexplicable for the captain. Fortunately Jody had enough to keep a disappointing Anders Rowe back in 3rd.
  13. Well done the Bears just reward for a good season. Parts of the Poole machine misfired tonight and that was the difference. Well done match winner Jody Scott a stylish courageous young rider with plenty of potential.
  14. Yeah agree, Antti has talent no doubt, his equipment rarely lets him down and his attitude seems very good and he comes across as professional. Generally very good at Northside and slightly improved away, He just needs to have more confidence in himself, gate better more often and want it a bit more if he is to achieve his potential. Tate surely a shoe in for next season, I would hope he has learned a lot from a disappointing season and be better prepared in 2026. Like Antti, he needs to work on sharpening up his gating.
  15. If it is to be 1 league (still to be decided) then I would love to see Dan the Man spearhead his local team, that would be fantastic.
  16. I never said most Championship teams fans thought it was a better league than the Premiership just a better product. I think you will find that the riders you mention do very nicely out of the Championship in terms of earnings. To suggest that the Premiership big money 'helps them ride in the second tier' as if they couldn't do so without is doubtful. These riders choose to do Championship to boost their earnings. Riders signed for European teams may be in a better position to drop the Championship because they no longer need it for financial reasons. Premiership teams this season had between 3 and 5 riders who also rode Championship . If it went to one British League I don't envisage many riders and certainly not the Aussies giving up British Speedway but that is just my personal opinion.
  17. Think all speedway fans would love the sport to have a sustained massive injection of cash but it doesn't. The fact remains that currently only 5 teams (35riders) are possible participants in the Premiership in 2026. Currently there is no tv deal and with most of the likely candidates having been there and done that then I have my doubts whether a tv deal from a financial big player is at all likely . This obviously has financial implications for the budgets of the premiership clubs and the BSPL. Another question to be answered is with no tv money and only a possible 5 teams do all these teams even want this ? . No excitement and not much variability in 5 teams from where I'm sitting. The truth is the Premiership is not the promised land and most Championship supporters believe that is the better product. Also let's not forget Leicester only joined the Premiership in 2023 and Sheffield in 2021 neither of which have enjoyed financial happy times if rumours of the size of losses are to be believed.
  18. He will really Hearn is money if he can pull that off 😉 Maybe the Donald could help, MSGA doesn't have the same ring to it as MAGA though.
  19. No one should be forced to go up in my opinion simply to make up the numbers and appease a couple of clubs who won't entertain one league.
  20. I watched fans stream out of Wimborne Road on BSN after the 1st leg , 2 things in particular were noticeable : hardly anyone was wearing Pirates merchandise and there was hardly any kids. The age demographic appeared to be mainly 50+. Whether that is representative I don't know.
