Redcar (40) vs Oxford (50) - KO Cup S/F - 6/9

Not sure about that one 6+2 from R/R is probably what the Cheetahs would have expected from Heeps. Ashton Boughen was the difference he was different class last night , no one rode as wide as he did in each of his 5 races. -

Looking in I think a lack of consistency has been an issue for the most of the Bears riders. -

No one picked up Jacob Hook wasn't at the start line in heat 14 either but he was announced as being in the race. -

The performance of Ashton Boughen just underlined the talent this young man has.. I've seen a few meetings at Redcar and not many riders beat Charles Wright by that distance. Riding every race high and wide he looked supremely comfortable and accomplished. His equipment also looked very quick. Too be honest none of the Bears extended him this evening. -

Ashton Boughen been ultra impressive so far. Advantage Cheetahs. Bears just too inconsistent and seem to lack belief tonight. -

Like your optimism Neila but only the belief, determination and preparation of the 7 Comets on the night can do that. I would much rather we had the home leg first on this occasion mainly because I believe another poor result at Poole will once again affect the gate at Northside. The 7 riders wearing the big C in the Poole leg need to all produce a performance aimed at keeping the deficit to 10 or less, this would set the 2nd leg up nicely. We would still need to pull off the result of our season but the racing should be top drawer and hopefully a great watch if the Comets have the bit between their teeth. UTC !

Would make the maths easier but I think I would rather see the rider pool increase over the coming years in the possibly forlorn hope that more Speedway teams will return.

With the present number of teams across both leagues (16) i'm surprised the feasability of one league isn't being talked about. Currently about 90-95 riders employed in the top two leagues. You would need at least 112 to go to one league. Many fans in the Championship haven't been happy this season with the dearth of fixtures and sometimes 4-5 week gaps between home meetings. It's hard to think that in 2003 the Premier League alone consisted of 18 teams.

Excellent idea. I think Poole on their crowds could afford to run an NDL team. British Speedway needs more youngsters coming through does it not. Well done Oxford on running 3 teams this season, just hope that has been financially viable.

Agree because both riders rode their socks off to make sure we didn't get beaten again by the Pirates. It felt like a win after being 6 points down after heat 12 knowing how strong Poole have been in the latter part of meetings this season. Would be interesting to see some stats on Zack Cooks winning percentage in heat 14, he seems to make it his own looking in from the outside.

Jason scored 10 for the Bears at Glasgow last night. Fair enough Jye hasn't had the best of seasons and it's probably time he found a new team/track. He could well be trying to put himself in the shop window. For me guests are like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get, don't forget Claus's Northside average isn't great he has done much better away. On a lovely day get down and support the club.I know there were people with the same attitude after the KO Cup thumping at Edinburgh in 2018 and they missed one of the greatest turnarounds you could ever wish too see.
