  1. You can pay on the gate but I've bought a standing ticket online ......we'll make the Gladiators pay at the gate as well ! Steve, heat 14 5-1 at Cowley Can't see Gilkes getting 16pts again, but then if the dust is like it was at Cowley I won't be seeing anything again!
  2. As u mentioned Darcy.....Was hoping Poole would sign him as I've always been very impressed whenever I've seen Josh ride. How long Edinburgh can keep him for I don't know because he's certainly looking destined to reach the highest ranks.
  3. Hope Atkins hasn't packed'up as per the rumour
  4. That's a good question MPT is back then but I dunno about Kennett r/r or guest. Probably r/r.
  5. A up Lisa This Turnip as seen the Coli-flower cheese (the track! ), it's a tad on the turn!
  6. Looking forward to my 1st visit to the Coliseum & spending a few days in Plymouth. With the Gladiators not being able to use Lawson because he's riding for his own team on this occasion , and with Zach Cook well versed in the set up for the track the Pirates look well set up to repeat the Cup win. I guess Toft will be.back? Barker, Andersen & Gilkes will be a threat. Barker & Gilkes I doubt will able to live up to their recent heroic's tho & unlike the Lion we won't be sleeping tonight! C'MON THE PIRATES Pirates to Win 47-43 #piratepride
  7. You got the numbers for Euro Millions on Friday?
  8. Along with the hair theme..... Pirates are Head and Shoulders above everybody else!
  9. Entertainment, money, a hobby, a job, a career All different reasons or a combination of reasons as to why a rider takes up speedway. I'm a personal friend of an ex rider and he never enjoyed racing so he tells me. I know a couple of young riders in the NL, one sees it more as a hobby as he as a job &; the other one sees it more as a professional career. Nearly all riders entertain after the race as finished, Skornicki with his doughnuts, the late Danny Ayres , Zorro etc etc Respect to all that cock their leg over
  10. Interesting battle this one and there will be quite a few heats where u cud look at the 4 riders & any result could happen. Kerr had his 'practice' last week so maybe after scoring 8 he cud be looking at double figures? Thompson Twins are now reliable scorers at home so I'd expect them to thwart any possible Bears hopes of an away win. Lions to win 50-40
  11. Great to see Newcastle doing this but, yes there is a but........they need to get more adults involved as this is the condition of the child getting in free. So the advert in itself is a bit back to front! But Is it one child Free per one paying adult? Dunno coz the advert implies one paying adult admits all children Free! As all advertising it needs more aimed at those that are not already converted to speedway. Anyways, please forgive my nick pickings coz I wish all at Newcastle a secure future
  12. With any poor team it also affects other club's business as well as it lowers their crowds & they still av to pay their riders for racking up a big score. I support Poole but won't be traveling down there for Birmingham & Newcastle because it costs me about £150 each time for train, accomodation & admission. The score is a given, dare I say? ........I have been wrong before! The BSPA should help as much as they possibly can to help struggling club's to find/finance better riders because the product on show also reflects on them. Maybe they do help? I don't honesty know but knowing certain factual information & how they treated riders who wanted to ride on the IOW then the word 'help' would be frowned upon like the word 'more' in Oliver Twist!!
  13. Birmingham & Newcastle both need major help & I hope the BSPA nobbies are helping in the search & finance of better quality riders for when these 2 club's average's are issued again.
  14. Hope to see Reading back on track some day, any news? Was on the train to Oxford last week to watch Poole, Coventry & Reading were amongst other stops for the train.......one day I thought it would be great getting off the train again for sum speedway at those venues. Have a great time down at Wimborne Road, superb race track.
  15. The Cook's are serving up a Winning breakfast fit for a King!
  16. Oxford may just & only just creep into the play offs but Nicholls & Batchelor are not doing there jobs never mind looking elsewhere in the team. Newcastle & Birmingham are below everyone & I think Oxford will be fighting with Scunny & Plymouth for 6th place.
  17. 3 noughts too many added on to that? Even at 50 quid he'd be asking for a miracle to happen when dealing with Hemsley!
  18. Well u will never be presented with a dossier on dodgy deals, etc that happen throughout speedway but I'm not naive enuff to think that they don't happen. Fair play I guess if u get away with it, now I am a Pirates fan......... don't chuck tomato's at me coz I don't like em!
  19. I was.being sarcastic on the buggy goin to Tesco on the suggestion by LionsFan that disabled people don't mind the extra walk
  20. If u had ur own business......from a customer service point of view, if u had a car park on ur forecourt the same as Leicester's stadium car park would u expect customer's to park in someone else's car park if they didn't like it and walk the same distance? Able bodied or otherwise! I'm sure u r David Hemsley now! Also the unused areas around the stadium were in the plans for BMX 5 a side etc to convince the council it was a community project, I guess the car park was also stated to be tarmac but none of these av materialised but somehow Hemsley is seemingly getting away with it. Yep, great to av the speedway but it makes yer wonder how many strokes were pulled.
  21. Aside from mobility issues when it's been raining the holes fill with muddy water which is not a great when u put ur feet out of the car into one. This is hard to avoid when there are so many! If I was a promoter I would not expect people with mobility issues to walk even further, as ur suggesting, from the shopping centre. Why do u think supermarkets etc av disabled parking near the entrance to the supermarket. And they then would still need to walk through the car park at the stadium! The buggy at Leicester is a great idea but maybe that shud start from the shopping centre car park upon ur suggestion! Are u sure ur not David Hemsley in disguise? P.s it may only be a couple of mins walk for most folk from the other car park but the opposite is true for those with any disability not just mobility.
  22. David Hemsley, who is still the landlord, Glyn Taylor & Ermolenko all involved at the beginning to a greater or lesser extent with the track. No matter how much space you have there is always a right way and a wrong way to build a track. Those responsible for it at Leicester got it 'off the charts' wrong! The racing as definitely improved from opening night but put it this way it couldn't get any worse! Seen some good racing there. How they get away with not fulfilling the plans for making use of the unused land is beyond me....BMX ,5 a side etc... Car park is awful but no one seems to want to take on the responsibility of fixing it. Guess that's a Hemsley vs Matt Bates ego battle?! I av to question Josh Bates being the track record holder at Leicester.........ponder ponder? And ponder a liddle bit more!
