  1. Rules? Wot are rules? When we av the Ford's who needs rules?
  2. Can't they make the graphics bigger? And sorry Sam, me thinks he's never been up to the TV stuff as the nerves always show. Simon Stead, Olly Allen would be good alternatives. Josh Pickering is a natural & Jason Crump .
  3. Hope the weather is better down there than up ere in Derbyshire.......Rain is all around me everywhere I go......Wet Wet Wet ! Hope u don't end up in Wethers-poons!
  4. Being a Pirate I could cut a deal for the Diamonds on sum Polyfilla to use on that rut/hole in the base of the track!
  5. Bit of a catch 22, either earlier decision coz of the distance for Newcastle or later decision due to the forecast. Either way let's hope it's all systems go for a Pirates Win
  6. No pressure at all. We did the Double last year in the same position. This year we will do the Treble plus the Riders' Championship coz we are the Pirates, simples.
  7. To the Dad's Army tune.... Who do you think you are kidding Mr Lyon if you think you gonna win the league again?!
  8. Funny enough the surgeon said that to my doctor when I went in for brain surgery!
  9. Health & Safety........just a thought Before tracks are allowed to start each season the base of the track should be inspected by an appropriate licensed official. Just like a car having a mot. And like a mot, any necessary work to be carried out before it is issued a certificate to show it is fit for purpose. This will come at a cost but doesn't everything involved with health and safety e.g. air fences. I don't know wot inspections are actually made with the track other than it's surface before a meeting starts. Maybe they need to use Tatum's dirtometer and a scanner that archeologist's use!
  10. Whilst I try to appreciate the hours put in behind the scenes to get meetings on whether that be the track work, medical cover, programmes, getting volunteers in, getting the paperwork done, getting guests etc etc etc........ At the end of the day if the show isn't right on the night for those that pay to watch, especially new or floating supporters, they are less likely to return again. I say this about any entertainment venue, you can't expect people to understand wot goes on behind the scenes too try to get things right, after all they don't pay for that!!! They only pay for things to be right on the night. I speak from experience of helping to organise speedway social evenings. Simples
  11. Well he wasn't successful coz I got s face full of it in the next heat!
  12. I stand on bend one and you could clearly see the 'dip' going into that bend (on the inside of the track) from the start of the meeting. A track guy pointed to this area when Dickson was driving the tractor. Dip remained.
  13. Wasn't a great advert for speedway at Leicester with the track issues & in some races you could tell riders were riding round rather than racing. Ironically the fastest times ever were being produced around there. After heat 2 tractor came out after nearly every heat.
  14. I won't be there .......unless Diamonds get Nicki P, Ruthless & Bjarne back before Wednesday?! Pirates to win 60-30 Was at Leicester last night, Nick Morris broke the track record again now stands at 59.37 in a 55-35 win over Oxford.
  15. Changes could also be made further up the team as well. It's not just a case of replacing one rider , 2 or 3 changes or more could be made to improve the team. So frowned upon? Not if other appropriate changes are made.
  16. The counter argument; Newcastle need to bring some riders in that will immediately strengthen the team at home therefore increasing the chances of winning Newcastle need to start winning at home or the inevitable will happen & the crowd will start to drift away. I don't think Newcastle's circumstances allow any more time to wait for rider improvement especially from a rider who is so young & new to British speedway.
  17. Ben Morley good option if he's to replace Congreve. I was at Plymouth vs Poole & he more than did his job. I also saw him ride at Leicester vs Redcar, he battled away but bigger tracks no good for him, he's too slow. Shud do ok round Brough Park, that's all Newcastle need at the mo.
  18. Rowe as got plenty of potential like Ablitt at Poole. They will or should be given time by Leicester & Poole respectively even tho they are two clubs that demand success. At least one thing is on their side, it's no so easy to bring in Johnny foreigner any more. Ablitt is my talent spot from seeing him ride at Rye House in 2018 along with Max Perry
  19. A return for Nicki P? Well Bjarne & Crumpy av doubled up in the Premiership & Championship so I wouldn't rule it out. And he nearly rode for Sheffield......so who knows? when things change in Poland it cud happen. If he was keen it wud need sum serious backing on the finance though.
