Leicester vs Glasgow 23/04 7pm
lbw replied to LisaColette's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I predicted Pirates wud take a point at Leicester which they did & I predicted a 49-41 win for Pirates at Oxford which ended in a 48-42 win for Pirates so I'm not doing too badly Who wud've predicted Leicester being torn apart at Plymouth & Scunny? Most wud've thought Leicester v Glasgow wud've been close so I doubt anyone wud've predicted 52-38?! Maybe I need to get me crystal ball tuned up a bit more for Leicester's track! -

Well done Lions on a good result, surprised me by the gap in the end. Well done to Joe & Dan on getting a 5-1 over Basso in heat 14, credit where credit due. -
Sounds like Peter York at Oxford!
-
But surely the heat details are wrong?
-
Why is Ablitt riding for Plymouth & Poole av no rider??? I take it this was the KO Cup fixture? Looks like a reet cock up! Better off not showing the heat results!

The whole team as been a disaster away from home until signs of hope at Redcar. For me tho it's The Twins that are not good enuff away from home & will most likely cost the Lions again when it comes to the business end of the season. Still, Lions will make the playoffs & plenty of time for Dickson to kick rearendum's! Maybe the Twins will move on to solids before then?! -

Goin to be close but can see Tigers taking the win. My reasons I've mentioned, in addition with no Howarth as at Redcar in the Lions team this will also prove crucial. -

I wud've been going to this one but mate can't make it. I can see Glasgow winning considering their overall strength rather than our 2 Cook's (Poole) being still a bit raw round Leicester last week. Brennan, Basso & Humey will kick ass at the Lions Den against the Twins & Rowe. That will see Tigers win 47-43. Crikey, hope we Pirates don't end up rueing the day when Basso & Humey both joined the Tigers! -
Appreciate the link, livestream/BSN not for me tho as I've got me fair share of live screened speedway thru Eurosport, Freesports & before that BT & Sky. Polish/Swedish/British/German/ Danish highlights on YouTube. Will follow the score on Speedway Updates tho

Not travelling down for this one, financial layout sadly not worth it as much as I'm a Pirates fan the opposition won't be competitive at Wimborne Road. Watched Brummies at Leicester, my local track, annihilation is an under statement! Birmingham did av a good following at Leicester tho which was great to see but whether that keeps up remains to be seen. Pirates 63-27 me thinks

If Lions buy a barbecue they cud av Bear Grylls!
-
He was performing well when he was with Sophie, things av dropped off since then!
-
Turnip's favourite comedian is ......Jasper Carrot!
-
Nicholls only scored 5 in the Championship! Conference league next for him!
-
Why should all male Scorpions go to the vd the clinic? Coz they av a sting in the tail!
-
Will the Lions av the necessities of life?
-
Well that's a Turnip for the books! Last night I went to bed with a potato, she couldn't get her jacket off quick enuff!

Nathan Ablitt is a star in the making, I first noticed him and Max Perry at Rye House in 2018. Maybe he's a season behind some of his age like the Thompson's but he'll come good & did his job on Wednesday Shame Pirates don't run a junior team so they could recruit from their own developing riders like Leicester av with the Twins and others to follow them. Max James (mascot at Leicester) who isn't old enough for the NL yet but when he is will be more than ready to kick botty!

Yep the dust was a major problem last night and I think the only thing Peter York got right was when he mentioned he couldn't be sure who finished where in one race coz he cudn't see (for the dust). But Leicester also had this issue last Saturday. No reason for dust in the evening's and that's since speedway started. Oxford need to invest in a bigger water truck like Belle Vue's in the future. I'd rather have wet shale flung at me, to clarify....that is not a fetish may I add! Peter York needs to subscribe to BSN & all armchair speedway! I didn't mind the loud pumping music, for me it's all part of a big booming entertainment package, Fanfare for the Common Man was great but then sum nonsense added on! Overall it was great to see Oxford back, to see crowds back & more in the future according to the programme. Yep more cud get in. Sum gripes are no different to most other venues from time to time & some are 'u can't please everyone'. 3rd bend was pure Piracy!

Yessssssssssssss The Pirates did the bizzo and Turnip made the Twitter vlog in the pits at Cowley .....see Steve's link above Very close to my prediction of 49-41 but hey at one point it looked like the meeting was gonna turn out differently so 48-42 & 3points .......well done lads Great to see Oxford back on track & to see it being fantastically supported. #piratepride
