As usual you totally ignore the bigger picture and think only of one club. If your club has big gates at August Bank Holiday they coukd stage play off or KOC fixture or pointless back slapping testimonials or any other contrived events on that weekend.

It's not rocket science. They try to over-accomodate Clubs. Some want to run from mid March to late October (the old Len Silver concept "every Friday at 8" ) that in days gone by worked for him. Those of us over 60 will well remember pretty much ALL Clubs did this, although there were twice as many Clubs then as now. In more recent times some Clubs actually prefer, mostly for financial reasons and gettin their optimum crowds, to run a shorter season. The Scottish Clubs with earlier main school holidays want to get as many Fixtures in July as an example, some of those in more tourist locations prefer to get there matchs in to suit (IOW when in the structure the best example) They had the balls this year to deliver a Legue programme that actually ENDED in mid August, but then totally ballsed it up by throwing in The Summer / Jubilee / what's it called this week, in July. That Competitiion not only stopped and split what was building in to a really competitive League programme but also caused the remaining league matches to increasingly become rain affected. Simple solution, allow Clubs to stage a couple of early Open Meeting (IF they wish), start the KOC at Easter weekend / week, start the League the week after, schedule ALL League Fixtures to finish by 15 August, leave 1 week in interim (April to mid August) for second round KOC for any who progress. The have PLAY OFFS mid August to first week in September. Give every team 2 x BLANK dates from mid April to mid August for rain off provision and allow them to fill in with OPEN meetings IF they aren't needed. THEN have a provision for an Autumn Competition along lines of 4 TT / Pairs for September / October ONLY for those that wish to enter and DONT penalise those Clubs who can have a voluntary "abstain" button if they don't want to run for financial / local considerations.

The track guy has already explained in detail the extraordinary lengths they've gone to in order to remove huge amounts of water from the drains. Locals have confirmed that it's rained pretty much every day for about 2 weeks.

So the one who insisted that Poole had to have choice when they raced Plymouth in the QF as Poole finished higher now changes his tune. Forum pillock Slovler. For factual reference. Leicester are League Champions, clear winners of the Championship League. They therefore carry priority to decide who has first pick in Play Off finals and are under no requirement to forgo that. If Poole hadn't put testomonial before League and Play Off this situation would not have occurred. If the Play Off cannot be completed Leicester are Champions based on League positions. Morally, ethically, pragmatically.

I'm sure every genuine speedway fan will agree with that and empathise totally with you and wish Stewart all the very best. Sadly a few morons from Poole know no boundaries of respect.

What's the point of putting down fresh dry material when it's raining every day at some point? Where you going to get 40 tons of such material from? The only certain thing about such a barmy scheme would be riders vanishing under or over the fence with career threatening injuries. You can't defy climate and weather. What next from the Poole trolls Should have gone to B+Q and bought wood and ply and roofing and erected a roof Should have gone to Leicester City and dug up the undersoil heating Should nip to EMA and nicked a jet engine to blow hot air on the track.

IF Saturday is Off and no chance of Sunday and as Monday day 31 October is official season end they could get a great crowd for the PL Pairs on Monday. Declare CL Champions and Runners Up on final League Table and present Awards before the PL Pairs. Job done

Feel genuinely sad and sorry for the Promotion here. They have battled on against all the odds really to stay running as standalone NDL as they simply can't afford anything else but can make NDL work. They have to deal with Stocks wrecking the track on most Saturday nights giving them minimal time to prepare and take all the flak that generates from some keyboard warriors who haven't a clue about the work involved and the work they put in. They continue to develop talent and should be roundly applauded and supported for that. Not their fault that sometimes other clubs can't do Sundays; and they have no doubt been forced by circumstances mostly outside of their control to run what should be "seasons biggest matches" in October when it's convenient for Clubs who are running 2 teams. Lets hope they can continue and can thrive and not be another lost NDL Club like Stoke and Buxton. Iwade have shown the way and another that deserve massive credit, hopefully Workington will provide new and fresh impetus for this vital tier.

If the tie cannot be held by 31 October, because both Clubs have been unable to fulfil all fixtures it should revert to league tale Champions are Leicester Runners Up are Glasgow.
