  1. Rule SMCcl/RGDBDF1. If any Rule persuant to a Management Committee Club requires a new rule, an overrule or just sorting pleas raise it for immediate approval by 6pm any day of the year.
  2. nice to see the gating tart Lawson making a pass without maiming someone, shame it needed a broken steel shoe for James Wright though, lovely inside move from Edwards to fly past Cook, that must have bought the house down.
  3. 100% 40 DEGREE baking for 2 days! They had 2 opitions (a) call it off and incur the wrath of keyboard warriors (b) run it with a baked surface and incur the wrath of keyboard warrios as they would have said lovely weather conditions perfect. Sometimes you CANT win - in fact in this troll fest social media age can you ever win! Nigel and the Directors and Laurence and his Staff have delivered an excellent surface almost all season, light years better than last. They deserve to be cut some slack under the kind of conditions NEVER seen before in the UK. Some places had markedly cooler weather in high 20's - but 40 degrees in central England (it was 51 in my car Tuesday afternoon on the drive) is off the scale.
  4. So you complain about the blue line! Then you complain not enough water! Have you the faintest idea of what would have happened had you watered that blue line, or worst still put more dirt on and watered that? It's never dusty at Poole is it mmm
  5. Any Speedway rider will tell you they NEVER prefer holes to be "filled in". They would rather see them and be aware of them, good riders can ride through them anyway. Covering them over just makes the situatuin worse as the danger (the hole) is hidden and wet replacement shale that can't be tyre packed in 10 minutes makes a problem even worse! Easy to stand there and pontificate rubbish....reality is very different
  6. Really??...possibly Pickering / Douglas / Nicholls / Batchelor / Harris / Sedgeman ??...
  7. Agreed Worrall a bit harsh in heat 1, Kerr exclusion a clear mistake. That would have been a big 5 1 over Danny.
  8. Good article in the local rag but may be someone should alert their switcboard about a swarm of bum orifices about to call them in disgust! They spelt Ablitt wrong (they have bb)
  9. I agree 100% Im certain that teams were effectively forced to move up after 2018 as the NDL was too strong for some in charge of the sport, and the bigger NDL clubs were threatened with a 35 point limit for 2019 so clubs like mine and Eastbourne would have been decimated. They then made the entry for us both and others later on subsequently ridiculously expensive and from memory only approved both in to the League relatively late, certainly Brummies were late to be approved. Like Plymouth in 2021 only after Somerset pulled out and Kent too in 2021.
  10. I think it depends who/how is funding it. Oxford are doing phenominally well but seem to have a significant budget behind them over a few years and it will be interesting to see how those figues stack up in year 2 if the team sn't delivering better results on the Track. I think too that they are pulling in some support from Swindon, Reading , even Coventry when I was there , that have been starved of Speedway for so long. A far bigger catchment area than Workington as an example. The scenarios of the last few Clubs to either move up or change hands and be in CL, Brummies / Eastbourne / Newcastle seems to be a case of good intentions on limited budgets and possibly a nievity in terms of the costs involved and the cost to build competitive Teams and of course Covid did no one any favours. Hearts ruling heads and the resultant struggles. It may be better to have a low budget and lower breakeven in the NDL for a year, and get everything set up and working before making that move up with some proven indication of the level of support and level of sponsorship. The other plain fact is that it's easier to be a big fish in a small pond especially with a competitive team than it is a little fish in a big pond with a team that's not competitive or good enough to win trophies where fans who mostly want success over the spectacle of the product can quickly drift away and Workington lets not forget WON everything going in 2018 yet still folded as the support had drfted away for whatever reason. The set up at Workington looks fantastic but as someone has said will need to bed in and be gradually improved. Imagine the foundations they could build with 1000 fans in NDL for a year; as opposed to 1000 in CL and just surviving probably.
  11. Hopefully Danny Kling and Nathan Allitt won't be too upset when they do the review
  12. be interesting if they have to spell arse or is it ass?, and is it one word or is the a comma or is it commer before the hole or i it whole?...
  13. I can't see any reference to Newcastle, am I missing something.? A very simple explanation of how RR works on the night is a positive for the newcomer or occasional fan. Says temp going to be quite cool 23 degrees. Well done Plymouth.
  14. Take Bewley off the top and Flint/Brennan off the bottom and frankly and not being disrespectful its a DIRE situation when you look at the ages, profile of the bulk of the field. Whilst Lambert and Bewley have flown the nest and we wait for the likes of Flint, Brennan, Kemp, Palin, Thompsons, Edwards etc to find their feet and ultimate level (and as the years go by what will that level be?) its boringly average by Global standards. What we really need is a European outlet for the Palins , Brennans , Edwards , Kemps but with Sweden in equally sorry state as us and Denmark not really fitting due to Wednesday racing it's a tough transition even to the bottom (3rd tier) in Poland, where our best younger riders get to feed off the scraps and tough to make a foothold. So who is the next rising 30 or even 40 year old to take a Crown that used to be the domain of genuinely world class riders?
  15. Was a good prospect but never delivered consistently above NDL level where he's ended back at with Mildenhall. Probably make more money weekends on grass and long track in Europe. One that got away like Wajneckht
  16. It's all to play for. I'll be surprised if Poole don't find an Aussie zinger to replace Ablitt. Glasgow look solid all round especially at reserve with Hume and Bailey, Bailey massively improved. However Cook isn't the Craig of old and Brennan and Basso in that outstanding on occasions but average next match phase of their careers. Not the strong team they were with Rasmus in it. Leicester have strong home team but need a number 7 and Thompson away form us an achilles heel If Plymouth can get MPT and Hans fit and Gilkes back and keep Guest or even RR for Kennett if he's second in averages would be very strong though carrying a reserve Redcar look massive dangers to me, Edwards is a revelation chipping in paid 6 or 7 up at number 2, and Jenkins strong at reserve. If they click are dangers. Can't decide Monarchs or Scunny 6th place, probably just Monarchs. Certainly lot more interesting than the 6 team borefest
  17. Smart bit of PR that to both set up interest and inform about the weather and track concerns that may have put people off travelling. If they don't know their team yet then best say that than put out something inaccurate. Good promoting.
  18. What's the point of a preview when you've no idea of one of the teams. Totally pointless. Monday is perfectly soon enough. As for Lawson he should have been banned for dangerous Riding based on video evidence. He deserves a welcome fit for a villain within sensible a tiins though. Having been to Plymouth a few times they seem to have more track kit than most so I doubt it'll be an issue, certainly not the issues us Brummies had. I'm sure most neutrals will be cheering for Plymouth
  19. We Speedway Fans, (some do some don't but we do seem to have a mentality some Sports don't have) seem to find anything and just about everything to moan at. Cash / Card / Contactless, Afternoon or Evening , Too dusty / too wet / too deep / too slick, masks or no masks ; quality of food, of toilets - the list is endless isn't it? The moaning and excuses not to go continue as more Clubs close and more Clubs struggle, but it's always someonelses fault when the Speedway closes as income v expenditure don't stack up or people stay away. Peolpe drift away. In the specific case of Oxford, words - at least polite ones fail me - Closed for years until an outstanding effort by some visionaries got it back against all the Odds.... its doing a great job for old Oxford fans and no doubt lapsed Swindon / Reading / Coventry / various London and Southern tracks etc. Still people moan, lets hope it doesn't close again because of these refusniks
  20. I guess the Sport should at least be grateful that you didn't have to resort to Lawson ramming opposition amidships this week to win....
  21. Apparently they have Nadine Dorres lined up as Minister for Culture and Sport to present the Prizes on Finals Day. She'll no doubt recall buying a Car off Danny Ford, seeing Mark Phillips ride at Badminton Horse Trials, thank John Campbell for his Soups, and praise Mr (Damian) Bates and Mr Dickson for being in many of her saucy novels.....oh not forgetting the picture of Barry Sheene that she had in her bedroom as a teenager.
  22. Since they tried to fill the ruts in with half of Sandbamks Beach the ruts just soak up the water
  23. Probably waiting to hear confirmation of our Guests and their own. Most Clubs do a preview the day before and some on the day especially when Guests are involved and most of the riders report in safe and sound from the PL matches the night before. Speedway GB only preview on the day. They seem to be generating a lot of excitement down there and so they must be doing plenty right. Poole seem to be a bit jittery of their small neighbours all of a sudden
  24. Are you related to Nadine Dorres....certainly Comedy value So you are suggesting Athletes who have arrived in to a very secure environment with an itiery based around their Sporting Events should leave the Secure village en masse and go to a Speedwat Match?. Would you expect them to pay or to get a free Pass. I'm sure that they would be flocking back to Birmingham or even extending their visits after the Commonwealth Games to stay on and watch some Speedway??.. Where also are the top Class riders going to come from to take part in the Commonwealth Event, a few Aussies?, the usual Home Contingent, maybe BW-D ? Parallel Universe time.....
