  1. I still think Starke and Gilkes and a Heat Leader. Could be BW-D but could be a foreigner as you suggest as not many British options left unless King and Ellis aren't going to Poole.
  2. If he stays fit could be a good asset but wild at times and therefore injury prone. Probably capable of 6.5 to 7 point average if staying fit and just calming down a bit.
  3. Not necessarily. Nichol lives in UK during the season and also started with a CL Club Sheffield who sponsored his work permit. It's possible he can get approval to extend up to PL too. Becker has resided in Europe for a while and main League is Poland and his initial work permit is for a PL Club. It's possible he is not allowed to extend down in to a lower level where (DofE consider) he may take income from UK born riders unfairly. Each work permit is different and allows certain things.
  4. I'm guessing Starke; Wilson-Dean and Gilkes Team Nicholls Starke Heeps Bacon Wilson-Dean Gilkes Ludwith strong top 5 got to question reserve strength? impregnible at Home though
  5. any rider out of a job in early April just wait for Debbie Hancock to call. #risky
  6. Re Garrity, he's like Barker, start season well, have a falling out leave in bust up, few weeks off , then go somewhere else and deliver. One day some bright spark will do a deal with other Club each rider rides for and swop them mid season and have good halves of both
  7. Would assume he'll set up a couple of bikes in UK and fly in/out of Bham/EMA on a Wednesday morning. All he has to do is turn up and ride!
  8. Heeps as predicted, Bacon an interesting one. If Heeps is 3rd Heat Leader and Bacon a second string it's very solid and promising. Heeps is such a marmite performer but if he gets dialled in there at CP would be excellent 3rd heat leader and Bacon just deserves some luck and very underrated. Good signings
  9. Plenty still about to fish for-: few decent not yet confirmed in order of my assessment of ability King / Ellis; Heeps / Starke; Barker; Mountain / Greaves; Sedgeman then as widely mentioned Morley; Wood; Bowtell;Gilkes..what about Luke Bowen? one from me out of left field...midweek track would be ideal ex Brummie..Zak Wajneckht?? (too good to not be riding in CL in 2020)
  10. Looks stronger than starting line up in 2019, especially at second string, if Kemp ignites and Edwards/Brennan improve could win a few more Away and be play off contenders. Be hard to beat over 2 legs.
  11. Looks strong 1-7 at home, should pick up enough points away especially up north to be more competitive overall than in 2019
  12. Looks a strong 1-5 my only worry if a Leicester fan would be can Douglas and Perks have such a great season again and that Proctor and Howarth are full on racers and therefore injury prone. Team of entertainers though for sure!
  13. Lawson goes well there and seems to be omitted from all Ipswich fans lists? nice 2nd string average in CL 5. something
  14. Danny King and Ben Barker may be ??. Not much else left unattached. Would they have Grobauer back? Possible they want to start with Rowe at reserve less top heavy?
  15. I'm only as informed as what we had to endure at Birmingham last winter in building a team by the time that most teams were staffed and options limited. I think we learned that with exception of Paco and to a degree Tero that British options that you know work best. I'm sure that Len will sort it.
  16. it's very hard for new Clubs moving up as we found last season and we only got Adam in when we did as he was "looking for rides" as Poland hadn't worked out. In Scott Nicholls you have an outstanding start but going to be hard to follow that up with another "big name" I think?? Poole would be favourites for Adam and Danny King and most of the others over 7.5 points are retained or signed up. I thought you might get Eddie Kennett but obviously not. I think best hope is to have Scott and a "Workington style" team of solid 5 and 6 pointer and then you have strong reserves all season. Days of len "buying a title" are over i would think as you'll need to get far bigger crowds in CL to compete with Glasgow / Leicester / Somerset / Poole etc who are big payers.
  17. Couldn't agree more about Danyon, certainly deserves a chance and would be a good reserve pairing with Paco. Was gutted he wasn't given a fair run last year, I heard Eastbourne tried to sign him after he left us but were not allowed due to his NDL Club objecting, goes to show if we don't snap him up now some other CL Club will. With Stoneman most likely to go to Somerset or back to Kent surely Danyon is a perfect no 7.
  18. what hogwash. We should be applauding clubs who promote and stay loyal to young British riders. They may struggle on occasions but far better for their development to be in and around proven higher level performers that winning NDL races by 1/2 a lap against people who will never be as good as they are now let alone in 12-24 months time. Most great Coaches in any Sport promote youth and look after them. I'm sure that Stuart Dickson knows what he is doing.
  19. Morris has been nailed on for weeks just been waiting for points limit to be confirmed. Bowtell has had a few good rides in CL and NL round PB but seems very inconsistent. With the right mechanical advice and someone who knows how to set a bike up at our place he could do well and might be an interesting shout.
  20. Great news, what a Team of racers we are building. Next signing though will have to be T Dirt...Tons of it!
  21. It is good for British Speedway for sure. I remember the days when Eastbourne in the 70;'s when great rivals of the Brummies in 2nd Tier had an incredible conveyor belt of talent. I like the way they are not scared of giving youth a chance. It may not pay off right away but if they could have Brennan / Kemp / Edwards in 2-3 years time then this team would look very visionary. I'm not sure who is driving the vision down there as Jon Cook seems to be rarely mentioned and it's more Trevor Geer and Will Pottinger driving things forwards, but well done.
