  1. Tatum is far better than Pearson, Quirke is awful The bloke on Freesport is even worse. Get the guy who will be the Announcer at Cardiff, don't know his name or someone like Alex Raby - vast improvement on what they have now
  2. Can't see Broc riding for a Saturday Team as I think the next nut they will try to crack is "Poland". Can't see the point of him riding for a "small track" team either, plan should be to improve on bigger European type circuits, he can ride tracks like Eastbourne with his eyes shut. He will want to be following Luke Becker in exploring European scene and therefore a midweek track would suit a lot better as he could ride PL on Monday / Thursday and have a "Home base" in CL also midweek. Fanciful thinking I know but Birmingham would suit him perfectly!
  3. It's also a fact I'd have thought that any Saturday / Sunday track in UK will struggle to sign European riders not just because of Poland but also a lot of meeting on shale, grass and sand across the Continent on a Sunday every week. I look at some of the Northern CL Teams stacked full of johnny foreigners and think well done to any Club that picks British when possible. sensible positive Spin and PR is sadly lacking at too many Speedway Clubs so any that actually do some "promoting" should be applauded not chastised.
  4. reading the press releases from eastbourne the authorities should be more ashamed they have refused Eagles permission to use a bloody good reserve in Danyon Hume who wants to ride for them. No doubt if he was some johnny foreigner no one had heard of he'd be fine. more ashamed should be Georgie Wood who gets himself another ban for being totally unprofessional for the IOW and letting them and Eastbourne down.
  5. shame if CW is out of CLRC only one I could see getting close to Danny King. No fault of King but i think RC should be on neutral track, if there is such a thing when they all double up. may be hold it at IOW or Mildenhall LOL
  6. nice of them to at least make people aware to avoid disappointment. I'm still shocked to find so many speedways that allow only cash anyway.
  7. can understand them ditching Morley as he was 1/2 lap behind in away matches. Longer term got them Edwards who looks an absolute belter.
  8. long said, Wood has been shafting IOW and Eastbourne (especially away) all season. you can't pick and chose meetings when it suits you in this sport, requires 100% commitment. IOW can use a Guest, Eagles can use RR so probably both glad to see back of him blokes got great talent and wasted it. Won't be first or last to do that. would think no Promotion will touch him next season.
  9. Paramedics at Brum are world class as we have seen many times, pit electrics on the other hand doh!
  10. I'd say main asset would be for team manager to be a qualified electrician.
  11. of them Pottinger would seem most suited. Local lad and well liked in the sport all indications are Cradley wont come to tapes next season and a few miles across the West Midlands once a week would seem to be more desirable to a Black County lad surely than a trek down to Sussex where they seem to have more team managers and management than anyone else. Will would do a great job I'm thinking. Gerrim in
  12. Don;t Poultec and No Limits use Leicester for Practise Days on a regular basis. It's daft to think Leicester would unnecessarily reduce to 40 point from 43 plus..... Berwick ; Newcastle or Eastbourne far more likely. Or maybe he will go to a PL side and ride PL and NDL
  13. if Sheffield don't want him why would you say sport is finished and why would you deny the kid employment... if you deny a British kid a chance to ride elsewhere then that's far worse in my opinion.
  14. would imagine any Club in with a chance of a trophy would be interested in Drew? wonder if Leicester / Redcar / Glasgow / Newcastle / Eastbourne are pondering a move?
  15. pretty obvious that Cook appealed so that he went to Qualifier race fit rather than stone cold and it has backfired. Now Glasgow and Kings Lynn will suffer for his petulance and arrogance. Would have been better to have served his ban like Vissing and Kennett and got some rest to his wrist and some practice on similar tracks to Qualifier. Doubt he'll ever qualify for a full SGP season again as others improving across Europe and World all the time. Lambert is only realistic SGP option we have over next 3-4 years.
  16. Glasgow have to factor in Cook ban too!
  17. You have a Competition with clearly defined rules so you have to accept the winners. If NK-I and Zagar qualify on merit, fair play to them. I'd rather them qualify on merit than see the likely "wild card" handed to Hancock as an example. Wild cards for 2020 should be stacked in favour of some of the younger / newer guard coming up
  18. It's the equivalent of "transfer deadline day" this week sometime i believe. Have a suspicion quite a few tams in play off and contention for Cup's and Shield will be making some major changes. Will their be an exodus from Sheffield to Leicester and vice versa?; will Somerset and Glasgow tweak; or Redcar / Eastbourne / Newcastle for KOCup?
  19. Down in Kent visiting relatives and popped over, so glad i did as this was possibly best meeting i've seen all year and for any neutral the semi final KOC between these 2 is a must i'd say. Best I've seen track there in a long time, no dust, even watering nice dirt line and enough passing for 3 meetings anywhere. Great atmosphere, all very friendly and Redcar most impressive the way they attacked the track and Eastbourne heat leaders and Newman outstanding.Anothrt big crowd too at Eastbourne 4th time i've been this season and looked over 1000 there again. I can't work out who'd take a mental advantage as Bears made a few errors mainly in midst of outstanding fast paced racing and Eagles fielding an NL reserve (Marson) for Bowtell may have a lot more up their sleeves as Edwards could easily have doubled his score but for machine issues. A shame this is not going to be KOC Final as surely either side will muller Newcastle in Final. Charles Wright a canny little dig at Craig Cook on the Parade, seemed to enjoy himself and a proper British Champion.
  20. May be NDL Matches have to be held on a Saturday and Sunday only - you refer to MX and Grass - that's Saturday and Sunday and occasional Bank Holidays. Just a thought that would ease pressure on these kids (and some of the older more experienced types have chance to work) in and allow time for study / apprentiships etc, and less stress for parents too. Might not suit Clubs like Kent / IOW etc but still be room for them in a higher League??
  21. you must have had your eyes shut or the blinkers on for most of the last 50 years?? Nip to Kent as an example and ask Len about some of his famous or should it be infamous dust up's at Hackney, physical and verbal. There are about another dozen of the old Promoters I could mention who could handle themselves in a fight or spat and regularly did.
  22. I'm sure that many fans and many officials of many Clubs would tell you that Craig Cook can be a very naughty boy when the mood takes him. Bit of a split personality and obviously 3rd August was a very dark day. Your obvious hatred of the Dugard family (for whatever reason justified or not) clearly clouds any serious judgement that you may have.
  23. I agree but wonder if Bowtell is out for more than a few weeks if they might look at Hume for him? I suppose Wood's home form and a couple of 2 legged matches coming up saves him? Hopefully though with James out for season Brummies may get Danyon back and quickly.
  24. Georgie Wood is surely taking the michael now - misses matches for IOW gets 7 days, has not ridden for IOW since and just tootles round the back of the field from reports in Eastbourne away matches. No doubt he'll turn up at Arlington on Saturday get a bagful of points and then miss next week for IOW. Then the same repeat repeat! Shame that Jon Cook / Trevor Geer / Ian Jordan / Will Pottinger and Co don't have the balls to sack him; I'm sure most Promoters would have by now. I'm sure Martin and Connor Dugard would have if he was in charge down there still.
  25. it's pretty clear what has happened at Cradley and on this occasion Mr Mark Robinson is 100% right. The Patchett / Pearson Promotion has been happy to leech off the fantastic support for as long as they can and made a big killing off it. They then managed to get their stooges on to the Supporters Trust and access to what was left of their "fighting fund" for use to support planning applications etc. They used that money to cover costs this season. They have absolutely NO INTEREST in Cradley Heath Speedway now other than as a credit on their Bank Statements. The "well is nearly dry" and they will vanish It is an absolutely crying shame that a great name will vanish and this time will be a lot more difficult to ever get back. As a Brummies fan I know how long it took us to rise from the Ashes, we had a legend like Brian Buck fighting our corner, Pearson and Patchett are not fit to be mentioned in the same breath
