That implies it has been sold for development and not to a Stock Car Promoter as all seems very final? Sad but i fear won't be the last this winter.

I think you are spot on the money Problem is, Buster will engineer a 10 Team League get the BT dosh and the rest will be left to fend for themselves in a lower level composite league. That might put 5-6 Clubs to the wall but Buster wont be bothered as he'll be raking it in.

I went to the Somerset meeting late July (only meeting on that day) and it poured all way there but I remember someone saying Eastbourne have their own Met office weather supplier and raced based on that? Not sure how much it costs but the Meeting was a great advert and a last heat decider so well worth every penny I'd say.

The fact of the matter is Cradley have to fit around (a) availability of track secondary in pecking order to Wolves (b) can't gain access to the Track until around 6.15pm and that often becomes 6.30pm due to afternoon BAGS Dog Racing at the Stadium. There is the added complication that as Cradley are a Monday venue that have to work around Len's schedule of running every week. All very well saying 1/2 price admission for an Away fan but how do you identify clearly an "away fan" and what about home fans who say "I only want to watch 1 meeting". Hopefully is won't rain next week and the matter will be solved to the benefit of all.

we'll have to agree to disagree, for me it's not about personaility but more direction I think SGP needs to be looking to go in with more vibrant young blood. $64,000 question is "where is that young blood". Or more "Madsens" peaking later but becoming very effective later in career like Doyle before him.

Agree entirely about Hancock. Great rider and servant to the sport but a year out at 50 (for all the right and laudable reasons) is a bit like Formula 1 inviting a 60 year old driver back for a "farewell season". It would devalue the series in my opinion. Better if they wish to "celebrate Greg" to allow him to race and get fit at a decent level in Sweden and then give him a few wild card picks or injury replacement picks in Countries where he is most popular.

Not sure Leicester would pick Somerset with Schlein, Harris; Covatti and Morris now in the side and Schlein a bit of a track specialist at leicester and Harris / Covatti / Morris in good form too.

If you'd have asked me end of June I'd have said I agree we might not run CL but things have picked up numbers and enthusiasm wise in the past couple of months, especially since school holidays and I would be more hopeful. I think CL would have to remain same or may be reduce costs a bit more for that to happen though and may be run a shorter season? Surrounded as we are by football (4 clubs in 10 mile radius + Wolves soccer and speedway) I think late April to late August is best for us. Had no luck with weather and power issues (ahem) earlier on either too much stop/start.

probably nearer 1500 but as opinion polls go ask You Gov that would be very good sample. Cook does himself no favours with behaviour like that day and at Wolverhampton (where I was) on Monday. At least KL management had sense to get him withdrawn from meeting b4 he damaged himself or someone else. Cook needs to be signed off permanently until he can sort himself out with proper help and support as Dale Allitt so wisely said in SStar last week.

Redcar v eastbourne koc semi finals 6/7 sept

I think most neutrals will be rooting for Redcar in Play Offs and KOC and be nice to see Eastbourne win the Shield. Both Clubs made good progress this season and promoted in right way. -
judging by reception at CLRC about 80% of CL supporters agree...Cook is NOT very popular..
-
Gilkes to Birmingham - you read it here first - Midlands based and suit him ideally. (a fair bit of wishful thinking). Think a fair few will be in for him and not just at CL level as remember reading wasn't happy Kent didn't have Saturday race night he was promised.
-
Should be 12 day ban plus whatever they add on for the fact he has no new evidence and was just a stunt to get him in to GP Qualifier race fit and CLRC at which he made a complete muppet of himself and his Club. Hence the reception by fans of every other Club.

I think Eagles got a real bum rap from the Cook and Lanning mafia after the now infamous brawl there. Having been there several times this season, I think Jittendra Duffills assessment is far more the reality than the storm that followed Glasgow. Definitely a nice and welcoming venue and I look forward to Brummies 3rd trip of the season there at the end of the month. I understand that Brummies fans will have free admittance too as a generous mark of respect from the Eagles Management; for cancelling the planned match (coincidentally the infamous 3 August Glasgow match) at short notice on BSPA instructions - which cost some Brummies fans wasted hotel booking. -

Glasgow v Berwick , CL 6/9/19@19-30

Facebook post says it all really, Cook looking miserable in his parka in the rain (old photo not a live one). Cook clearly either not "in the right place" or "not happy with the track" . Can't risk another home defeat so called it off. -
comes over too as a sensible lad. didn't dive in to NDL last season when he might have done and I see not dived in to CL this season when no doubt some Clubs would be asking him to fill reserve slots. I suspect he will do another 1-2 seasons in NDL and do a deal for CL over the winter (if 3 tiers remain). He lives in Midlands so any number of tracks would be likely destinations.

Quirke is very poor when compared to Sophie Blake Sophie Blake is adequate when compared to Suzi Perry Perry ultimate Motor Sport professional and speedway fan BTW anyone remember when Julia Bradbury did it??...

Wood useless away though big fat 0 last time he went to Redcar, Newman + Edwards (excellent there) can have 3 rides as R/R so could easily be 6 or 7 points away that Wood wouldn't have got. With Bowtell average so low not much scope for reserve Guests and quite possible Len won't let Gilkes ride in CL with NDL play off's looming and so many injuries to his Kent team including Gilkes, this season! -
10 and 10 then...how close do you think this is?? Big League - Premier 7 (-1) + Glasgow; Sheffield, Somerset, Leicester (10) NDL - Berwick, Brum, Eastie, Redcar ; Scunny; IOW; Kent; Mildenhall; Plymouth; Stoke (10) (no Edinburgh? / Newcastle? / Cradley / Cubs + Colts go too??.. who is struggling PL Team??....(Peterborough??)..
-
good match tonight and good to see Tobias riding well.
-
2 Leagues of 10 and an NDL may be about as good as we could expect right now. Any thoughts of who 10 and 10 would be as currently 7 and 11??
-
Their is an agreement with "One Stop" Shopping Centre that normally allows 4 hours on Speedway Nights when they are usually very accommodating. Its actually site of the previous Track.

I do wonder if this might be our swan song few weeks in Championship? Rumours number Clubs struggling may move down to NDL make lot more attractive proposition especially if "one league" takes off and they have about 12 Clubs in it. Can see a top 7 now plus Glasgow; Leicester ; Sheffield ; Somerset with either Redcar or Scunthorpe next most likely. The rest would go NDL to keep running and big cost savings. Would make stronger NDL ideal for Clubs like Brummies
