whatever who did what and when are you seriously suggesting Craig Cook had no part in the build up? -

if Craig cook came to Birmingham and rode round ignoring red lights and flag waving marshalls and one of our marshalls stood there as last man putting his own safety before kids are you telling me that would be right??.. The Marshall was all that was between Cook and the public and had seen Cook ignore red lights and his fellow marshalls flags. The video also shows him showing remarkable restraint after being attacked by Cook, a pity that some others didn't show restraint on both sides. By all means impose a fine/punishment on Dugard and Juul and Vissing etc. but in my honest opinion confronted with Cook riding towards me with no interest in stopping i would do exactly same things and have marshalled on Grass and other ACU/ACMA events (not speedway). Cook has previous for foul moth rants and attacking officials, Jason Pipe springs to mind, this is another official (marshall) he has attacked. Should be banned for rest of season and sacked by Glasgow in my opinion. -

The implication of that is that if cook did not have previous form in terms of assaulting Track Officials, he would have received same punishment as Kennett and Vissing. I'd argue from what I've seen that Cook's actions were pre-meditated by events of previous 90 minutes, Vissing acted like an idiot all night and Kennett over reacted to seeing Cook's attack om Marshall. I would suggest if 10 days is the entry level that Cook is very lucky not to get 20+ days. -

Don't know why IOW don't get Bowtell back, he did great there last season. Bin Wood who has let IOW down in recent weeks, missing matches and crying off.. -
very much agree we finally have top end grunt and lower end power and whilst the Danish kid has not delivered great points yet he shows potential. if we can avoid bottom (wooden spoon) no reason why we can't finish closer to middle than top and we should have Newcastle, Berwick, Edinburgh and Eastbourne in our sights as not out of the question we can't finish 6th or 7th and that would be a great achievement. Just a shame we started so poorly and had no chance in KOC or Shield before we even started season in reality. Lot of credit to David and Peter Mason and Laurence for persevering and hopefully will encourage them to try again in 2020. Crowds are building as is atmosphere and place feels good again.

This will run and run until The SCB grow some balls and announce the result of the Inquiry and any penalties and punishment handed down. It has been widely reported that Neil Vatcher was there, indeed reported that he walked the Track and quickly made a decision that it was perfectly fit for racing and told the Referee and Glasgow to "get on with it". No doubt he will have gathered statements and evidence from all concerned. The longer it drags on the more the lies and spin are spun and the pointless debate about side issues will be created by those who seek to explain the unexplainable in support of one side of the argument or the other. My own opinion has not changed. The atmosphere was created by a side who made out they did not want to ride and the track concerns were a smokescreen and mind games to try to put off the opposition. All pictures and video of the track shows it to be in perfect racing condition, the tetchy atmosphere created by Glasgow affected a rider well known to have stress and emotional issues, he boiled over and all hell subsequently let loose. That does not exonerate anyone from either side who then got involved in "handbags" but you have to go back to the root of the issue and punish (if necessary) those proportionately the most and then levy down the scale to involve any one who acted in a manner detrimental to the Sport, if considered guilty. The fact that the Glasgow Owner has subsequently commented that "I know a lot has already been said on social media. It was an incredible occasion; probably the closest I've seen Speedway come to an Old Firm Celtic v Rangers match.... A SPEEDWAY MATCH with that level of intensity and excitement - should we be moaning or actually rejoicing that our Sport so roundly criticised in recent years can actually once again generate a great atmosphere in front of a big crowd??? - are the riders of Glasgow and Eastbourne in that case heroes or villains??. (Peter Facenna in Speedway Star goes on to say "A bit of controversy never hurt any sport in my opinion" and later on "However, that doesn't get away from the fact that Eastbourne were the better team on the night and we were never in the hunt to defend the small lead that we had. In truth we lost the tie in the first leg, we needed at least a 14 point lead to defend and we didn't do enough at Ashfield......But that's the way it goes in sport.I congratulated Eastbourne on their success and wish them all the best in the final, they deserved it over the two legs, simple a sthat" Pretty simple analysis, Facenna knows his side tried all they could but failed, congratulated the victors and has moved on -: so the resultant announcement of those penalties could be done in days, not weeks nor months. Then we can all move on and may be think about how all Speedway Clubs can generate that level of intensity, excitement, controversy and column inches. -

There are a number of other sides in PL and CL doing things as well as if not better than IOW but Barry Bishop is probably the most flamboyant and confident Promoter of this generation. I don't think its a case that some of the others are going wrong. I think the media hold Pearson and AP have limits many Clubs, certainly my own Club is very poor and quality of website, social media and programme is way behind the best and I think the Clubs doing best are more "independent" in their Media, Marketing and Communications. IOW do have advantages many clubs don't have certainly in likes of Local Government and Local Transport support and also in having no real alternative sports competition in their vicinity (an island after all) but credit where it is due they do very well., Bishop is a massive asset for them. The day Birmingham City Council and W Midlands Transport lay on 1% of the help IOW get I suspect the Masons will think they have won the Lottery. Cradley Heath have fought for years against an awful Council campaign of indifference. Other clubs have made real progress and may be Barry Bishop needs to spread his wings and look at using his undoubted skills, may be at Poole? or Oxford?? Funny thing in relation to this 40+ page attack on Glasgow and Eastbourne is they are probably in the best 3-4 Clubs at Marketing and Promoting, and Craig Cook light years ahead of most British Riders in his Media; so may be they have got us all duped! -

Having recently read a 2 page spread in Speedway Star about the excellent Community Programme at Arlington seems Eastbourne need no lessons from anyone on promoting family sport. Speedway Star this week states over 3000 first time young visitors to Arlington this season, I bet even Barry Bishop would welcome that! Glasgow too very keen to market a "family sport" Craig Cook should note that! Just look at the number of kids/families in the crowd https://www.eastbourne-speedway.com/eaglestv/ (Pitside Championship Shield 3/8/2019 - lasts 23 minutes) -

The Speedway Star article by Craig Cook looks like it was the website/media he put out on Monday and subsequently taken down by Cook on Monday night. "Cook was quick to make a statement on Monday" - SS article says Have SS over-stepped the mark or is it the work of Glasgow based Lannings?? and why is Cook was forced to take it down pending Inquiry has SS published it? There is an allegation in there from Cook that the Eastbourne Track was the cause of Tom Brennan injury - god help Craig when Martin Dugard (step dad of Brennan) reads that! - surely libellous if incorrect. Also an allegation of a "gutter" between track and kerb. Surely if there is one would have been picked up by Referees sooner / earlier this season (or is Cook implying it was created ??) or they would have been asked to fill in yet no one there has reported any "gutter work"??? any Eagles fans know about this "gutter" ?? I wonder if the SCB will have to make comment on Speedway Star for printing that interview whilst inquiry is ongoing. A lot of apologies in SS in recent weeks, latest is on same page as these articles (P9) TOTALLY UNRELATED an apology to family of Dan Gilkes for mis-representing him. Strange if SS have put in an article Cook was asked to take down - OUCH! -
have to agree Garrity is a revelation. should look at Adam ; him and AN Other as Heat Leaders next season Paco and Tero at 4 and 5 and Shanes and Ashley at 6 and 7 thats play off team!

Not sure it has. True Edwards had poor night last night but according to Eagles own Press Briefing had scored 5 at Glasgow and 5+2 at Redcar, Morley away average was way less than that and in easier matches, as for Wood, his away average is less than 2. That's where Easties season long away problems are firmly with Wood and previously Morley. (other than win at ours in Shield) Doubt Morley would have scored anything on that track last night, he'd have been 1/2 lap behind as hates anything but slick, e.g Lakeside and Arlington. Doubt Morley would have been competitive at Glasgow or Redcar. He is a very good NL rider that is all. Edwards is 16 and could be a very good rider in a few years although disappointing last night. Eastie strong top 3 and promise of Edwards and Brennan when he comes back will be totally wasted if they continue with Wood away. Spoke to Eastie fans who sit up in Bar and they said the result at Glasgow was mainly points got from RR as Wood was sick and missing or tactically sent on holiday some thought. Kyle was probably their best rider other than Lawson and Bowtell is improving a bit. Kyle deserves a long run somewhere and would do a good second string job for Easties if they can fit him in for 2020. Unlucky for Eastie that Shanes finally put it all together. Track suited him though with his grass track experience, thought Kennett would have done better for that reason.

No brainer for me Shanes had to go in Heat 15 as he deserved it. Not sure what denying Eastbourne a point or not has to do with it as neither of us have any chance of making Play Offs?

later today you'll be in denial of The Holocaust. Grow some balls and admit the instigator and chief culprit was Craig Cook Foe every action there is a reaction. The reaction may have been disproportionate but the culprit quite clearly is Cook. Throw the book at him. -

not sure what happened to Wood tonight? won heat 1 despite nearly having his team mate off, then stone last in next 2 rides then cried off with back injury but never fell off? strange if he cries off tomorrow does he get another 7 day illness ban? fishy! -
Heard they had relaid the track? Whatever they have done it needs digging back up and blading. Worst I have seen it for many a year, holes on both bends, very wavy and riders picking up all over the place Shanes found a magical line inside of 2nd bend 3-4 times but not a great advert for Speedway and just grateful both sides seemed to get away intact although reported Wood had some kind of back injury although he did not seem to fall. Spoke to Tero and Adam after meeting and both agreed it was very bumpy and didn't help their respective injuries. Home win but a shallow one

The excellent and regular documentary includes plenty of filmed and interview evidence from both sides taken before during and after the meeting regarding track conditions and no doubt everyone can make their won mind up about the actual track conditions once racing started. Looks very good conditions and racing to me. https://www.eastbourne-speedway.com/eaglestv/ I assume that contains nothing that is part of Inquiry?? certainly nothing controversial in it but a good insight and they do have superb media there. Everyone i have spoken to who was there says the same thing, Glasgow tried to intimidate an inexperience referee, Vatcher was there and called to go to Pits and once he did and walked track it seems Glasgow told to get changed and stop messing about and parade started 10 minutes late, after a short bit of chain grading. -
Been there 5 times this season as less than an hours drive , 4 CL Fixtures all good crowds and 1 NL Fixture with what would be double Coventry got last season. Have read the article 3 x now and doesn't strike as desperation to me, more like asking more to come to enjoy the product. Looking at crowds at other tracks I've been to in PL and CL and Cradley if Leicester are in trouble then lord help some of the rest!

I stand by my earlier comment. "Glasgow started it and Eastbourne finished it" The bullied were not intimidated and fought back literally! Mind games sometimes work on this occasion if would appear that they didn't and were returned with interest. This was pretty norm for speedway in the days of far bigger crowds, real men not whimps and before social media and the inevitable issues that brings. Good old fashioned proper partisan speedway like i used to see at places like brandon, Dudley Wood, Blackbird Road, Smallmead; and countless others. The point is lets enjoy it while we can PLEASE!
