How would that work against Oxford? He'd be riding for Berwick and managing Oxford at the same time? Nothing would surprise me... However I think we've seen the end of Jason's riding consistently days... Was a privilege to see him again for one last season. Even if I did only start watching speedway right near the end for him, I could just tell how big of a legend he was...

This thread just isn't interesting at all. Nothing to do with Poole speedway now, or what their team is going to be, or their plans for 2022. It's just a lot of people bickering and arguing, how boring. I feel sorry for any of the Poole fans who have an actual interest in their club.

Oxford Cheetah Cubs 2022
Diamonds85 replied to old bob at herne bay's topic in National League Speedway
I'd personally rather see the next Danny Ayres, Steve Worrall, Craig Cook rather than seeing James Chattin and Ryan MacDonald again (no offence to them lads, but they just haven't cut it with so many opportunities) Fair enough, if the league was bigger, there'd be more space for the likes of James and Ryan. I'm sure if a promotion is willing to put a rider in their NL team on a 3.00, even if they are a ex motocross rider, they'll have had plenty of experience on a speedway bike at the many training days across the country. There are currently a couple riders just from the top of my head I can think of who have just transitioned from road racing and motocross who are based in the midlands of the country. They are older lads (late 20s) but they are very talented at riding fast bikes. They could do a real good job helping our leagues grow into more homegrown riders, which is what we need at the end of the day. -
2022 championship predictions
Diamonds85 replied to Jaizer's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
They're the Belle Vue of the championship -
Excellent news...

1 Kyle Bickley 8.75 2 Kieran Douglas 4.18 3 Greg Blair 7.57 4 Ben Rathbone 4.00 5 Connor Bailey 8.34 6 Mason Watson 3.91 7 Ace Pijper 3.00 What about this for the team? Connor would be brilliant in the NDL, and I think it would do him the world of good also, he needs to get more experience under his belt rather than just riding for Glasgow or else he may stagnate. If he can have a brilliant season in the CL and NDL, he could push for a PL number 8 or Rising Star spot in 2023 easily... A bright talent, I just feel he hasn't ridden enough yet. And I'm sure Glasgow would be more than happy to let him have more experience... Great team... Lots of young talent and lots of local academy riders also...

Having Danny King, Steve Worrall and Richard Lawson as 'what's left over' isn't too bad though, is it?
-
1 Max Fricke 8.81 2 Jye Etheridge 5.22 3 Brady Kurtz 7.27 4 Charles Wright 5.92 5 Tai Woffinden 6.85 6 Jake Allen 4.80 7 Tom Brennan RS 38.87 0.13 If Belle Vue could pull off that team, they'd be unstoppable... Although there's been plenty occasions in the past where teams on paper don't perform on the track... I wonder whether this would bankrupt them also... Although I don't imagine the government will be happy if they supported building a stadium just for it to sit empty?

He's coming in for Belle Vue... Not Poole, Glasgow or Scunthorpe... His average will have doubled since he last rode here

Kevin Wolbert was mentioned a few times in the Edinburgh thread a few weeks back and he's ridden for Birmingham before hasn't he? Would he be a popular addition, or not? I think he has the skill, if he takes the uk seriously, to be a brilliant rider over here, solid number 1. I am not sure if he'd even want to ride in the uk though, or if he rides in Denmark already, it rules him out... Birmingham seem to have little to no options left... Please don't tell me it's gonna be Josh Auty at 1 and James Shanes at 5!!
-
Would be nice to see Willie Lawson in the Armadale side... Or else he's not gonna get a ride anywhere. Not sure if he's classed as a big hitter or not though, but it may allow for a little extra strength in depth. Both the Millars at reserve, George Rothery at 2 rather than 4 etc...

Is it anyone's business what a rider gets paid? It's not my business what you get paid, so it's not your business what I get paid...

I've always not been Claus' biggest fan (for some reason, I have no idea why) and I was a little disappointed when he signed for the Diamonds for 2020, even if it didn't work out in the end. HOWEVER... I would be GUTTED to see Claus has been lost to speedway From what I saw of him he was a brilliant rider and always give it his all... If a little angry at times. I have never really known why I didn't like him as much as other riders... I just didn't... Come back Claus!!
-
Looking forward... I'm guessing Danny King, Steve Worrall and Richard Lawson will be the heatleaders with the Cooks as the second strings? And Drew Kemp and Nathan Ablitt at reserve?
-
Bring back green!! haha... I am personally fine between yellow and white, but I understand that others may not be able to see, especially on a dark September night up in Glasgow
-
Racesuits are ok... But leave the bike covers and helmets alone!! They're the riders identity...
-
Decent, experienced reserve though to partner with young Jacob, not a bad option imo, but I agree... He's never going to make it big...
-
1 Sam Masters 9.41 2 Lasse Fredriksen 5.00 3 Kye Thomson 5.46 4 Paco Castagna 5.52 5 Josh Pickering 8.34 6 James Sarjeant 4.08 7 Jacob Hook 4.00 41.81 0.19
-
Who? And when?
-
Looks an interesting team, yes... But it's hard to say how good it'll be, so not guaranteed trophy contenders yet!! Mind you... It has A LOT of potential to be a brilliant team, if Lasse and Jacob are gems... Time will tell
-
I'm gonna sound harsh... But that's a shame. Good kid, ok second string but disappointing finish to such a promising looking side and well under the limit. Regardless, good luck Connor and good luck Plymouth for 2022

I really like how Edinburgh announce their team tbh... I bet it's annoying having to wait so long, but once the livestream (on THEIR WEBSITE ) comes around and they announce the riders one by one and interview some and give a little thought about the signings, it's really good and very professional for a speedway team at least. Better than some Twitter post and some generic picture of said rider. Well done Edinburgh, always up there near my favourite 3 or 4 clubs Even though I've still never had the opportunity to visit yet...

From what I've seen of Eli I've been impressed tbh, a lot of people say he's not ready but I really don't understand that, which is why I keep bringing up his name over and over. HOWEVER, I have only ever seen him at practice days at Scunthorpe and Leicester, riding by himself, I know riding with 3 others in a race is totally different. Let's see how he gets on. Ben Trigger will be an excellent reserve, especially at Plymouth. Top 5 looks powerful too, looks like a decent side imo.
-
Actually I've got it!! 1 Dan Gilkes 10.30 2 Adam Extance 5.67 3 Richard Andrews 6.55 4 Charley Powell 5.00 5 Henry Atkins 5.86 6 Ben Trigger 3.57 7 Eli Meadows 3.00 39.95 0.05 Few returnees

If there's 5.05 left for the final rider I'd go with Jamie Halder every day of the week... Very underrated NL rider imo... Only other options I could think of would be David Wallinger or Joe Alcock if he's returning... I heard last year that Wallinger was looking for a team, but that never came of anything, so I dunno if he's still considering? The only other logical average that could fit would be George Rothery... But that's a canny hike for him every Tuesday
