What average would Pedersen & Hausl start on? I'll assume Pedersen has experience in his homeland & has ridden in the top Danish league & the Polish U24. Hausl is only in Germany but has a Seychelles passport so like Aussies Kiwis & SA riders is from the Commonwealth.

With the "only one over 8.00 rule" I don't think we can look at last seasons squads & say weather or not they are stronger or weaker than the coming year. Oxford have Masters as their one over with a 10+ & that brings in issues further down the list & that of course means the reserves are from the NDL on minimal averages. Whilst Masters will be expected to maintain his form & Riss may improve the next 3 Rowe McDiaramid & Killeen must return at least their average or better for Oxford to achive their goals. The current Oxford setup has long stood by their faith in developing riders to a higher standard & that list continues to grow. I hope the pair at reserve can improve & I'm sure there will be no shortage of effort as there will be other members of the clubs NDL team looking to grab a chance at the higher level

Dayle Wood is a great guy. A late comer to speedway & over the last couple of seasons with regular racing he has improved & his development is showing in his Aussie form. When the 2026 season gets underway he will give Oxford 100% & maybe a bit more on & off track. I doubt he will ever reach a massive average but I can see him getting up to 5.00 in this team.

With only a single rider above 8.00 I'd say Rowe has a very good chance of improving his starting average. If Masters is to be that rider over 8.00 then his 10+ takes a big chunk out of the build up of the squad. Cam Heeps has flatterd to deceive & for a rider that was a heat leader to drop to reserve is not acceptable & although his average looks a bargin can he get back to be a consistent scorer. Mcdiarmid & Killeen have the talent to move up along with Gilkes if fit. The number 7 is a lottery I know Oxford are keen to move the NL riders up into the team. I would like to see someone new come into this team possibly Mario Hausl or Casper Hendriksen.

My opinion of it is fairly simple. The Louis family have built a fairly good team with a regular following of loyal supporters & sponsors to compete in the top league & in a good season turn a small profit. I'd say he has looked at the books & like many posters on here he can't see the top league with a possible 5 clubs being the product he wants to offer those people. Equally he is not prepared to take his club into a lower league as those same people may not support the venture. His choice is to walk away as a Champion & good luck to him.

That's far from the truth. I saw several people with white stickers on their shirts that had come to the motor museum & were allowed into the speedway show & some of our fantastic speedway people were more than happy to spread the gospel of our sport. Now weather or not any of those people have or ever will attend a speedway event I can't answer but the seed has been sown.

I understand the frustrations that clubs are not falling over each other to smash down the door to get a premium pitch at this show. But in all honesty it's not really about the clubs, It's aimed at the supporters & collectors & gives a chance for those that have collections of club based items that are not normally seen outside their own homes to be shown off. I have been the last two years & will attend again tomorrow, it's amazing to see what has been put together over many years from clubs all over the country by dedicated people that should be applauded for their efforts to put their collections together & allow others to enjoy them on one Saturday of the year. This is not about the BSPL, SCB or FIM it's about us, the regular folk that just enjoy speedway & everything that goes with it

It's going to be tough to find 3 wise men in the BSPL

At this stage it's easy to announce a couple of signings without knowing the upper points limit, Plymouth have already put Nicholls & King in their team for 2026 both have big averages which will take up a good part of their limit but all it really means is they may be using weaker riders at reserve or to give it a twist "Allowing young British riders a chance".

I have to admit to being one of the aforementioned "Old Farts" & my advise would be to make your site now ready for the start of January 2026 then try to offer it to the BSPL/SCB & the clubs as a draft & get some feedback from that level. If it sounds OK then continue. Don't give up at the first hurdle, there are many options already available & I'm sure that a lot of people have tried them all & offer good or bad reports for each. think about what you want to know & use that first you can always add or take away. In all honesty I don't think you will be allowed a direct feed from the Referee as some of their information is considered protected via the ACU data protection. Also weather reports are often misleading for example I was stood at the track in bone dry conditions & my friend called to say he was 20 minutes away in a monsoon & was considering turning around. It was a great meeting & never a hint of the wet stuff. Good luck.

The first time I saw Emil was at an U21 qualifier at Rye House when the announcer asked his manager how to pronounce his last name. The answer will live with me forever " It doesn't matter as long as you say the winner is" first. He went on to win the event I believe.

I don't think there will be much changed. There will still be a 3 tier structure to the leagues weather thats good or bad remains to be seen, But if clubs from the top league of 2025 are stating they will not run in one big league then the ransom note has been sent. We can ilafford to loose two tracks. How it will survive without TV money to prop it up is unknown. I think the way forward is to involve the fanbase more, They have been dealt a poor hand for far to long. The Promoters must understand fans will no longer turn up just because it's there. We must get back to starting on time, First race prompt at 19:30 & when ever possible a second half. We should bring back the tactical substitute but make the difference 8 points before it can be used. Let the fans be the manager on the terraces whilst the real team manager has to earn their wage.

I'm guessing........ Not well I was one of the few not to pick Cooper Rushen, I had him in my initial line up but then had a rethink. Looking back maybe I think to much!!!

I was at Rye House when Andrew Silver was riding for them in his later years & on the other side was Gary Havelock. It was fantastic to watch the two of them switching lines in the turn standing the bike up. Of course they were both masters of throttle control & finding the best from their machines on the surface provided. Today we have many riders who are just throttle jockey's & ride flat out until they run out of talent

I think there is a difference between style & entertainment. having seen two riders at either side in the same team Jem Doncaster making starts with no motor & riding around in a lounge chair with Armando Castagna all action full gas & hanging of the bike like an epelectic spider.

I understand the concern over the name change. It didn't work at Reading mainly because it was a new promotion starting straight after Bill Dore & Pat Bliss had sold the business. There were a lot of changes & they were not received well by the existing fan base & by the time BSI pulled out to allow Mark Legg & Malc Holloway to take over a sinking ship the damage was unrepairable dispite an imidiate return to the "Racers" name. Oxford have in the main been the Cheetahs but for a while were the Rebels. Plymouth have had more than a few names over their years. I hope it all works out for Buxton whatever they want to call it. They have been missing for to long it will be good to see a track return rather than another closing

It was a massive undertaking to enter all 3 levels. But after giving it a fair chance i'd say the top league was not as popular at Oxford & the costs to run a team at that level is much higher & to run a club that is to be racing in the finals is higher again. Oxford are suited to the Championship & National leagues. Through these leagues we have seen more than a few riders develope into very promising riders Jenkins, Killeen, Scott & even Boughan have come from the lowest league with Oxford to race at a higher level & for that they should be proud

Whilst not being a fan of the guest facility to compare British Speedway to the way Rugby, Football or Cricket works is misguided. Our team structure is based on a solid 7 man team with no extras. If you go along to other sports they have many substitutes they can bring into a game at any point or even start different players for each game. The position of Goalkeeper at most football clubs is for one person with a second sitting on the bench & a third who trains but never selected. Ice Hockey has 3 or 4 lineups for each game changing on the fly. Rugby has 5 replacements each game, In all reality are they not using a simiular facility to speedway.

In the first start of the final Doyle was disqualified for causing Lebedevs to fall on turn 3 lap 2. Then Bednar was also disqualified for a tapes offence in the re-run. Only 4 starters in the final of which Lebedevs led for almost the entire race, he suffered a puncture on the exit of turn 2 of lap 6 & was only passed by Berge on the final run in. I believe had this not of happened Lebedevs would have recorded the fastest time for a final which is currently held by Nicki Pedersen

In all fairness You can't punish a man for not turning up until he hasn't turned up. So until the meeting is over he could turn up & if he doe's is a punishment applicable & if he fails to show then the punishment can be applied after the event
