  1. Well let's put Plymouth on a Monday night then and see how they get on...I'm sure that will work for them.
  2. Think Brennan is a great choice for the lions. Had some decent scores at kings Lynn this season and a decent score at Leicester.
  3. Brennan in for Leicester for KO cup final both legs.
  4. The main reason why I'm quietly confident about the KO cup final is because of one man . Max Fricke.
  5. Like I said, its not about quality of riders for me. I wouldn't be happy seeing great riders go but if it meant the future of speedway is more secure then so be it. I'm sure when Poole lifted the championship title last season they weren't thinking about the quality riders.
  6. Just to clear a few comments up from previous post, I want the biggest and best names in British speedway. Watching Fricke the other week in that insane heat from riding from 15metres back was something special. Since Leicester have moved up the premiership the crowds have reduced, not massively but enough that its noticeable. I know not every club is like mine but nobody has given more one decent solution on how to fix the premiership. Not one. We can barely run it on 7 teams and its going to be reduced to 6 and you never know about Oxford, Sheffield etc. We need change and right now can anybody actually say that the current system works? It doesn't one bit. A 5/6 team premiership doesn't work for me and 7 is still too low. Now the premiership isn't just root cause of all British speedways problem, we can go on for pages about the issues we already have. The reason why I'm so passionate for change is that I am not even 30 yet and I'm dreading what it looks like in another 30 years time. I want to be able to take my kid to watch Leicester one day and I fear it isn't going to happen. I'm willing to make a sacrifice in quality if it meant I can still support my club for many years to come. I want every single club in British speedway to actually MAKE money, not lose it or scrap the barrel every season.
  7. It is time for one league. One of the reasons why I've only been to my club Leicester once this season is down to the lack of variety, it's the same riders every other week. There is zero incentive for me to watch Ipswich one week when I know in a few weeks time we could be facing them in the KO cup or the play offs. People will say there isn't enough riders and that's it, but is that my problem to fix? No it isn't. I don't go to watch speedway for GP stars, I go for the speedway. I love watching Fricke every week at Leicester, but I also loved watched the Thompson twins come through the ranks taking on the senior pros. That was just as exciting for me as watching a GP star. Let's be honest we only have a few GP stars anyways? Were missing Lambert, Bartosz, Laguta, Lingren etc. We only have the riders that are allowed here by there polish clubs lets be honest. They just come here for fun some would say. Let's not forget how expensive they are as well. Costing thousands every week! We can manage one big league, how? Maybe look at what some of championship clubs have done this season, some brand new riders to the league and promoting the youth from the NDL. It would lower the standard but I don't care, let's back the kids and give them plenty of riders and pay them a reasonable wage so riders like Sonny Springer can get back into speedway.
  8. And fans thought kings lynn would finish above leicester
  9. I'd love to go the british final, but not at the same venue everytime. Not worth the effort. Needs to be shared around country
  10. The lack of water the other day at Leicester just add another stupid reason why I haven't been to a home meeting yet this season. How can I be expected to treat british speedway seriously when they cant run a meeting properly? We could honestly list pages upon pages of the things british speedway cocks up every year and it makes me turn away from the sport more and more. It's so sad.

  12. I'd be interested to know how many meetings Birmingham have won since moving to the prem
  13. Job done for the Lions. Birmingham are still pants. Could have been more tonight as well, brummies got lucky.
  14. Careful what I wish for? What am I wishing for exactly?
  15. God I have to laugh at the Brummies Facebook page sometimes, some fans believe it or not are actually defending this team and management. You know the management that have seen Birmingham finish bottom season after season? This is why some clubs never achieve anything of note, because some fans couldn't care less about winning. They do the same old line ' I'm just glad we've got speedway', so your happy to watch your team lose every single week then? It's honestly the worst excuse ever. Birmingham are how not to run a speedway club and assemble a team. They lost to Ipswich last night and didn't put up much of a fight, only a few riders can say they really tried. Everyone is going to be beaten by the witches but that doesn't mean you seriously defend riders like Tobias? Seriously this guy has an over 8pt average ! I always try to be positive when my team lose, but there are times you've got wake up and smell the coffee and say what's really happening. It's not good enough.
  16. I think most lions fans can agree that our main weaknesses since we've moved to the prem is lack major support for Fricke and decent reserves. Fricke is a fine rider for us but when things do go his way, it seems no one else can step up. Same can be said with our middle order, it's strong but inconsistent and when we need help from our 6 and 7, it never comes.
  17. Just watched heat 15 from the Lions tv. Super riding by both fricke and becker. Will try to make it to the next home meeting.
  18. Didn't go to the meeting last night, which for me is rare. Mostly because of financial commitments and I saw this almost as a dead rubber. Sounded like a great meeting with some decent action. Fair play to the brummies for not just turning up and being rolled over, sounded like they really wanted to send a message to the rest of the league. I'm not surprised by the scoreline at all, Lions do tend to start slow, Fricke also never gets going until the summer officially arrives. So I can't really make too much of an assumption yet on how Leicester will get on this year. I still think Birmingham will struggle, but I would love to be proved wrong.
  19. I can't believe what I heard on the Speedway Tavern podcast. Apparently Leicester will be competing for the wooden spoon with Oxford. Some birmingham fans are clearly over rating there side.....hopefully Monday changed there minds.
