Sheffield vs Ipswich 13th May
FishersGate replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I've just turned this meeting on as I forgot earlier, I'm only 10 minutes in and who is the is co commentator? He sounds like a nervous wreck! Kelvin Tatum is bang average as well -
It was coming. He isn't good enough for this level and everyone knows that, even Joe himself. I do feel for the lad though, said it before and il say it again the RS system is not fit for purpose simply because there isn't enough of them. If anything, the RS system has made Joe's career worse by lowering his confidence. I don't know much about Hagon, I heard that he's started the season well. Will he get us winning at home? Highly doubt it, the bigger issues we have are the constent tinkering with the track preparation and the form of Kemp, Becker and Masters last night. Good luck to Joe I really hope his smashes the championship and proves us all wrong one day. And welcome Sam. Good luck!

Leicester v Witches 02/05
FishersGate replied to blue witch's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Out of all the rising stars only Dan T is thriving. Even the ex rising stars like kemp and mountain are no where near ready for the main body of the team. If a club wants a young brit in there side it should be by choice of the club. Lets be honest if the rising star system wasn't in place , Joe T and Ashton wouldn't be in any prem team. -

We've seen Joe struggle so far this season and it hasn't been a suprise , I really feel for the lad as he's just not ready for his level YET. This is why I'm against the RS system. Some riders are managing at this level and others are not. Its unfair BUT I don't have any sympathy with Leicester. We had a good RS last year in Dan Thompson. We were too impatient and now look at him. In the main body of a great Ipswich team. I heard some rumours and whispers about team changes already, some I don't believe and others I can see happening. I just don't see who else can replace Joe. Sam Hagon? Is he better than Joe ? Not so sure. I'm more concerned on the complete lack or consistency of our riders. Fricke, Lawson, Douglas have had good starts to the season. Masters had a great meeting last week and looked a completely different rider last night. Kemp again is inconsistent and Becker just can't seem to get to grips with the track. Heard a mad rumour last night that Becker was getting dropped for Wozniak. I asked around and didn't get any answers really, so I highly doubt that will happen. Its a little to early for changes anyways. I'd rather stay loyal for now unless someone too good to turn down comes to us.. Oh and why did the track get prepared the way it did last night? Half our team couldn't get to grips with it! So why? Either way, onwards and upwards I guess. -

I really don't understand Stewarts mind sometimes.....we're in form, fricke and masters got maximums so let's dig the track up. Now masters can't ride it. -

I agree. Doyle and Emil at 1 n 5 in heat 13 is when they usually kill the oppositions hopes of a victory. -

With king missing we have a great chance of winning here. Seems like Dan moving into the main side and woth King missing the speedway gods are showing us abit of luck. I think we will win this now 50-40. Masters has hit form along with fricke. Big night for Joe T and Kemp, you can add becker to that as well. He needs to show some form! -
Get in brummies boy did those fans need that!

Come on brummies.

LIONS v BIRMINGHAM 25/4/24
FishersGate replied to justathought's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The meeting was boring but I don't really have any complaints on the track. Yes there was next to no passing but with the forecast looking poor they had to prepare it in a way so if it did rain we could manage to finish the meeting. Crowd was poor again though, think the cold and forecast put people off. A win is a win and only two riders looked off the pace. Joe T and Becker. I think Joe likes more dirt when I spoke to Andy the trackman. Becker on the other hand I don't know really. Maybe some wolves fans can enliten us on what tracks he prefers. But I'm glad we're hitting form and it's our bogey team next week. Bring it on -

Weather forecast has taken a turn for the worst and looks like rain in the afternoon. I still have faith knowing how well they managed the track last week -
I wasn't really following speedway much when Garity got put away, so I asked around last week at leicester and some folk explained what had happened and about his release. I actually spoke to ex promoter/team manager on Thursday about Garity just to see what he had to say about his attitude and personality etc. What I will say is I didn't hear one shred of positivity about the bloke. When he was riding apparently his so called 'friends' from the travelling community were entering the stadium without a ticket. They were in the pits and just generally causing abit of a trouble. They were eventually thrown out but apparently it caused a lot of tension between the rider and management. There were other things said but I'd rather not go into it. Now in my opinion this is a really tough subject, does the guy deserve a second chance in life? Probably he does. Does he deserve a chance in speedway? Not so sure. I don't know the guy and can only say what I have been told. I personally wouldn't go near him if I was a promoter/team manager.

Kings Lynn vs Sheffield - Monday 22nd April
FishersGate replied to SuperStarsFan91's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
So did it rain or not? If not then why would buster not put a meeting on? I don't get the logic? -
It's currently raining here. Car park is half empty thinking many folk aren't risking it. If this carries on then it's a disaster. If it stops then there geniuses
-
Been holding it off going until the inevitable announcement of it being called off but going to take the risk of going now. Let's see if it pays off
-
I've never used met check but w9lion is right only says a tiny amount of rain. Other apps say its going to rain but not sure how much. Tough one for the club as we could only get light drizzle
-
It's still early doors and line ups can change but I just feel like patience is zero with the fans due to how poor they've been for quite a while now. They showed promise early doors but this fixture against an out of form lions side is a huge opportunity missed. I just really don't get how all the fans can see that the team is poor but the the guys in charge of team building think its a decent side? How did Oxford put a semi decent side together but Birmingham couldn't? I know Oxford have a few quid lying around but tolley isn't afraid to cough up the money. Didn't he say he would sign Zmarlik if he wanted to ride here?

Unless a new rider is coming in this looks a strange move to me.

Just using speedway updates right now. All I can say I feel so sorry for the Birmingham fans. On the other hand so happy for Joe Thompson. -

FishersGate replied to StephenMiller's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Stewart has done it a few times in the past. He did it in the Poole semi final a few years ago and also for Glasgow I think. He usually puts the most out of form rider at 5 and basically sacrifices heat 13 in order to strengthen heat and a few others I do agree though that I still don't understand the change.
